Driving both the 1.5 & the 1.0 I have realized that the more you use the cruise control, not just to keep a steady speed, but even to accelerate up-to a speed, the cruise control does it much more efficiently as compared to the foot. This drastically changes the mileage figures.

As you mentioned, yes, it is terribly sensitive to not just conditions but also throttle input.

Coincidently I did 57 km in the 1.0 TSI this weekend. At an average speed of 42 km/hr, the mileage was 16.8 km/l. It went up-to 17.9 km/l at one point. Pleasantly surprised!

Re: Volkswagen Taigun Review

Hi everyone, I happened to drive my VW Taigun 1.0 MT through more than knee-deep water (to the point where my front license plate came off), and now I have an airbag light. What could be the cause? and how to fix?

Hi, do not know if you already got the wiper replaced. But check out my post here (Volkswagen Taigun 1.5 GT+ Ownership Review)

It is so much better than the OEM ones and looks much better too.

The only issue i am facing is a bit of extra wind noise over 150 kmph. But hey, how often are we driving that fast?

Re: Volkswagen Taigun Review

The wear on your Michelins indicate you have been running it underinflated regularly. There's no way that half the text on the sidewall should be worn out. I've done 20k+ on those same PS4s and they are in fantastic condition.

I have upsized the OEM tyre size to Michelin pilot sport 4 225/50/17 and lenso jager dynas around 22k kms. My current odo stands at 45k kms and I'm extremely satisfied with Michelins.
Last week I was travelling to Madurai from my hometown to attend a marriage function. I was cruising at around 80 to 90 kmph on the Madurai outer ring road. Suddenly I noticed a bridge construction work going on and slowed down immediately.I heared a loud sound from the right rear tyre while passing through one of the expansion joints in the bridges and the TPMS light started blinking. But, there was nothing noticeable inside the cabin so I went inside Madurai city and reached my destination.
To my surprise, I found the right rear tyre was completely flat with a torn side wall.I replaced the single tyre with a Stepney and went back home which was again 250 kms from madurai.
I enquired some of the tyre shops in chennai, coimbatore and madurai none of them have the Michelins in stock and even if they have they are minimum 2 years from the date of manufacture. I needed the replacement tyre soon as I'm planning to do a 2000 km roadtrip next week.
I've decided to go with any other brand. My experience was not great with contis as they have higher noise compared to Michelins.I finally settled with Bridgestone Turanza T005a 225/50/17, got a pair of two tyres for the front and retained the existing Michelins at the rear.
The Turanzas are good they offer better comfort than the ps4 but the dry handling and the roadtrip offered is only 85 percent of the Michelins. Michelins excels in cornering grip and handling. But overall Turanzas are good.
If I am able to get hold of a pair of Michelin ps4, I will transfer the Turanzas to the rear once the existing set becomes completely worn out

True.Once the tyres got damaged I got a TPMS indication regarding low pressure. I didn't take it seriously and drove for another 10 kms to a nearby local puncture shop where I noticed the tyres were not completely flat but half deflated.

One more question I needed to ask regarding vredestein ultrac vorti, How are they? I have heard a lot of positive reviews regarding them.

This might be after effects of driving with deflated tyre as the OP mentioned that he did not stop immediately but continued to drive with damaged tyre.

Re: Volkswagen Taigun Review

Hi
I have a 1.0 TSI Topline AT. Need some clarification regarding service intervals.

VW website mentions only 1 yr / 15000km, whichever comes first. But there is an indication to take the car for service inspection after 6 months and the service centre is charging about 3500 rupees for the inspection. I am not sure about the authenticity of this.

I don’t know of this query has been already addressed in the previous pages, I couldn’t find an answer. Kindly enlighten me on this and how to proceed.

BTW, the car is two years old and has the 3 yr service package.

Thanks

Anyone installed 360 deg Camera? Any brand recommendations? Any place to check at Bangalore or Chennai?

No 6 months inspection needed if you aren't facing any issues with the car, regular service is done at 1 year/15k kms only. Just keep an eye on engine oil and coolant level once in a while.

Yep, I had installed. Brand/model name is DHC VW / SKODA 360 with CANBUS. Installation was done from dealership itself, so warranty stays intact. Total cost came to around 39k including fitting. So far working good, its been a year now.

Was there water inside the car? If yes, it can be the air bag module which is located just below the infotainment system and just above the centre rib. You will also be getting a airbag malfunction warning when you are starting the car. Better get it checked asap before there is permanent damage to the air bag module which will cost 65K

Nope, not inside the car. The light went away after a couple of hours.

Not that i know of. My SC told me that they might offer this option soon via official route.
I sat in a Taigun with subwoofer, it is something that can be skipped. Not ALOT of difference IMO.

The only reason I am willing to install is I find the stock system to be strictly average.
