I have noticed this too. In the Taigun and in other cars as well. Especially from the driver's window.

Mine is a Highline (no sunroof) and I still get wind noise at higher speeds. In fact, sometimes even my horn sounds really loud inside the cabin. This makes me check all 4 windows only to find that they are all up.

Re: Volkswagen Taigun Review

Had checked out the Taigun a few days ago with the intention of possibly buying one. I'm also considering other vehicles in the same price range.

I didn't think I'd like the VAG cars, but the moment I sat in one it felt right.

I'm only considering the 1.0 AT variants. My annual running is low, I'll spend 99% of the time in city traffic, and I'm a sedate driver.

Some observations:
  • The 1.0 isn't bad at all in stop and go traffic. It picks up from a standstill just fine.
  • There's a bit of vibration when the car has stationary and the gear is in D. Goes away after shifting to N or when it's on the move. Not sure if this was a peculiarity with our test car.
  • Turns tight.
  • AC kept us cool.
I'm considering between the GT Line and the Topline; the latter had the following notable features:
  • Sunroof — don't care
  • Power-adjusting seats — nice to have, but not a deal breaker
  • Ventilated seats — barely felt it
  • Virtual cockpit — nice to have, but I also happen to like VW's analog dials
  • Keyless entry — this I really like; it's 2024, keyless entry should be the default
The GT Line is dechromed. Once I saw it, the liberal dosage of chrome in the Topline (and other variations also I think) seems garish. I wish the Topline did not have all that chrome, or that the GT Line had keyless entry.

The Onam Edition cars can be had in black and looked smashing. Black Virtus is drool-worthy. But I decided to stick with the Taigun as the compact size can be handy.

I scoured through this entire thread. The initial list of issues were concerning, but in 2024 the issues seem to have mostly gone. Does the EPC problem still present on 2024 models?

My concerns:
  • DRL yellowing — salesman said that if it happens it'll be handled under warranty.
  • Facelift around the corner?
  • Has the EPC problem been fixed for good?

Check out the on road prices in carwale and you can expect discounts of about 1.5 lakhs on top of it. Also, I found out this nice YouTube channel where this guy talks about how you can push for discounts -

Re: Volkswagen Taigun Review

Hi all,

I am inclined specifically towards Taigun Highline AT since it does not have sunroof.

Can someone please confirm if Highline Automatic TSI comes with Cruise control or not?

I'm getting false alarm on my taigun "You've been driving continuously for 4 hours" when I start the vehicle. Anyone else faced this issue before?

By chance do you have a 70mai dash cam? My camera also gives that stupid error. You can turn it off in the alert settings in the app.

He is right. Mine is a 2022 October model 1.0 Topline and now I notice them getting yellower by the day (after reading your post, so Thanks).
I called up the ASC and they say it will be replaced under warranty. Catch is I have to give the vehicle for 2-3 days for them to raise the claim!

Re: Volkswagen Taigun Review

Fellow enthusiasts,

I have a Taigun Topline AT approaching 20k, while parking my car, I brushed my wheels against the curb and piece of rubber broke off from the front right tire exposing the steel wires inside. The tyre pressure is intact but I will have to change it since I do a lot of highway trips. I spoke to my ASC and they are doubtful of getting warranty for it as it's over 20k and approaching 3 years. These are Apollo stock tires that came with the car, I want to know what my options are - since all the other 3 tires still have life in them.

Do I replace the damaged one with the same Apollo tire?
Do I have to replace a pair instead of just one?
Is it ok to replace with another brand?

Wanted to know what the collective wisdom is Appreciate the help.

I had a tire burst last year on my Apollo Alnac 4G 205/55R17 OEM tire. The burst happened due to some sharp object while driving on the highway. No claim was entertained and I had to purchase new. I went for the same make as mixing different makes is a strict no-no.

Depends on your relationship with the ASC. Replacement headlights are mostly in stock and as long as there is visible yellowing, they approve it. I got my RHS headlight changed under warranty and the LHS is due - not enough yellowing yet. I had other issues for which I had left the car with the SC for 3 days though.

I have noticed the exact same behaviour of the pedal giving a small kickback in my manual Taigun GT over bumps with foot lightly resting on the brake, just like you mentioned. My thought was also ABS somehow kicking in momentarily - atlesst it feels like that. I hope this is indeed normal as mentioned by ASC.

There was this heavy condensation forming in my right tail light

I got it replaced under warranty. The reason I pushed for replacement was the error message I started getting

Yes, I was told the same thing. Fortunately, they delivered the car within the promised time.

Re: Volkswagen Taigun Review

Hello People

Very excited to be part of T-Bhp after umpteen attempts from last 10 years.
Coming from a Polo 1.5 TDI Manual which i drove for 1.25 lacs in 9 years and now owning a Taigun 1.5 GT DSG variant.

Completed 18.5K kms in a year with very few niggles which other owners faced initially like squeaking noise from the door & for me it was from door and from the rear seat clamp. After 2-3 times of investigation the issue has been arrested completely.

So far the experience has been very very good. My usage of the car is 90% on highways & only to temples, hence choosing a DSG was a no brainer.

Recently did a 2500kms trip covering Kerala temples of Divya desams & few other temples in Nagercoil, Tiruchendur, Kulasekarapattinam, Tirunelveli & Madurai.
I was always wanting to feel Taigun completely with longer trips to know it much better and this was just the beginning of more trips to come across India covering temples.
I still miss the dynamics of Polo though
