There is a dedicated dashcam thread (The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread) which you can read for reviews and ownership experiences.
Wishing you safe drives and many happy kilometers.
Thank you very much. I followed the dashcam thread for last few days and finally ordered a Redtiger F7NT, it has been delivered this morning and just waiting for weekend to hook it up. It doesn't have starvis 2 sensor but previous generation starvis sensor. 70Mai A510 was another model I was keen to go with, but lack of super capacitor mode me go with RT F7NT. Hopefully it works fine.

My Taigun battery died last week after 30 months. PPS motors, Hyderabad cautioned me not to install any other battery but VW and that it affects the warranty!

When I hauled the vehicle to the workshop, they charged me 11000 for the VW battery and 500 extra for installation! They claim that the battery is custom designed for the engine ! Is this a valid claim to charge a premium?

Re: Volkswagen Taigun Review

I have bought a used taigun 1.0 at topline 4 months back. However, cannot use the volkswagon connect app as my mobile number is not updated in the records. I tried reaching out to the authorised service centre in mumbai but to no avail.

I want to get my mobile number updated and use the app. Can anyone provide guidance as to how to go about it or whom to contact.

Re: Volkswagen Taigun Review

I have recently been seeing an SDK NOT FOUND - 102 error in the My Volkswagen app.

This seems to have happened after the car went for the first check up (though i strongly suspect it was because I updated to iOS 18.3 when it was away, as it started showing the error once it came back).

So now I do not see the map view - it shows this error. I can see the trip details (distance, driver score) only when I tap on each trip. But it seems broken.

Any other iPhone user facing similar issues? Mine is a 1.5GT DSG Chrome

After a lot of efforts and testing removing everything it seems like the sound originates from the bottom internal part of the boot and also causes the rear windshield to cause a squeaky noise. If I just normally close the door also I can hear the rattling noise clearly. So in highways when I had my brother ride the car and sat in the rear seat it was horrible. Continuous vibrations and noise even on smooth roads on highways. It’s clearly audible when I am driving as well. Took it to ASC they said sorry can’t do anything as they dont find anything unusual on the boot and it must be the quality of the car which I have to live with. As any one noticed it and fixed it?
Hi even I face the same issue in my Kushaq. If theres' a small hump or a pothole, it makes a sound of two glasses colliding and a big rattle. I took this to my SC but they couldn't fix it. As of now I am just living with it and just turn my music little louder to neglect it until I come with a proper solution in future. And, I didn't install any PPF or anything.

Yes I was also told the same. Seems to be likely true. These are a different ampere rating Exide batteries if I remember.

Later I checked multiple Taigun's in showroom and service center. Seems like the rattling noise from boot is common. Just remove everything from the boot including the mat and shut the rear door. You will hear a lot of rattling. You can also try a test drive with boot empty and the mat removed. Reason for me to notice it only after 1000KM's was that I actually had the boot filled with things from day 1 and to analyze the door rattling sound due to solar shield technician damaging the panel I removed everything from my car and boot after 1000kms. Now I have the boot filled with things. Also applied 3m tapes in the boot latch and number plates which helps in damping the sound

There are 2 apps in the Google play store, Assuming you use an android phone.
1. My Volkswagen Connect
2. My Volkswagen

I downloaded the first app, the one with CONNECT in it with VW logo, it didn't work. I got an error stating "Problem in fetching your car details, retry or try again after sometime" and it keeps repeating. I informed this to my SA, he said he will come back to me, haven't heard back yet.

I downloaded the second app with a steering logo, it gives an option to key in the VIN number and it worked. You need to login with your phone number and then enter VIN number.

Not sure of the backend process if any. Please try, it may work.

The name of the app should be My Volkswagen (a white background with a dark blue steering wheel as the icon).

However, the dealer needs to do some onboarding in the backend. I had to follow up for a few days with mine. They informed me once that was done, and post that, I was able to login - a fairly simple process with your mobile number. If they are not responding, suggest you pay them a visit in person and get it done from their backend office.

Get your doors damped(door metal and plastic pqnels)with good quality damping sheets. It should rid of most of the panels. I did this for my Ecosport and worked brilliantly to get rid of rattles. You may need 12-15 sheets.

Going to a service centre for this issue is a complete waste of time.

I have it in my mind as a last option. The only rattling at preset bothering me is the left front door. Something is loose due to the damage caused by the solar shield sunfilm installer and I want to get that fixed first. Other doors don’t rattle but the plastic trims produces squeaky noises at certain rpm’s and bad roads which is not disturbing. May be after the car becomes older I will plan damping. For now it’s just 3 months old so don’t want to jump straight to damping. Also how many years has it been since you installed damping sheets? Do they cause any smell after years or it’s a product that lasts a life time

I got the damping done in June,21. There has been no smell at all. It is supposed to last the lifetime of the car.

I suggest to get it done early as there are other advantages like overall noise reduction in traffic, car sounding more solid while going over rough surfaces etc...

Thanks for the reply. I did try both the apps and the issue stands unresolved.

My understanding is that there is a backend process and my mobile number and email address needs to be updated in records.

Thanks for the advice. I started follow up with the VW service centre / dealer nearme afresh. It helped that I sent the email to vw customer care and they routed the same to the dealer.

Got a call also from the dealer. After one level of escalation, was given a clear picture. They told that in backend a dealer code is put/updated for every car and hence in case of used cars dealer code can be changed.

For me, as I bought it in auction from VW itself, the car was registered in the company name and no dealer code was there in the records.

I have been assured that the dealer will inform the case to the back end team and the issue will be resolved soon. I stay hopeful.

I will keep the forum updated.

Agreed on car sounding more solid after damping. I have dampened my Taigun on all four doors. The hollow sound the doors make when hitting bad patches is well covered now. Also I had tyre noise creeping in to the cabin when going over broken roads, that is contained to an extent as well. But if one wants perfect silence, then they need to dampen the entire floor as well wheel arches. But IMHO some sound is necessary. I consider them as feedback from the vehicle

Where in chennai you did the damping and how many layers for all 4 doors? Do you mind sharing the cost and brand used?
