Absolutely crazy! This reminds of new mobile launches of Xiaomi few years back.

Fence-sitters like me are now pushed further back. With the chip shortage in play, we may not be driving these even in the next year perhaps. Unless of course Mahindra somehow increases production capacity.

There is lot of mess up in booking.
At 10:30AM received booking confirmation by SMS, with in 2mins received email saying that booking cancelled and refund issued.
Sales Exec says booking is confirmed but when checked with the tracking link provided in the booking confirmation SMS, there is no booking with that ID.

Also, none of the dealers I spoke to in Mumbai accepted offline bookings and quoted Mahindra diktat of strictly following online booking process.

If after all the tall claims of transparency and proactive customer service, one has to go back and approach the dealer, it'll be a shame. There's slim chances any of us folks will get included in the first 25k bookings if done through dealers now; surely the dealers have cornered majority bookings from bigwigs and people with influence and access.
The dealer in my city clearly told me on 04-10-21 that prebooking with the dealer will get priority over online bookings. I am not sure if this is true or not but they told me that the OTP will be generated only after confirmation of the booking by the dealer. I have paid him 21K and have completed my KYC.
Yesterday when I went for the TD, I upgraded the model to AWD+L pack and in my presense they entered the data and confirmed that it has been upgraded in their system. BTW the dealer told me yesterday that they have crossed 90 bookings already and was hoping to reach 100 by end of the day.
Even my friend at Salem, TN said the same story and he finally paid 21K to the dealer yesterday evening. My friend confirmed from the dealer that they also have done around 100 bookings.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

There is no "My booking" section showing on the website now. How to check the status?

I think this is again a continuation of the hype building process, since they have limited capacity to start with. Be ready to see an ad in the newspaper tomorrow morning saying something like "thank you for the overwhelming response"

I think some of the people who have even managed to book would not receive deliveries till Q1 next year, atleast. Would rather go for the Hector or Harrier than be a party to this gimmick.

Below is a article from 2012 when they had done the same with XUV500:

Got the same news from my dealer about an hour ago. Atleast the salesman had the courtsey to call and confirm my booking.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Good going gentlemen!

Just back after dropping the Scorpio for a service. They politely gave a heads up that their servers are down due to ongoing X7OO bookings and will not be able to provide computerized bill. 'With you hamesha' app is down as well. The ripple effect a product launch is creating is incredible.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

For the ones who have got their Booking confirmation Email/SMS, are you guys able to see your Booking details in the Mahindra Website? Under "My Bookings" or "My Cart"?

I did not get any Email or SMS confirmation. Now, i was able to go through the Website. But, Both "My Bookings" and "My Cart" is Empty.

Not Understanding what's Happening at all.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

The dealers were sitting with a few hundred bookings each in some cases well before booking started.

A Summary on XUV.

• A well-engineered, contemporary SUV at a value-for-money price
• Acres of space on the 1st & 2nd seat rows
• Competent engine delivers fantastic urban driveability, as well as fast highway performance
• Mature ride quality & balanced handling. Body roll is minimal too
• Loaded to the gills with technology, equipment & gizmos

Those words are not mine, its from the official review Circa 2011. 10 years back. Link in here.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I checked the XUV 700 recently and found entry into the car a real big issue. Especially in the co-driver's seat where the seat height cannot be adjusted. I am 5'11" and I dont remember facing this peculiar issue ever. Now the Seat height vs the angle of A pillar isnot ergonomically sorted. Has anybody else faced the same problem?

( the seat was pushed back and the problem persisted.)
