Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Has Mahindra delivered a single diesel xuv700 till date and any AWD that anybody has seen?

Wondering why there is such a delay when petrol cars are being delivered
across.

They have a target of delivering 14000 Cars by Jan 2022 and wondering how they will fulfil. They had enough time to plan and would have had some stock pile as well. Its surprising and suspicious at the same time. Are they sorting some niggles or updating some software fixes before dispatching.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Just came across this tweet :
Mahindra XUV700 Review-screenshot_20211202155958_twitter.jpg

So does this mean, the bookings are TRANSFERABLE? Atleast at the time of final Invoice/Registration?

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

MX/AX3/AX5 rear view camera, dealership install differences -

Few days back, someone had posted AX5 camera install video which really messed up rear view camera output, today I noticed another video but with better install location.

I believe location shown in second install is correct place for camera, if you do it as per location shown in first install, it's never going to work correctly as bumper has slight curve.

Incorrect install location and guidelines -

Mahindra XUV700 Review-img_9ea61e34a5171.jpeg

Correct install location, this should fix issue noted in earlier install -

I am not sure what is Mahindra's recommendation on install location but strange that it varies between two different dealers.

if you are adding camera to any of the lower variant please watch out, this is done by drilling hole so always good to get precise install location.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

So if correctly understand, the price reduction from AX7 Luxury to AX7 Smart (dumb pack ) is 80k.

Can someone also clarify if this optional variant change to smart pack is available only for the AX7 L booking customers or even AX7 customers as well?

If so, has anyone been able to compare the features of regular AX7 vs new AX7 S variant, what more has been added and how much price difference to AX7.

At the face of it it looks like its only available for L pack bookings. The difference in price between AX7 and AX7 s(Read CID: Customer Is Dumb) pack is ~1 Lk on the dearer side. for Which you have to let go of ADAS, ESP & Drive modes for Diesel and you get is 360 Camera and 12 Sony speakers, so Safety over Aesthetics.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

With the list of missing features (Apart from ADAS, this variant will also miss out on ESP, hill hold assist, hill descent control, knee airbag, drive modes, electronic parking brake, wireless charger, Drive Drowsiness Detection, and electric door handles with passive keyless entry) only a noob can name it as a SMART variant. This would certainly be an 'Out of Syllabus' option for many customers. Only the most desperate ones would bite this bullet.

Makes sense as it is common practice to register the car in someone else's name in the household. Dealer can't establish whether the car is being transferred to someone else or is it all within the family.
Now this loophole makes me think if some people have done multiple bookings with the interest of making some quick bucks, which has actually lead to overbooking and long waiting periods.

I think they ask for some documents to establish relationship (often that might anyway be there on the Aadhaar/PAN etc, so might not be specifically asked for).

A dealer also might have more flexibility if the booking has been done through them, and not the company directly.

How does he establish relationship if I have booked for my cousin or uncle who stays in a different address? Dealers don't want to get in to such headaches and in fact they don't have any rights to get in to such matters.

We have been asked for documents for transfer within the family. I think it is to avoid people booking vehicles and sell that booking at a premium, like the old socialist days. (Reminds me of stories of Maruti 800s being sold at over double the price on launch).

Unsure whether further discussion on the topic would be considered on or off topic for the thread.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I noticed some confusion around variants and features, I am adding image which I had created to find VFM variant (I eventually booked AX5 D AT), this also explains feature available per variant.
Point to note diesel AX5 gets ESP.

Mahindra XUV700 Review-xuv_variants-.png

Here is what "*" means in image (Like the one you see in ESP for AX5)
1) MicroHybrid is available only on Manual Transmission across all variants.

2) Leather gear lever is available on all Automatic variants.

3) 3rd row aircon vents, 2nd row seat with armrest and cupholder as well as 2nd row 60:40 One-Touch tumble functions are available only on the 7-seater configurations.

4) Smart Pilot Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control is only available on AX7 Automatic and AX7 Luxury Automatic variants.

5) All-Wheel-Drive is available on AX7 only and comes with Electronic Park Brake.

6) Electronic Stability Program (ESP) is available on AX5 Diesel, AX7 (Both Diesel and Petrol), AX7 Luxury (Both Diesel and Petrol) and all Automatic variants.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Leaked Details about AX7 S Variant. Apparently, this is being positioned above the AX7 variant and below the AX7L - rumors are that it will be priced 1 lakh above AX7 and 70 below AX7L.

IMO, they should have called it AX6 and priced it below AX7 non-luxury pack. It does not have ADAS - the main differentiator between AX5 and AX7.

One could even argue it should be called AX4 and priced accordingly. It does not even have the essential feature of ESP, which even the AX5 has! It also does not have the important (to some) feature of Drive modes that AX5 has.

Instead they are pricing it above AX7 non-luxury pack!! This is sheer opportunism on M&M's part to price this variant at this level. A move that was forced on them to work around parts shortages has been turned intro a money-spinner - The AX7S is over-priced by around 2 lakhs at least, in my opinion - even compared to already high prices of AX7L.

Now, all M&M has to do is ask those folks who booked AX7 and AX7L if they want to upgrade ()/downgrade respectively to get faster deliveries - assuming 50% agree, you are talking about converting 25K booking made at current prices to variants that are 1-2 lakhs more profitable per piece - a huge additional profit of 250-500 Crores overnight!

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Too many option deletions for a difference of 1 lakh particularly ESP, hill holding and descent, and knee airbag and telescopic steering.

The chances are very high that they are trying to reduce the effect of chip shortage.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

With chip shortage and features missing what are the options left within 30L SUV. The closest I can imagine is Safari and maybe MG hector plus
Not sure if Carens from KIA could be one of the competitor
