Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hi All, Can anyone suggest whether Liberty Insurance is good? I had booked an xuv 700 Ax 5 on Oct 7th and I'm getting it delivered next week. Dealer suggested Liberty Insurance as having a national tie up with Mahindra. I want to know if any of you have any previous experience dealing with the insurance company.

Thanks again
I had done some reading about bug deflectors in general but found very mixed reviews; most of them saying it is not effective. Anyways, driving in cities, rural areas and through forests at night, I have not found a lot of issues with bugs in recent years. I remember bugs being a problem decades back where you see literally a 100 flies with headlights! Not sure if there are parts of India where it still happen.

Only accessories I went for where mudflaps, scuff plates for doors and screen guard. Scuff plates for doors are only partially effective as they cover only some area but I am happy that I installed them. Screen guard has mixed reviews in this thread; in my opinion, quality was good, installation from my dealership was just satisfactory. Tail gate scuff protector was not in-stock when I got the vehicle, I didn't get one yet too. It might be a good one as there is a pretty large gap under the tailgate where dust accumulates. The scuff plate may reduce that gap; see if you can find a demo car with it installed.

Zeus mate, I've very much been used to a centre armrest while being driven. Can't imagine a car being as comfortable without it when 1-2 people on the rear bench. It is like the difference between sitting on a chair with one arm vs on a chair with both arms. This is quite a must-have feature for me. Our car is often used with the driver and one passenger on the rear left seat.

I appreciate the slightly better comfort the centre passenger will have without an armrest, but in our case, that is hardly used for long durations, if at all.

A pity that Mahindra doesn't make a proper comfortable 5 seater as premium as the 7 seater versions. If someone from Mahindra is reading, please consider a bench like on the 7 seater with an armrest and recline. Also with increased legroom on the second row. It could be with or without the ADAS features based on how Mahindra wants to position it.
@Poitive - Yes I understand. My Honda city had an armrest and I have enjoyed the rear seat experience only once during the entire 10 years. The arm rest with cup holders were put to use during that business travel . It truly is a luxury. Apart from that I was always behind the wheel, so I don't miss the arm rest. But that said, I wonder how they are developing the product mix and the features. Such feel good features cannot be ignored as cost cutting measure. The manufacturer will keep saying here it is. If you want take it or move to the higher segment to enjoy such features.

Although I have referred the Team bhp PDI checklist but wanted to know any specifics I should look out for in the PDI from fellow owners who have already got the car here.

Any specific things apart from the infotainment software that I should keep in mind so that I do not have to visit the dealership later again and again.

Will post an ownership review soon, I believe it will be the first AWD ownership review here, please correct me if I am wrong.

This one has given us all a really long wait, I wish those who are waiting to get their cars soon.

Keep Revvin'
Congrats on your AWD delivery confirmation, finally we have a AWD on team bhp here. Do keep us posted on your pdi and delivery updates.

I just checked with my sales rep here in Bangalore - no allocation details yet for them from the company.

How much is the premium quoted by the dealer? The dealer quoted me 99k for AX5 Diesel AT 5 seater of ICICI. However, I got the quote of 71K from my agent of ICICI which I have shared with dealer to match it.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I have booked AX7 Diesel Auto AWD online today. I dont want the car to be delivered before Aug 2022 either ways. I am hoping the wait beyond Aug 2022 is not of another 12 months! Lets see how it goes.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Mahindra has posted a video showing how the special customised XUV700 SUV that the company has presented to Paralympian Anavi Lekhara.

The latest video showcased how the front passenger seat comes out and goes back to the cabin.
This allows Avani Lekhara to sit on the seat once it is out and with just a push of a button the seat goes back inside the cabin with her sitting on it.

Any thoughts? I'm going to have the car for 10+ years or till such time as the car is road worthy (registration etc).

.
Quick update on this : tried scheduling a test drive of petrol manual with another dealership here in Jaipur. They were supremely uninterested. So logged a query on Mahindra site. Received call back in seconds - so impressed!

However they handed me back to the same dealership, and they were still not too keen so no TD so far.

Meanwhile I welcome any comments on clutch stiffness. Or basically should I just book an AT like everyone else 😂

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

List of Bugs/Problems encountered:

1) Yesterday Morning on initial startup, there was a crackling sound in all the speakers (AX7 L D AT)for everything which includes FM, Bluetooth, Alexa, and even for the lane departure warnings and other warnings. Restarted XUV, reset the audio settings to default, checked volume on different levels and nothing worked out. Called Dealership and they requested me to come there. parked the car somewhere for work and came back after 2 hours. To my surprise, everything was fine, and didn't encounter it again. This was for the first time since last month.

2) Alexa is still a mystery, It works like once a day and doesn't work most of the time. There isn't an Alexa symbol on the display. We need the fix as soon as possible. The problem is with VI Simcard and I suggest no one shall ever renew the Adrenox app till the VI is changed to Jio.

3) Battery problem is really there. I am using the Bosh C7 charger after 4-5 days and it works well for me. Mahindra Please give us an option to switch off the Remote controls inside the touchscreen itself as not everyone needs these features.

4) Cruise control in AX7 L Diesel AT needs to be fixed as we can only use the Adaptive cruise control and not the normal one. We shall get an option to switch it to Normal cruise control as on our roads it's impossible to use the ACC as the traffic is not systematic at all. ACC can be used only with the Emergency brake system ON which kicks in most of the time as it detected bikes and other two-wheelers on the roadside most of the time. Mahindra please give us the option to switch between Normal Cruise control and Adaptive Cruise control in AX7 L D AT.

5) Waiting for wireless Apple car play.

As per Mahindra's website, this one is not Scratch Resistant and is made up of Non-Woven material.
The other one, which costs 3800 is scratch Resistant made up of Spun Bond. Don't know how well it will last.

Also, there is no option to remove hungama altogether from the app.
Mahindra needs a lot of time to fix this Alexa. For me, If I use the car 10 times a day, Alexa will only work for 1 time.

Dealer quoted 95k for AX5 Diesal MT 5 seater. On negotiating, he has given me a quote from Liberty for 69k.

Isn't there an option to turn ACC off in the MID settings? I am curious to know what happens if that option is turned off and the cruise button is pressed. Does it automatically turn on the ACC?

I have a doubt regarding CC as well, I have the manual version with regular CC. Whenever the Cruise button is pressed, the Cruise Standby prompt appears but toggling the set button doesn't show the current set speed or any changes to it. So, we are clueless as to what speed is set.

My delivery for AWD was supposed to be on 7th Feb. After multiple calls to the dealer, they told that vehicle is not billed yet as they were facing some internal issues since 31st Jan. Seems my delivery is going to be pushed after 14th Feb.
