Thanks for the confirmation, the percentage is the same as quoted to me. I'm a bit confused as few websites show 18% for vehicles >20 L, could be old information. I have made the payment and dealer assured all receipts will be issued by the Parivahan website. Let's see.

Edit: saw the post from UltraViolence after I posted, now makes sense. Thanks again, not sure why the dealer is not able to provide this basic information.

Add ~11% cess and "road safety tax", total road tax in Karnataka comes to ~20%. So, yes, dealer is quoting the correct amount.
You could check the same on parivahan road tax calculator.

If I remember correctly there is a cess/infra cess levied again as a percentage of your road tax, somebody who has recently registered should be able to confirm.

Thanks as usual for the detailed updates. The break screeching sound has been a real bummer. Can you shed some light on what are the updates made to resolve this. Is it something we can also update on our already delivered vehicles, or ask mahindra to rectify under warranty?

Good to see that you are finally getting your car. Many many Congratulations!!! Wish you many happy miles.

I am also expected to get the same variant, but the delivery date has changed already 4 times . Now it's probably in Mar'22.
I have one question if you don't mind sharing - was there any pressure from the dealer to go with their costly insurance?

This was not the case at least with the XUV 500.
The AWD will always kick in whenever there is a wheel spin and doesn't wait for the switch to be pressed.
This is different from engaging 4H or 4L in a 4WD.
I saw in multiple other reviews that the AWD in XUV 700 also will auto kick in whenever it detects wheel spin. We can additionally engage AWD manually using that button when we need. So functionality wise, both are same.

My road tax comes to around 20.77%. It is 475479 for ex showroom price of 2289000. Remember that the road tax is calculated on the new prices which mahindra released, so the tax is more now even if we got price protection.

As promised, here's some latest info on the XUV700.

That's all for now. Next update will come on next Saturday I.e 12th of this month. So stay tuned for that.
Loved all the points you mentioned, good to see Mahindra is proactively fixing all the reported issues. This is why we wanted to wait for a while before booking it but since these upgrades are coming in the next few months i believe by the time of our delivery (Sep/Oct) the vehicle will be almost niggles free.
Now i only wish they add the much deserved features like reverse camera, power folding orvm and push button start in the AX5 variant. Also if the engineers can manage to incorporate ambient lights in the car it would be the icing on the cake.

Waiting for 12th now for more info !

Thank you so much. It's been an agonizing wait, in desperation I booked a Seltos Diesel GTX+ AT as there was no clarity and delivery date was pushed week after week. Just imagine I finished the PDI of Seltos and was about to make the downpayment when I received a call from dealer that my XUV 700 was billed and was in transit. Had to abandon the Seltos. Must say Kia Epitome were pure professionals and understood my situation, I had informed them earlier that I'm booking the Seltos due to delayed delivery of XUV 700.

Long story short, your patience will be tested due to lack of clarity on delivery timeline, hang in there. I almost blew my chance of owning one

Yes, same amount. Wish they had held on to the old price for some more time. Not sure if it was fair for Mahindra to revise the prices when they knew stocks was always going to be a challenge. The govt must be thanking them for making customers pay that extra amount due to price revision.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Does XUV700 have functional roof rails? If yes, has anyone installed a roof carrier? With the tiny boot space available, this is a must for family trips. The new kid on the block - Carens - has a bigger boot but the roof rails can't take load.

The roof rails are not functional at least in higher variants. I am also trying to explore the option to install a roof carrier. Might need to check with Thule ppl or Mahindra on how to do it.

As per discussion with my SA, there are 2 types of roof carriers are available, but those are mainly for variants without panoramic sunroof. One particular type can be fitted in all variants, however they are not recommending roof carrier for any model having panoramic sunroof. The loads on the carrier can damage the sunroof and it can interfere with sunroof operation.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I was involved in a test drive of the AWD variant, pros as noticed premium feel interiors, improved noise isolation compared to XUV 5OO, very informative and all inclusive touch screen digital dash board. The door handles may have mixed opinion, sunroof layout is very good, cons, 2nd row not as spacious as XUV 5OO, no sliding seats, 3rd row space is very narrow and bumpy on rough roads.

An AWD owner shared this pic.
The MID displays the Torque Distribution.
Quite a thoughtful integration for this variant IMO!
