Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

The location to install reverse camera for AX5 and lower variants has been changed by Mahindra. There is no drilling is required as the location is same as of Ax7. The quality and angle is good.

I have mixed feeling about this as it does not integrate and just pops out.

I asked the dealer but they seemed clueless regarding that. There are some vendors who sell Fastag nearby the highway tolls. Should I get it from them? I hope they’ll be able to register using the chassis number. The total fines would rack up to 1000+ rupees I guess. Thank you Krishna for the tip. Appreciate it.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Dear Krishna, I was able to create a fastag card thanks to your suggestion. Registered using the chasis number and loaded some money to check if it was working. Also checked on the Fastag app and the tag shows active status. Thank you so much. Won't have to pay the fine tomorrow

Note: Ignore the 999999 vehicle number, I added it after editing

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hello bhpians.

As promised here's latest dope on the XUV700.

1. Mahindra is working on improving the interior plastic quality of the XUV700. One of the parts that they are working on is the slab of plastic that runs over the twin screens. Launch of the same is expected in the next 6 months.

2. Some owners have reported noise from front suspension when one of the wheels goes into a pothole. Mahindra has changed the front strut mounting to eliminate this problem.

3. Similarly Mahindra is working on improving the finish of plastic around the rotary knob which controls the infotainment system. They are likely to give it a matte finish.

4. Mahindra has taken huge efforts to have a large stockpile of regular spares which are stored at their Chakan facility. This is said to reduce any unneccesary wait for spares. Its also said that accessories come from their Kandivali plant.

5. After receiving software update version 8, customers will see a noticeable improvement in both performance and fuel economy of their petrol/diesel XUVs.

6. With the current updated software, battery drain issue is said to have disappeared. Also Mahindra will roll out version 9 around April which will enable both AA and Carplay.

7. And in other (and irrelevant) news. According to my sources who had driven the Ford's version of the XUV700, it had a notably superior dynamics package and also it had a metal tailgate but the overall silhouette was the same as the XUV700. Ford also were going to offer a 5 seat top end variant unlike the XUV700 but alas....

That's all for now. Stay tuned for more info.

First point - shroud in displays is an eyesore to me as it looks unfinished to me. In certain reviews it seemed to have misfit plastic panels.

Seventh point - the bigger Ford.... Will be missed from the depth of my heart. I would definitely have paid premium for that.

I am really surprised to hear this, I was looking forward to this joint collaboration between the two companies but I was in the assumption that the joint venture was called off.

We are hearing AA and carplay rollout date as "next month" from November and now the date is seems to shifted to April. I hope we can get the update before our warranty expires.

No one is telling why it is getting delayed for months.

Has anyone tried changing the spare tyre in XUV700 (preferably AX3) to host the standard tyres? Curious if the tyre well where spare tyre is kept has enough space and any other hassles in doing this?

Am planning to replace the speed limited spare tyre with a normal tyre for peace of mind. Any thoughts or advise?

Technically it must accommodate tyres upto 18" - when you get a flat and use the spare, the flat tyre should go to the spare's place, isn't it? So it should fit. And I don't think they have different setup for AX, MX series and then 17", 18" wheels.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

What may prevent this is the thread length of the mount and then of course, GC may go for a toss.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Just booked the XUV 700 AX7 L Diesel Variant. As usual was told a waiting time of 1 year +. Hopefully I get the car sooner.

I test drove the AX7 version and couldn't connect my iPhone to the car via CarPlay. Does is still not have Apple CarPlay ?

Any idea when that is coming ? It is surprising that many small car manufacturers and 3rd party audio sellers car get CarPlay but Mahindra cannot.

Please update if anyone knows about this.

Thanks
