No, however if you consider the various threads that are dedicated to the DPF issue, all have had the same theme - short city runs. This will not allow the engine to be hot enough to burn off the particulate matter.

Yes, there is an option for manual Park Regen in the user manual but the recommended process is anyways the long drive at low gear and high rpm.

I don't know what will be your decision, but just wanted to convey that my driving requirements are very close to yours and I've booked a diesel.
By the way I've read people reporting mileage in range of 7-13 for petrol and 8-18 for diesel

Anyways diesel or petrol, happy driving
As you rightly said for such distances it is a matter of personal choice. Take a call between cost and the pleasure of the drive. I also do not drive more than around 6,000 km a year, have owned a XUV500 since 2012 and have booked the XUV 700 Petrol AT Luxury variant.

1. What are the real world city and highway fuel efficiency numbers of the petrol AT?
2. My usage is less. My current Honda city is almost 11 years old and just touched 80K. Is it OK to go for diesel if the petrol fuel efficiency is very poor? Daily usage will be 4-5 kms in city. It will see 3-4 highway trips a year. Will I be hit by the DPF issues. Will it be more expensive to maintain.
Given your low running, I would suggest petrol. You don't have to worry about DPF issue or any NCR like restrictions for Diesel in future. Monthly fuel bill may vary by few hundred bucks only vs diesel as your running is low so it shouldn't hurt that much.

I know it is not easy decision but if you want rational call then petrol it should be. Otherwise go with your heart and enjoy Diesel

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Has anyone else felt the manual IRVM in XUV700 is just horrible? I need to flip the switch to night mode and then tilt the mirror a bit to see the car behind; and flip and tilt back if I have to go back to normal mode. It's unclear for me why this is happening as the glass angle does not change when one flip the switch; and the glass should work like the mirror. I used to use auto dimming IRVM in Baleno and a manual one in Ignis, and preferred latter for its clarity. Clarity is bad too in XUV700 when in night mode.

Yes. I felt that too. If it’s not going to work,I may better replace it with a good aftermarket IRVM

Happy to share that finally yesterday my SA informed me that the Vehicle came to stockyard the night before (AX7L AWD White). If I wish, I could come for PDI and immediately I agreed to go for the PDI. I reached Sireesh Auto Silk Board showroom around 2 PM. I requested my SA to accompany me for the PDI and she agreed to come along with me to the stockyard. She also arranged for a demo XUV 700 manual AX7L car for me to drive to the stockyard. The PDI in-change Mr. Mani was very generous and courteous. He is also extremely knowledgeable. He showed me all the details which I requested and told me to take the delivery after 9th March as there is some new software update is coming which he can update so that I don't have to visit again.
Post the PDI, I came back to the showroom to discuss on the insurance/accessories etc. Insurance they have tie ups with 15 companies. I requested quotes from traditional players like TATA AIG/ ICICI Lombard, also finalized on few accessories, there was no pressure on anything.

The delivery is planned next Friday, just counting the days now

You will not appreciate it but your wife would certainly. in my case it's the first used feature as soon as she gets into the car. In the night you need light on the face to see yourself in the mirror.

Panel gap next to the bonnet looks big and uneven. Was the bonnet not completely shut while taking this picture or is it because of the angle with which the picture was taken?
Gap seems more at 1
It becomes less at 2
Edges seem to have slight mismatch at 3

@owners of AWD, I saw someone on an FB group had reported vibrations between 50 and 70 kmph. Did anyone else face the same?

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

A person from the showroom where I bought the car visited my house today. He pitched a voucher pack priced at Rs.999 which has 4 vouchers of complimentary car wash+75 point checks and 2 vouchers of Rs.1000 which can be adjusted against the paid services. One voucher of Rs.1000 which can be adjusted against body shop bill in case of any mishaps (1000 deducted from the owner’s contribution after insurance claim). One 1000 rs voucher for AC service. It sounded like a good deal but I was quite apprehensive about a showroom guy visiting customers. Is it common among Mahindra service centres?

Thanks for highlighting, I did not notice anything unusual at that time. I opened the bonnet and closed it. Not sure if it was closed properly. But the pictures show some gap, I will check on this again.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Some more update to my earlier post regarding missing front bumpers in new XUV700 parked in Mahindra stockyard. Today I happened to look closely and found many XUV700 parked in the dispatch area without the tail light installed. Looks like the production problem is more than the semiconductor shortage that the customers are being made to believe.

Not normal. Take an toothbrush and WD40 and stop rust from spreading. Would suggest you to spray some permanent anti rust coat on these exposed lugs.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Though MX base variant got slightly less power than AX but then it provides a slightly better mileage too as per sources.

It's analogue instrument cluster, small touchscreen infotainment system and least tech makes it less prone to niggles, most likely.

So, is Base variant, MX in XUV700 Diesel Value For Money at 16.40 L OTR keeping in view omission of probable tech / sensor issues ?

Hi Guna, we've driven our XUV7OO for about 1500 kms now and there are no vibrations at 50-70 kmph or at any other speeds. Though I did face a few minor issues:
  1. There seems to be some noise from the suspension coming from the rear. Though it is noticeable only in low speeds.
  2. Alexa also works intermittently - The Alexa icon disappears and reappears on its own volition despite having updated to the latest version. Some commands such as opening the sunroof, closing the driver side window, etc. were supposed to work even offline but the Alexa icon just doesn't come up sometimes. Have tried signing out, signing in to no avail. Have even done a factory reset but the issue persists. I guess maybe Alexa doesn't work if Vodafone network isn't strong. In my neck of the woods, Vodafone coverage is patchy so maybe that's the case.
  3. The front suspension seems to just "crash" (for lack of a better term), rather than absorbing the potholes at low speeds. At higher speeds, the issue is lesser.

Other than that, no issues to report from my end. Loving the XUV7OO.
