You can consider this too. It's a little bulkier but takes AAA drycells that should last a couple of years for typical usage in boot space. It's hooked to the hook for the seatbelt; holds well and is bright enough.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Dear All, Finally received my car yesterday. I have been part of many car buying experiences so far, but buying XUV700 has been a completely new experience for me. Staring from the waiting for next-gen XUV500 to be launched, rebranding as XUV700, pre launch teasers, features, booking madness, multiple changes of delivery dates and what not - all these make the experience a completely different, interesting and memorable one. Team BHP has been an integral part of this journey and I want to thank all members who have kept the spirit moving by posts, feedback, suggestions. Personally I am extremely indebted and want to share my sincere thanks and gratitude to all.

Now regarding the delivery day experience - it was very smooth. I reached Sireesh Auto Silk Board at 2:30 PM with my wife and kids. The delivery happened by 4 PM. There were total 4 deliveries scheduled for XUV 700, two midnight black, one silver and my white one. The overall experience with Sireesh Auto has been great, they were also quite apologetic for the changes in dates, but I realized that it's not in their hand.

Post the delivery, I reached the Petrol Bunk to put fuel. There were very little fuel in the car and the warning message was coming again and again. Finally I went to a nearby temple and did the Puja.

About driving experience, total 50 km driven so far and it was smooth and enjoyed it thoroughly. The first thing I ensured to keep the ADAS off. I will try those post being little more familiar with the car.

@owners of AWD, I saw someone on an FB group had reported vibrations between 50 and 70 kmph. Did anyone else face the same?
Thanks for your observation. I visited the showroom and service centre regarding the bonnet panel gap. There is indeed a small gap which was not caught by my eyes. They told me that it's quite normal and not a problem. I also observed few more cars with some panel gaps. If they put pressure on the bonnet to readjust , it can damage headlamp. I also let it go considering a minor issue. Regarding vibration, did not feel anything yet in my small driving experience so far.

It indeed looks like minor issue and the gap may look exaggerated in that angle.
Congratulations on getting your hands on the beast!

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Have been following this thread for ages! thanks to all the members for super useful info! I finally am about to pick up my AX7 AT (non L) in about a week or so (hopefully). Mahindra status update says reached dealership, but dealer hasnt gotten it yet :-). But i got the VIN and its a Feb 22 vehicle.

Btw, during random manual reading online, i found something interesting. Wasnt sure if this is the norm with all vehicles, but Roll over mititgation stops working after 120kmph. I was suprised by that!. Feels like it would be even more useful at higher speeds if folks suddenly react in worst case scenarios. But i do not know if this is the norm in suvs or if its unique to xuv700.

And one more thing, if someone has managed to install roof carriers on an AX7, please do share. I see that there are roof bars in the accesories list, but i guess one needs to fix a carrier on top of those bars? i couldnt find options online and it feels like installing on bars (as opposed to the roof line directly) would raise the height even more!

Bro,

Congrats.

My case is just the opposite, the dealer has received the Silver AX7 L AT Diesel in their yard yesterday. Online status shows estimated Delivery between June-18 to July-18. VIN Decoder shows the vehicle was manufactured in Feb-2022. I am doing PDI on Monday.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Team,
I booked my vehicle on 20th February, got payment receipts from Dealer.
However, no emails from Mahindra yet in my mailbox.

Though, I got a SMS that "Mahindra is working on my order and will reach me around 2 months ahead of my delivery. For current and future updates on my delivery, I need to click on a URL that they shared on that SMS.

Anyone else faced similar issue ?

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I have been facing an issue in my AT XUV700 When I apply brake and release it around 20 to 30 km/hr speed I hear a thud. This sound doesn’t come at speeds above 30 km/hr.

Checked with the SA and he came with up with a highly technical explanation - “The brakes in this vehicle is like this only because Mahindra has given everything to the brakes”

Which is the best Mahindra ASC in Chennai?

I am currently using the services of AMPL Guindy.

I hear that AMPL is the best among all MAHINDRA Service Centers in Chennai. So you are currently using the best option available.

I am hearing the thud too in my vehicle. The SA said something similar. They didn’t have any technical explanation to it.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Today my petrol automatic stalled when it was in crawling speed. I shifted to park and tried starting the engine. This is AX7 with push button start. It kept cranking and in 4-5 seconds I released the brake assuming the engine is not starting. But to my surprise, the moment I released the brakes, I could see the RPM display indicating that the engine is live. With the city noise, I could barely here cranking/engine sound; so I am basing these on the MID.

I had my previous car, a Baleno CVT Petrol stall exactly once in 5+ years on a sudden braking; I wasn't expecting an automatic to stall while crawling. The fact that the car continued cranking till I released the brake is weird too. Wondering whether this is a mechanical issue or a ECU bug. I did not feel any change in engine noise or pickup.

After I parked and switched off the car in an open but basement parking, my neighbour told that there is petrol smell near my car. Figured out it was coming from exhaust; after a good 10-20 min of switching of the engine. While I know that this is not very unusual, I am wondering whether the stalling and the smell is related - like a spark plug issue? I tried idling the engine after a few hours for ~10 min; I couldn't notice anything that I felt clearly abnormal nor the petrol smell.

I will call the service advisor tomorrow but wanted to see if the fellow bhp-ians have an advice.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

After days of following up and escalations with Mahindra , got the news last week that my vehicle is billed and will be delivered this week. Scampering to get my finances ready now.

Was also looking for accessories and ppf/ceramic coating. Got a quote from Autoriz. As per them, the cheapest ppf coating will be 120000+ 18% GST (garware ppf- mine is a white car) and ceramic will be around 55000 +18% GST ( Ultra 9h) . I asked for a mix of ppf and ceramic and i got a quote for 85k + gst for ppf ( bonnet and fenders/bumpers) + ceramic other parts. Is this price good enough to go for ? or is it too much ?

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

So, after a long and thorough discussion in our family, we finalised the 7OO (variant, type & seating option) and I completed the online booking formalities earlier in the evening today.

Received the welcome phonecall from Mahindra Auto almost immediately after my booking was registered successfully, followed by the Whatsapp update detailing the OTF number and Online Reference Number.

Details here.

What was interesting that I received not 1, but two phonecalls one after the other. While the first one was the usual, the second one was from someone from Mahindra who had all the details regarding my 7OO, and proceeded to inform me that they have my chosen variant and colour shade in ready stock and that can be delivered to me in a month through my dealership, if I wanted.

Now this is a pleasant surprise. Not because these guys are working overtime on a Sunday, but because of ready availability of a variant that too for a booking done from a Tier-3 city.

Will discuss with my fam, look at the finances and decide.

65k for ceramic is on the higher side. 3M at More Mega Store, Sarjapur road had quoted 32k for ceramic coating. I got graphene coating (Ethos Matrix) done from Rapid Carz Spa, Sarjapur road; I think currently they are charging 27k.

I will surely check with 3M tomorrow. What about ppf and the combination( ppf + ceramic) ? Do you feel that is also on the higher side ?
