Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

My colleague had booked AX5 M P version in BLR in December, next week she gets her car. Looks like petrol variants are getting delivered fast.

Wow, doesn't that look good! Any ideas on how much that would cost?

More than the XUV I liked the Thar wrapped in same color (Are my eyes deceiving me there?)!! Looks so understated yet striking.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hello All. Had a quick question for all. If we drive the AT in manual mode, do we need to rev the engine to minimum 2000 RPM to upshift? This is what was told to me by my SA. I did try upshifting below 200RPM but it did not work. Mine is a diesel.

Can any of the forum members kindly confirm this. I do not see any such mention in the owner's manual either.

This is a problem not just with Mahindra but across car manufacturers, I personally have experienced this problem with all my VWs over the past 10 years.

There are two solutions that I have found to be helpful, one is a product called Agrid's chrome polish (you could search it up on the forum there have already been threads about this) and second is using a polishing compound (this may scratch or dislocate badges).

Agrid's product has been a blessing to help me restore the shine on my 7+ year old chrome components but it seems kind of funky.

I hope this helps and would also like to point that I am in no way associated with Agrid

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I currently own a Brezza ZDi. Pretty happy with it's niggle free 65 month journey so far. Would have changed it long back, however thanks to the lockdown, it's barely driven in the past 25 months, courtesy WFH, which is kinda permanent.

The last 4 months, the car has however seen 2 road trips and done 12,000 kms. What I felt was the need a competent automatic with Cruise Control and that too adaptive, Front parking sensors, a higher safety rating. I definitely do not need a 7 seater as daughter will fly for studies next year & son goes to boarding. That just leaves the car for the 3 of us (Mom, Wife & me). Kids will be only there during vacation.

I was checking the AX5 Automatic and was surprised that Mahindra isin't offering (even optional) the Luxury pack features, specially the ADAS etc on any model apart from the AX7L.

Then in this scenario, the AX5 is similar to Harrier in terms of features. Am I right?

So should I go Harrier or the AX5?

And did I miss mentioning that I am all in for the BS6 diesel

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Just realized that most of us have completed half year of waiting period, hopefully the wait ends soon. I am guessing majority would be awaiting the diesel variants.

Use Coke and rub it with aluminium foil over the chrome parts. Rusts will disappear and the chrome spares will look like it is a brand new one.

A few doubts and queries ---

1. Is there any way to play music through Amazon music app through Alexa?

Regarding Alexa : wasn't aware that it can open Sunroof as well ? Please let us know how to open it partially, curtain, fully, etc

Music: Though I have used XUV 5OO for 10 years but we were still of generation before Alexa, Amazon Music, etc. Can see that lot of people want to play music using these apps. However, I am a die hard fan of using Bluetooth connectivity using my phone. As I have created several playlists on my Spotify account that I would like to listen using Bluetooth Music.

Am I missing something here ?
