He was very excited when buying this one but very sorry to see him selling it within 2 months. Hope Mahindra is looking at it and will prevent this issue from happening in all their cars.I guess it has to do more with service center capability. Untrained/Unprofessional guys can ruin any brand's reputation.

I too follow this Youtuber occasionally since I am planning a trip to Leh/Ladakh.

Service Center capabilities or rather lack of it can break any brand and Mahindra really needs to up its game here.

I really like the XUV 700, but have been keeping away because of issues i faced with Mahindra when i owned a Thar & a Scorpio. Might buy one, when Gen 2 XUV gets launched. Right now, contemplating to buy the Scorpio N.

This is the failure of the service center and not the product. Selling the car is not the solution for this. Ideally he should have censured Mahindra and the service center.

Cheers

I follow this guy as well. Although I feel sorry for all the trauma he has gone through, here are something I am not clear about.

1) He calls this vehicle "Maut ki Machine" many times in his video and says he would not prefer anyone to be in such grave danger with their family and friends. Yet, he went ahead and sold this car to another guy who too has a family? Isn't he risking that guy's family by handing over the keys of death to his hands?

2) He is a famous youtuber and has many followers, why didn't he go for a legal battle against M&M for selling such a product and seek compensation or replacement product? I am sure with his influence he could have won the battle quickly.

3) Faults are common on any vehicle, but this is the first time I am hearing issue with the entire breakline. His video he didnt mention anything about what M&M did to resolve the issue. Had this been a repeated issue, I would have agreed but this is the first time it happened and he could have taken a chance by seeing how M&M is responding to this situation.

4) His recent vehicle Fortuner also broke-down. Again, not sure what is the cause for two of his brand new vehicles to breakdown within few months/weeks of delivery. Probably his bad fate or a bad driving behavior.

I am not against this guy, although I follow him a lot but I am not very convinced with his actions.

He does mention the root cause turned out to be a master cylinder malfunction. It is rare but service center should have performed proper diagnostics during the 10k service. I think most service center guys simply ignore diagnostic errors, clear them and give out the vehicle. It’s high time they provide separate service centers for consumer and commercial vehicles.

Mahindra service definitely needs to do better but this does seem like an isolated case. Hopefully this issue will not be seen in other cars.

As for the brake pad wear and rattles, you should see some of his other videos, performing drag races, extreme off-roading sessions and not to mention had his car opened up to add mods, get rear seat removed, etc.

Why did this guy sold a problematic car to someone when he is calling it as "maut ki machine" due to braking issue which was never discussed earlier in any of his vlogs. He recently had issues with his fortuner but then he is tight lipped about the issue. This guy has lost all his credibility with his actions.

Not going to comment on the modern day youtubers/vloggers and the manufacturers obsession with them - gets on to my nerves!

But just want to highlight one feature of EPB to the owners/prospective owners - EPB provides controlled deceleration parking (CDP) feature exactly for these scenarios where the master cylinder/other brake components malfunction, pull the EPB in these scenarios and the ESP kicks in to bring the car to stop.

All these things are done by the new-age VLoggers for just sensation/ click-baits.
Not only him, but if you just watch any of these new ones, then you will observe that they just hunt for unnecessary actions with some haywire title of the vlog that people will open it to found out that they have been fooled later on.

Yup, I agree he mentioned about that cylinder issue but it seems one off instance. I am just thinking about the guy who bought his car spending 25L+ only to see how unsafe this car is.

Sorry guys, if someone buys a brand new car and then immediately tries to offroad, do a drag race , try to charge multiple devices at one time in cold climate and then cry that the battery has gone out, i would call that guy an idiot and nothing else. With his Fortuner also going down-either he is a bad driver , stupid or very unlucky or a combination of the three rl: Please don't blindly follow these youtubers

This video has got 4.8 lakh views in 1 day. That’s huge.

Hey Folks,

A few questions on Adrenox x Alexa app
1. Has anyone been able to get Alexa to play music via Spotify in the car? I have linked my Spotify account to Amazon in the Alexa app. If yes what were the steps? Whether through the Alexa app on the phone or directly through voice command in the car infotainment?

2. Through the Alexa app on the phone, I have been able to check on the status of various elements of the car; eg. Check tyre pressure (also reads out each tyre pressure), Check lamp status, Check ODO reading etc which do not need the 4-digit pin. But when I ask Alexa to start the car, it asks me for the voice pin (same as the one in the adrenox app) but it says cannot connect at the moment? Anyone know why?

3. Came across an interesting news release on the amazon website regarding the integration of the Alexa App with the XUV700. Here it also mentions that you can effectively operate the remote features from the Fire TV stick as well! I couldn’t get my fireTv (same account) to do it. Anyone tried that?

Cheers!

How did you do that. I am able to set up my XUV700 as a Device on Alexa app on my iPhone but it does not recognise any question about the XUV .

Is the granular detail on the booking such as vehicle in manufacturing / shipment visible on the Hamesha app? For whatsoever reason, I am not able to get past the registration step, as it throws an error that my mobile # is not registered, and the registration detail asks for Chassis / Vehicle Registration Number :Frustrati

Cheers,
Vijay

You have to just link the Mahindra skill using your Alexa App on Phone. When the app navigates to Mahindra site for authentication, please use the username and password that has been used on the Adrenox App.

I agree completely on the lack of focus from Mahindra on improving the diagnostic skills of the service technicians, especially those who handle cars with advanced features and controlled by software. In my past couple of visits to service center, the courtesy and care shown to customers is top notch but the issues highlighted remains to be resolved.

I am facing the problem where my front left roof speaker was giving a sound distortion (interference) only when I am on phone calls and the issue seems to go away while listening to music. While I suspected a faulty speaker, the service person's solution to the problem was a software re-flashing. The noise went away for a few hours and was back again in no time.

Suspension noise is a common complaint for many and as in the case of others, I was also told that it is not a problem and all other 700s have the same noise. I was also getting loud noise from brakes when I have to move the car very slowly, like parking in tight spots and reversing out slowly, and the brakes are applied. I was told that the pads were removed, inspected and cleaned, but the braking noise remains.

My Adrenox app was not getting linked to my Alexa account and was giving an 'access denied' error. I had to do a screen recording and share it with the software specialist at service center. I could replicate the issue on the technician's phone as well. After sitting on it for 2 weeks, there was no resolution. Finally figured out the issue myself where a default setting on adrenox was preventing the linking. Shared my finding with the service center, which was something new to the service expert.

The recently trending 'hill hold error" , which I faced 2 times, was also checked and the resolution was again a software reset. I was given the car back with the update that the issue is resolved. Went for a test drive with the technician and the error re-appeared on MID while the service guy was sitting with me. He told me to restart the car and it cleared the error as usual. He then assured me it will not come again:Frustrati

The car was returned with the service mode ON, which was just a flick of a button on the MID for me to disable it, but it just shows the time spent on diagnosis and lack of attention in properly closing the issue.

Totally agree. The service booking slot on Hamesha app shows 4 slots per 30 minutes. The service center seems to be packed with cars and the staff is always rushing from one vehicle to another. Mahindra should definitely look to separate out the service of premium vehicles with skilled technicians and add more service centers.

I don't think he is against any specific company. Like any modern day you-tubers, his focus is on getting viewership through his dramatic narration and 'shocking' experiences. He started off with lot of excitement when the car was new and going by the trend, he is now focusing on the issues more. While brake failure, hopefully, is very rare and a result of a careless service, some of other videos, like the one in which he tears open all the speakers to counter company's claim of Sony speaker set-up seemed ridiculous.

While I don't care much for these YouTubers, I am seeing a lot of owners complaining of issues on their XUV on various social media platforms. Not very comforting with the delivery coming up soon.

Unfortunately, there aren't many viable alternatives. I was considering the Compass but the rattling issues scare me. The Thar is, of course, a dream and keeps tugging at the heart; I may still go for the Thar but it will be difficult to convince the family.

Yes, all different cars and I need to make a call soon. It isn't easy.
