Hi All,

I have a booking for XUV 700 D AT AWD AX7 booked on march 8th 2022. I recently received a call from by SA that there’s been a cancellation from another client and there’s a car available in the same trim as my booking with the only exception being that it is a Nov 22 manufactured car.
Is that something that can be a troublesome in the future, should I wait for a newer model? I’m not sure why the car which is nearly two months old at this point is still not given to anybody else. Is there a possibility it was sent back to the factory after a failed PDI for some defect?

As I can see there hasn’t been any change to the car between then and now and I’m not sure if there’s something I’m missing. Requesting your wise counsel in this regards.

Thanks in Advance.

November manufactured XUV700 sitting at the dealership for 3 months is a bit worrying. Even with a comprehensive PDI from your side might not be enough to rule out any major issues.

Since you booked in March 2022, your CPD would be just around the corner. So you could wait it out and take the car that would be assigned to you if you are not in too much of a hurry.

By the way which dealership is this?

Also got the Pharoah 3D mats installed. Top quality and great fit. The mats have an extended lip over the door sill that prevents dust and sand from falling under the mats while entering the car. Cost was 9400 shipped.

Can you tell where did you get the mats from? Do they have different versions for AT and manual?

I am also using these mats for the last 6 months. There is a small piece which covers the third row foot area, nothing for the luggage area behind the third row.

If you don't mind, can you pls post a picture?

I ordered from https://www.pharaohautomotive.com/pr...car-floor-mats . They haven't mentioned anything specific in the website for the different versions, but they called me before shipping asking if mine was Manual or AT. So, I guess they do have two separate versions

While high beams are ON, I see a black band separating the high beam and low beam. For me this feels really annoying as it is right at the center of vision. It happens only when the head light level is at the highest setting. For lower ranges the high beam seem to get merged with lower beam and the separator band is gone. I'm attaching a video to give you a better idea of what I'm taking about. Posting here to know whether this is a widespread issue as I've seen the same problem in my friend's XUV too.

Just a misaligned headlight. ASC can fix this in less than 5 mins. They will ahve a leveller board kept in front of the car at definite distance, park car on flat surface, align the beams and you are done. The levelling screws are finicky, very delicate. Don’t try these yourself.

Here is the picture of the mat in the 3rd row; as I mentioned it does not cover the entire floor like the one in the 2nd row

Interesting, I always thought that this was a design flaw as we have 2 XUVs in the family and both have the same light pattern with a black band in between. Note that this is much more pronounced when we are on b roads where there are multiple turns and dark pathways. On the highways or in the cities, this is not as pronounced.

Sorry for the dirt, black tends to get dirty, I had the beige ones in XUV500 and the dirt did not show on them:::

These are costing 9.5K, M2ALL's 7D mats are nearly the same price (10K with 10% discount). I have them in my car and they cover the carpet completely for all seats and the boot too. Since they are twin layered, the top mesh part mostly collects all the dirt.

I finally booked the AX7L Petrol AT today, which shows an estimated delivery of 1st Feb'24. Although my SA at PPS Mahindra says they can deliver in 7-8 months.

I was a fence-sitter during the XUV700 launch regarding upgrading from my 2013-make EcoSport AT. But after a breakdown Jan'22 (third time in 2 years), I started looking for options. XUV700 ticked most boxes on paper, but waiting 92+ weeks made no sense.

I was looking only for petrol AT since my run is less than 8k/year. I decided to wait as there were not many options which can be called an upgrade from EcoSport in terms of safety, space and features. I booked HyCross in Nov'22 just to make sure I am ahead of the queue in case I like the price/feature etc. But after looking at the display car itself I was underwhelmed by what I was getting for 37L on-road.

That made me revisit XUV700 and I was surprised that the waiting period is now 52 weeks! Still quite long, but almost of half of what it was a year ago. So I decided to take the plunge. In hindsight it is not that bad since Mahindra is known to sort out the initial niggles of new models in about 2 years, at least as per most experts in this forum.

I am sailing in similar boat like yours...

I booked XUV700 AX7L Pet in Dec22 and I made exact same conclusion about Hycross.
If I have to define Hycross in a single liner, it would be...Simply not worth the price for its Interior, fit and finish, Features, Infotainment System, Looks, Engine, etc...especially when I compare it with XUV700.
Absolutely not worth the price of 37L at all.

Deep inside, my heart too never agreed for Hycross.

When in Nov22, it was teased. I called a known nandi Toyota SA, he asked me to visit after 26th Nov, once its Unveiled.

I visited the showroom on Hosur Road after 26th Nov to enquire....found most of the Sales Staff are already riding on some sham wave of future sure shot success of Hycross.
SA Didnt bother to explain any thing on Hycross, directly bought the Booking docket and asked me how I would like to Pay.
No discussion on colors, availibility. price (was unknown that time)

Their adamance or attitude made me left the showroom immediately.

Checked Mahindra Showroom again on timelines for XUV700, though the offical waiting was reduced to 48 weeks, SA told I will get car in 7-8 months.

Took few days to make my mind, and went ahead booking XUV700.

In Jan 2023, when HyCross was finally fully unveiled with Price, I patted myself for the decision to go ahead with XUV700 in Dec22:cool:

Need help from folks who own a Petrol variant. My exhaust is making pretty loud noise and it sounds more like a decade old diesel vehicle. One of the major reasons I bought the petrol variant was the lesser NVH compared to diesel. Now the service centre executives claim that this noise is completely normal with XUV 700 P. They even compared it with a test mule they had and it sounded just the same 😳. I’m pretty sure that my ride sounded much less when I had taken delivery and I’ve driven only around 4K kilometres until now. I request owners to please listen to the attached video and suggest if it sounds too harsh. If that’s not the case I guess I’ll have to add this to the list of items that we should just live with 😛.

Hi aswin_s, I too own a Petrol XUV700. My vehicle's exhaust also makes similar noise. I think its completely normal noise for a 2000 CC fat monster breathingrl:. Please have no worries.

I have P AT which has done about 10K km till now. The idling sounds similar in my car, and was always the same. Revving high sounds about same to what I have noticed while pulling the car out from some tough spots with its windows open. A friend of mine has a diesel Alcazar and I have felt both sounds equally loud from outside. I hope the NVH levels are great inside the cabin. I only notice some annoying noise from the AC compressor inside the cabin.
