Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

A query to the XUV 700 owners here. Does Alexa read out the Watsapp messages like she reads out the text messages. I am getting a message "something went wrong" when I click on the watsapp message on the screen.
Also one silly question, I know it would be a safety feature, but can you make a video call from the screen

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hi All,

Got my XUV 700 AX7 on May 7th and completed my first long drive Bangalore - Ooty - Masinagudi - Bangalore. Must say that Vehicle is a charm on the highways. Nothing to complain about. The only thing which frustrated me in these 700 + kms is the instability of the carplay. I would lose maps at important junctures.Couldn’t listen to the playlists I jad saved on my Apple music or Amazon music. Alexa was also a hit and miss. My other car being a Grand i10 ,I haven’t had a Carplay or AA disconnection in 3 years now. The Carplay on XUV usually worked when I stopped the engine and started it again. But we all know what kind of a mood breaker that is on highways. Didn’t expect these kinda issues on a 25 lakh + car. Hope Mahindra sorts it soon

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hi All,
This is my first post here. I have been watching this space for quite some time. Meanwhile I booked my XUV7OO AX7 P MT last year Jul'22. My estimated delivery date was May'24 initially, which got revised multiple times and till this March it had come down to May'23. But in April, I received a message saying that the estimated delivery time has further changed. When I checked it has changed to Jul'23-Aug'23, though I noticed that it now shows BS6.2.

Now as I am preparing, want to understand what are the things I need to start working on.

1. Finance - sorted
2. Get latest checklist for PDI - Anything apart from the checklist that I need to be aware of?
3. Explore insurance options - Where to start?
4. Things to take care during delivery?
4. Accessories - Which ones to go for? Mahindra or after market?
5. PPF - Is it worth the money? Any recommendations in Bengaluru? Any first hand reviews on the service?
6. Anything else, please add

I may have missed few conversations if these are already discussed. But any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you in advance,

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Expert opinion required on hissing noise(remember a train stopping with a noise) while braking.

My XUV700 has done 18000 kilometres so far. For the last 1 month have been hearing a hissing noise while braking and bringing the vehicle to standstill, but this happens only when driving through bumper to bumper traffic. The sound was evident in the driver side but today the same hissing noise started faintly from the co driver side also.

Service center folks maintain that this is a common phenomenon in AT vehicles but I feel this is uncommon.

Request expert opinion here.

Few other updates in the last 4 months.

1. Carplay disconnects as usual in wireless mode even after the latest software update. No issues in wired mode. So I am mostly in wired mode only. Peace of mind here.
2. Latest software update is the best yet as it almost stopped the loud thud sounds which randomly comes while the car is in switch off mode. Yet the thud sound came only once after the latest update.
3. Coolant drain issue due to a O ring went kaput. Fixed after four of visits to dealer. Still keeping an eye on the coolant levels.
4. AC conked off. A major research was done and a Technical Assistance Report (TAR) was sent to plant team and they tracked it down. The culprit was a sensor going kaput.
5. Front Brake pad changed at 16000 kilometres on insistence by service advisor. Next time I will wait for an alert in MID.
6. Recent highway run returned 15 KMPL on cruising between 80 and 100 kmph.
7. The lights performs really well and more than sufficient for highway runs. The booster lights after 80 kmph speed is a gimmick.
8. No DEF issues so far.

Finally I want to make things work by finding a fix for these issues and I am fixing my mind to hold on for long. It’s a battle between head and heart.

Hope Mahindra reads this thread and needs to do more quality checks.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Since the last one month observed that the suspension sound is more. Especially when driving on rough roads. Feels as if something is loose and shaking.
Complained when I went to Anant Cars Bannerghatta Service center for the 10K service today. With a little bit of pursuasion and a chat with CRM resulted in replacement of the lower arms. Now the suspension feels as good as new.
Later the Tech told me that Mahindra has decided to replace the lower arms in all the earlier cars in phased manner. Company is sending parts in small lots to the dealer. Dealer is replacing as and when the cars come for service.
Those who are still having this problem may contact your dealer and escalate to Mahindra Customer Care, if required.

?

The oil was leaking from a loose nut near the engine which spilled all over the bottom part of the car and the oil leaked from multiple places underneath which explains the wide and long oil patch.

The towing van driver was calling it turbo inlet but that wasnt it.

The car was towed at 10 ish and the work started by 12:30.

I had to push them a little to start the work at the workshop. I could understand that my car is not the only one there but I was with a family in a hotel and i was about to check out. Hearing this they immediately took a look.

The leak was identified and fixed promptly. Two service advisor and 1 mechanic worked even during lunch hour on the car and fixed it.

They created job card after fixing the issue and were about to issue a gate pass when they suddenly got call from some Mahindra office in bangalore to throughly re check and record the incident as such a new car developed this issue and they wanted to get into the root cause.

A senior service engineer was assigned and a different mechanic was asked to work.

They recorded a video and re checked every thing again.

Meanwhile i got a call from the gm of the dealership assuring me full support on my way back.

They handed over the car by 2:30 pm and I was on my way to madikeri.

The same dealership in mysuru have an outlet in Madikeri and they actually sent service people to my hotel the next day to recheck if the issue is still there. And they gave the all clear for onward journey.

I am impressed.

I too had my AX5's lower control arms changed a few months ago. Initially, I too felt that the sound was reduced significantly, but later, I have been facing a strange issue. Ever since the arms were replaced, I feel that the suspension has become stiffer than before. I can now feel every small variation in the road surface, and the ride has become very bumpy. I have complained about this to Mahindra, and they have asked to install a fresh set of control arms and then observe.
Also, after driving around 3000 km, I feel that the dug-dug sound is back. Overall, for me, this replacement did nothing but ruin my car's ride quality. Has anyone else faced this issue post-control arm replacement, and is it even possible that the suspension becomes firm after control arm replacement? Suspension experts on the forum, please help me out.
At the time of the arm replacement, all four alloys were also changed (due to scratches), and wheel balance and alignment were performed. Is there a possibility that the new alloys or improper balancing are causing this bumpiness?

My initial impression after changing the arms is that the body roll seems to have increased. But it was a very short run. I will be doing another 2000km run shortly. I will know better then.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

An update for my AWD AX7L:
1. Got rear sequential indicators installed. Had messaged Customer Care on Twitter. Got a response from my Area Manager the next day.
2. Software update done. Apple car play is finally installed. Have to test the stability of the software and plan to go on a long drive for the test.
3. A compliant has been registered for the football in the boot noise. Let’s see if it falls on the deaf ears and some resolution for the issue is generated. I suggest all fellow Bhpians who hear this noise from the fuel tank to register their complaints so that some recall is done for the replacement of the fuel tank, similar to the suspension noise.

Drive safe!

Alexa cannot read messages from WhatsApp or for that matter any messaging app.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Got my 2nd service done today at Salasar service center. The total bill came to about ₹5300 which included DEF top-up. Really happy with the service costs for a premium vehicle.

Sequential Indicators
Also got the rear sequential indicators installed. Every service center receives limited rear tail-lights buts these are not assigned to any particular vehicle. The priority is decided by the service center, first priority is given to cars purchased from same dealership as service center and 2nd being tail-light recall visible in system against your car.

In my case both conditions were met but I still had to push them really hard. Their initial reply was you will get a call from Mahindra (which I highly doubt anybody gets) or that others are still waiting for their. Thankfully I had good rapport with this service center and they're usually considerate to requests.

Software Update
Got system software updated as well. Lost all user profiles in Adrenox :\. I was hoping to see Apple Maps (via Car Play) in instrument cluster but alas, it's not there. I wonder what happened here, Mahindra had marketed this feature with so much fanfare touting it as being the first brand in India to do so. I hope at least the volume-lost-after-phone-call bug is fixed in this, will report back after using it for a few days.

Camera quality (frame rate) seems to have improved.

1 year experience
Overall experience so far has been really nice. I faced almost 0 niggles except CarPlay related and a minor alignment issue. No suspension noise, no football in boot, nothing. Get decent city average of ~12km/l as well.

Thank you in advance,
My 2 cents:
2. PDI covers most things. Just check if the accessories are fitted well.
3. Start with your local agent, if you have one. Else, policy bazaar is very good. You can ask for all inclusive package and couple of ones below it and compare. Local agents could give a further discount than policy bazaar.
4. I would suggest to stick with Mahindra. you can check my post on accessories which I got, plus there are other opinions also but what I have installed is the maximum folks recommendation and I can't agree more. The side steps are a must have in my opinion.
5. I did not see value in PPF but it is down to personal choice.
6. Make note of start stop functionality, I was surprised 100 meters at a red light after I took the car out of the showroom . I had thought the car stalled as I was not aware of the functionality. Plus it was my first drive of an AT so that added to the confusion.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

People,

I had couple of questions to ask (AX7 AT D):

1. I have set my driver seat electric adjustment to number 1. But I want the welcome feature to default to 1 too. Now whenever I enter the car, the welcome feature works but I have to electric adjustment 1 button to bring the seat to adjustment to my liking. Any solutions?
2. Can the maps displayed on apple car play be shifted riverside instrument cluster screen than the main screen?

Cheers,
Vins

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

My car has got service action for Coolant pipe 'O' ring replacement. Specific batch of cars have got this service action.
The service center has said that the car will be kept for more than a day for the same.
Has anyone done this on their car?
