Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Is it possible to get wheel alignment and balancing of XUV7OO AWD outside Mahindra service center?

When my vehicle's steering was not in center, Mahindra workshop did recalibration of vehicle using laptop after wheel alignment.
Not sure if after every tyre rotation/wheel alignment and balancing whether the recalibration of vehicle system with laptop is required.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Quick update..

Got the front brake pads worn out warning yesterday. Car just completed 18k. Post second service at c11k my driving habit has become very aggressive (both acceleration as well as braking). Went to service center today morning. Cost of replacement came to c6.5k. SA told that in normal driving front brake pads should last minimum 20k. Rear brake pads were also checked and I was informed that they are good for another 5 to 6k.

Today, my keyfob started indicating low battery on the mid. This is the only key I have been using since Nov 2021. Does its battery not hold power and drain within 2-3 yrs? My last key from dZire lasted for more than 5-6 years.

Also, do we need to use the spare key often or it's fine to keep it safely?

Please keep alternating between both the keys every 6 months at least. It’s a good practice to keep both in good shape.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Need suggestion from esteemed members. Does the silencer pipe in this photo showing early signs of corrosion? The car drives in NCR and has done around 21k KMs / 18 months owned. If this is corrosion, what should be my course of action?

Don't fret too much. Even I saw that and got spooked out on the 5 day old car, when I had taken him for an underbody coating and this on a car that was manufactured just a month back. The 3M guy I took it for the coating to told me not to worry as this is very normal and he applied a silencer specific coating on it along with the bitumen that was applied on the rest of the underbody.

Can you please share the details of underbody coating for your car?
The products used in different areas. The cost and time involved. I'm thinking about the same for my garaj (xuv700 AX7L) and your info can help me decide.

Thanks in advance
Happy driving

Mahindra ASC's at the VVC service center recommended me to get that coating done on the silencer in that initial year itself to avoid rusting or that burnt look but I didn't go for it as I was not sure if its necessary at all.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hello experts!

Any suggestions/recommendations for seat covers for XUV700 AX7L in Bangalore?
I have ventilated seats on front row. So, I want to have covers only for back 2 rows.

Also, is there a way all wind shields get closed when we lock the car/ push some button? I did not find such functionality in XUV. Am I missing something?

Regards,
Narsingh

I don't think we have such option for all 4 windows(my experience with AX7 manual).
You will be able to open driver side window and skyroof simultaneously by pressing unlock button on the keyfob with a longer press.

Recalibration of vehicle system is a MUST HAVE after every alignment and balancing. One service center did not do that for me, and it was a big pain. Later when I got to another service centre, they explained it to me, that this being in electronic power steering, recalibration is needed. They took a good 1-2 hours in calibration, driving and testing the vehicle, but end result was highly satisfactory.

As a corollary, I do not think you should get the alignment and balancing done outside of MSC.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

This is a request to fellow XUV700 Owners in NCR region; can you please recommend any Good Installer of Dashcam for my AX7 AT version.

I would love to have it "Clean" hardwired, in case any good installer sources an independent connection from Battery with a Fuse in between. Otherwise, I plan to keep it powered from a Spare USB slot in Front.

I have zeroed down on two Models with Starvis 2 sensor-based cameras but would love to hear recommendations.

Thanks in advance!

PS Moderators: I have posted a similar but not same query in "The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread" but got no response.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hello all
Need some advice from the experts.

I'm driving my gajraj(AX7L D MT)since 2yrs (36k kms)and and it has not troubled me (except for a few check engine and one or two blank screen incidents). But today morning around 7am when I started the car, many alerts popped up. ESP system, auto hold, traffic sign recognition error, aebs error etc. The steering felt very heavy. I switched off the car and waited for an 1.5 hrs and tried again. Same errors were persistent.

So I called Mahindra service executive and he asked me to get the car to showroom. I didn't want to drive in such condition so requested him to send someone with a scanner to check for errors before driving it . This may take some time but I've a beater car (eon).

Now the help/advice I need is..

What could be the probable cause?
What points should I keep in mind while they diagnose or rectify the issue?
Anything else I should be worried about and I'm not considering?

Thanks in advance

Happy driving

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Are there any rat issues in the placces you usually park? Please check if any cables are chewed by rats. Had a same issue with my previous car XUV 5OO where rats had a gala time and I was welcomed by Diwali in the instrument cluster. Took two days for the service centre to completely check and rectify the issue.

Dear Mohit,
I own an AWD AX7L. I faced a similar issue when all the alerts popped up on the screen when I was reversing into a parking spot in a mall and the steering became quite heavy. I went to watch a movie, came back after three hours and restarted the car with only the yellow coloured engine light on.

3.20.24 OBD Check Lamp
The OBD check lamp illuminates when the ignition is switched ON and remains ON till the engine is started indicating normal status. If the lamp remains ON, it indicates a potential malfunction.
There may be a malfunction in:
• The fuel management system
• The emission control system
• Systems which affect emissions
Such malfunctions may result in excessive emissions. Contact a Mahindra Authorised Dealer immediately.

After checking the manual, I deciphered it as a "Limp home" mode, where the engine is on bare minimum operation. I drove back home normally but felt a muted response.
The next day morning, I again started the engine and the same light was on. After pressing the engine start-stop switch, without pressing the brake, (did not start the engine, only the accessories) the engine light went off. Driven about 700km after that without any problem. If this happens again, will definitely get it checked at the service centre.

Do keep the status updated here so I can also get some more info as to why this happened.
Thanks.
Drive safe.
