Hi Team,
I have booked an XUV700 - AX7L (Petrol, AT, 7 seat) last week. The dealership (Sireesh Auto) has stock on hand for my preferred color (Silver), so expecting delivery to happen in a week’s time.
Had couple of queries, and looking for some confirmations for the same:
a) The shared VIN of the car points to March 2024 manufacturing. Having read through TeamBHP’s other thread on “Old” New vehicles, I believe it should be ok? Have roped in Zekardo for a PDI, just to be safe.
Unfortunately, no discounts being provided (except allowing insurance from provider of my choice).
b) Believe the 2024 manufactured XUV 700s now get OTA updates for infotainment/Adrenox? Having read through the issues/niggles getting sorted with latest updates, is it worth pushing dealership for latest software before delivery, or let the OTA updates do their job? |
Congrats for your purchase.
Mar24 manufactured vehicle should not be a problem.
OTA updates are not so easy to get. In my 9 month of ownership have not received a single one. Ask the dealership to make sure that you have the latest when you take delivery.
Congrats once again!

a) Any car in stock for 3 months should get you discounts. For this model, i was quoted 30k cash & up to 70k loyalty.
b) Mahindra dealers are very clear about no third party PDI, so do ensure you have approval in writing
c) There are cheaper options than Zekardo -- as low as 600 bucks -- that i came across while visiting several dealers
Absolutely love the 700 PAT. If only it had ACT or drive modes for better fuel efficiency!
The joint in the hose for windsheild wiper fluid gave up again (hose came off during use, twice in a month); got it replaced. Increasingly reminded of RavenAvi's post sometime back mentioning Mahindra having cut corners in areas not readily visible.
Also noted the camera view to be slightly rotated counterclockwise (one side of the rear bumper visible in the field of vision, other not) ; the dynamic guidelines however seem ok. The SA said this is how it is in most XUV700's & showed 3 other XUV700's with varying degree of similar tilt to support his claim as well. Maybe this is Mahindra's version of making the screen more centered towards the driver!lol:

Thanks mate for the response!
Just to cross check - was the INR 30k cash discount over and beyond the insurance reduction (which for me is reduction down by 50% of original quote from Mahindra)?
Will check explicitly with the sales team on the 3rd Party PDI.

The days of overinflated insurance are over. Take the policybazaar quote and ask them to match it. Insurance reduction is NOT a discount (unless something like free for first year as in the case of Seltos).
For my AX5 DAT, the insurance is coming to ~47k.

So, you got the discount on the ex-showroom? I always heard them saying that either insurance or accessories can be discounted, but never ex-showroom. I am also getting an April manufactured vehicle, but no discount offered.

I have booked the AX5 model – the ex-showroom price has officially dropped by 50k + they've added new features (cruise control, steering-mounted controls, rear camera, and a push button start/stop). The production for this updated variant has just started, so there is a small waiting period.
For those eyeing the AX7 and AX7L , I got an offer that included a 30k cash discount plus a 70k loyalty discount (which actually applies to all variants). I wasn’t focusing on those models, so I didn’t get a PI made, so I’m not entirely sure if this discount is reflected in the ex-showroom price. (It is NOT on insurance: I was categorical that i would get insurance from outside)
The market has turned – it’s no longer a seller’s market. It's a great time to bargain and be an informed buyer.
Here’s a tip I used for getting the best discounts: ask the sales head what variants are in stock for immediate delivery. Dealers usually pick up stock on credit, and the longer it sits with them, the more they want to move it = discounts! You should be able to negotiate a better deal on any car that has been sitting in the stockyard for a few months.
Hope this helps.

Can you tell me whether loyalty discount is given to mahindra owners only or it can be availed by others too.

Strictly to Mahindra owners. They will match the previous RC.

+1
I had also checked during my purchase. My BIL also has XUV. Still the request was refused.
Just to update: No luck with squeezing for anything more other than 10% accessories discount and freedom for my own Insurance provider.
Records were shown that even though car is manufactured in March 24, it only arrived with dealer on 22nd May. Examples were also shown where some Feb 24 manufactured car is still in transit and not received by the dealer.:sadface
Even discussion on walking away bore no fruit.
PDI with Zekardo was no drama at all for the dealership team.
My experience with Zekardo was good. They called and confirmed the slot. Created no scene when I asked them to shift by a day. Followed up with me to confirm the revised schedule. The real icing on cake was the engineer assigned (Mansoor). Young lad but thorough professional. Stayed in touch with me from day earlier.
Arrived 5 mins earlier than the planned time. Was very courteous and patient. Explained me whole process and things he will watch out for in XUV700 based on past history. He was a known face at dealership and number of dealer staff came to shake his hand and wish him well. Reminded him not to be biased to them but, to me.
Did a very good job (at least what seemed to me). Picked up very very minor details (which I could not even fathom to pick up and would surely have looked over).
Overall car passed the test with just two minor niggles (a small paint chip under the bonnet hood, and a battery that needs recharging). Sales advisor provided written confirmation to fix both of these prior to delivery.
Looking forward to next milestone (delivery on Sunday) now.
Just so that any future XUV700 owner is mentally prepared - do not expect perfections wrt how panels sit on your car. I personally saw 4 XUVs in stock yard and each had more than 1 panel that can be deemed loosely fit. :Frustrati
I guess they were shuttled around between dealerships. Or they were hidden away in a yard somewhere to play up the whole “car shortage, wait for months or pay whatever we ask” angle.

Based on the Billed and Booked labels on almost all of them (except 1), I would hazard a guess that there are still people like me around who are late to this party called “Take my money Mahindra, and give me those niggles”. rl:
Jokes apart, yes all dealers now seem to have inventory.
I got my 3rd free service done yesterday.
.
The SA told me that software update for driver side door switch is pending since they did not have the necessary clip tool. He said he will call me as and when it becomes available and I should take my car for updation.
.
I asked him why such an update is required and what is the change in switch functionality that can be expected after updation but he says there will be no change. Then what is the need for an update ? Beats me.
.
More interestingly he says update will be done with tool clipped in to the door switch unit and not through silver box.
.
Has anybody gone through this step and can you throw light on why this is required ?

Enjoy your new car. The potential discount isn't even 1% of the cost, not worth losing sleep over.

Thanks. I'm getting the car delivered soon. Hopefully, without any issues.

Mahindra has jacked up production, mostly taking care of the backlog.
But the XUV is one of the rare cars out there where you may have to wait for a particular variant since the demand is still enough.
It's mostly the low selling variants -- petrols and manuals -- that are lying in stock.
