Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I had done the booking done with an offer for accessories for 20k, where the SA told that the offer will stand only if I book the same day, which I did. Now the dealer is saying that offer is being withdrawn due to new pricing. However, on the docket handed over to me on the day of booking, it was clearly written that the prices on the date of delivery will be applicable. Below that they mentioned the offer too.

Now they say that the offer is given to customer with a component from dealer's side (50%)... I know for sure, that this sounds completely ridiculous and has to be a white lie. Had the prices increased, they would have happily taken the increased price without changing the offer at all, but now trying all possible ways to save money. Now, I wonder, what if the dealers just go back on their words even without any reason. How can one hold them to their words given by them at the time of booking??

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

HI guys.

Which would be a good dashcam to have ? My budget is 5-11k, mostly city drives. Need a dashcam to record untoward accidents / safety etc.. My parking space has its own CC TV setup and hence dont need a dashcam for parking surveilance. I saw that modern dashcams have GPS/ ADAS/ LKA etc, which i dont need as the car has it by default. Need a dashcam and memory card suggestion which allows overwriting of previously recorded videos / or automatically cloud uploads. Dont wish to do any hardwiring

Is this a local paper advertisement from your city? What date was the advertisement published. Keep the full new paper to be presented as proof of change in Ex-showroom, not just the paper cuttings.

I have not seen an article before 9th July about the price drop. The price cannot be retrospective. Because the Ex-Showroom cost change needs to reflect in RTO system as well to change the Road Tax value.

If the paper advertisement is from your city that came out on or before 9th then, you have a good case for consumer court. But there is a possibility of printing mistake (1 instead of 10).

But then, if the dealer is holding old price, they are bound by the old deal as well, so you must get the accessories at least.

It is really nice to see when people value time.
During my purchase experience in Bangalore, I saw the team were very considerate of the customers time and availability.
I am a little finicky about auspicious time during vehicle purchases.
Example, I took a test drive between my regular meetings on Friday. They came a few minutes early and waited before calling me. I had mentioned I will not discuss about vehicle on Saturday. So, got a whatsapp message with info I had requested, but no calls. Also I had told them the timings between when I will come for PDI, payment and delivery, They ensured all activities were completed within the time range, they told me how much time the process will take etc, so we planned accordingly.
Yup, that was the case only. He made an exception for me. MY RTO was deposited late evening the next day with a number allotment on the 2nd day post delivery. I have gotten the number plate installed on the vehicle today. It was such a hassle-free experience and the sales rep kept me in the loop for the whole time. If anyone looking to buy a Mahindra vehicle from NCR, especially the East Delhi/Noida/Ghaziabad side, drop me a PM and I will share his number.

Also, where can I find good aftermarket options for sidestep? The official ones are being quoted for Rs 26500 while aftermarket ones start right from Rs 8500. Please guide me to a reasonable yet good one.

Also, I find the rearview camera as well as the OVRM just average. Also, need a good dashcam for the vehicle. I did see some mirror dashcam options but need suggestions from people with first-hand experience. This is one of my priorities for the vehicle.

Bought GFX Mats, Matt Screenguard, Bumper protectors, Sporty pedals, MagSafe car mount and last but not least mudflaps for the vehicle. A couple of them from outside but most of them from the dealership itself.

+1 for the same. Dont mind spending a bit extra but something which can replace/sit on top of the OVRM with live rear camera footage is preferred.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Advertisement is in Economic Times, New Delhi edition dated July 17th. In terms and conditions section, they have mentioned that offer starts from July 1, as you can see in the picture. This is not the case of printing advertisement before 10th July. It is a mistake most likely. But brand should be careful, here is a hurt brunt reader :(

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hey folks, just wanted to journal the recent issue I've faced with my 2 year old XUV700 AX7L AWD (44,000+ kms). My car was among the first batches produced by M&M, and while I expected there to be some niggles in the first batch (it being a Mahindra and all), the constant service centre visits have become a headache with me having to miss going to office because of the issues. The current issue I'm facing is:
  • Tailgate refuses to lock because the mechanism is somehow bent - idk how it got bent since it literally has no contact with anything in the boot.

Will be going to service centre tomorrow to get it fixed or the lock replaced but I have to say this one thing - Mahindra really needs to look into its Quality Control because while I love the brand and its customer centric approach, I would also love it if the parts were reliable and didn't fail ever so often. Till now, that is, two years and 44,000+kms later, issues and niggles I've faced:

Mechanical Issues
  • O-Ring Pipe burst while driving on highway leading to overheating of engine. Mahindra later issued a recall for the same.
  • Control Arm issue from day 1 - ultimately leading Mahindra to recall and replace the LCAs.
  • Front Passenger Side Power Window Motor Failure within One Year - Replaced Under Warranty but surprising how quickly parts failed.
  • Rearmost seat latch mechanism failed within 1.5 years leaving me unable to close the rearmost seat. Had to visit service centre (120kms away - up and down) just to fix this.

Software Issues
  • BSOD (Black Screen of Death) Issue - Still unresolved to this day, 2 years after launch.
  • AdrenoX app still unreliable - despite paying for the subscription, Mahindra still can't make it work properly. If I try to use the app functions to unlock the car, the app keeps on loading forever, making it faster to run down the stairs from my 1st floor room and then open the car using the key.

Anyway, I will be taking leave again from work and have to go to the service centre (120kms away) to repair the boot door tomorrow (if parts are available). While the ASC is quite good and the Service Manager is also very helpful and sorts out my issues on a priority basis, there is a lack of parts since the ASC is small. Fingers crossed that they would have the part in stock if they need to replace the mechanism. I did check on boodmoo and the part number is: 0114DW601231N, if anyone else also needs the same.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

The price cut has made XUV700 lucrative buy. I am in market looking for 7 seater.
I casually asked one of the dealership in Hyderabad on availability of new colours - Deep forest, Burnt sienna. They haven’t delivered any cars in new colours yet, but have quoted delivery time within a month if I book now.
Is it better to book online or offline via dealership? If you book online and find any issues with the car during PDI, or don’t like the colour, can dealership delay delivery and provide car in same or other colour?

Better to book with the dealer. There will be a personal touch and they will have some incentive. Booking online will not give you any added advantage. If you change colour, the delivery depends on availability and you will be in a new queue again, it may take another month.

Also because you are unsure of the colour, keep the sales person transparent so there are no surprises later.

Do check the following if you can stretch budget by 4k. I got it for my car. No hard wiring needed/done. Works off the USB port at front. Has rear cam as well. Quality is good. No issues (touchwood so far), except the fact that it uses wireless connection with phone (meaning at a given instance you either have wireless CarPlay or connection with the cam).
All other bells and whistles present but, optional (can be kept switched off).

Thank you for the advice. I would go with booking with dealer directly.

There are 3 dealers in Hyderabad - Automotive Mahindra, Neon Motors and VVC.
If anyone in this group has taken delivery in past 6 months from Hyderabad, which dealership is recommended and has SA who shows interest and responds promptly

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I recently had the 10k km service done to my AX7L D AT. A part of the service was an ECU flash which i was not informed about.

Post service, there has been a major change in the feel and driving characteristics of the car. The ideal behavior of the car was to drop into neutral after letting off the throttle post-acceleration. This gave good coasting and cruising was a breeze in any gear.

But now, the transmission holds the rpm even after letting off the throttle. This causes cases such as 4th gear at 65kmph @ 1800-1900 rpm. The gearbox wont upshift till 2k rpm hence, holds 4th gear in this situation. But when you let off the throttle, the gearbox holds the rpm. 4th gear isnt big enough to provide engine breaking at this rpm and the gearbox doesnt go into neutral either. Result is a constant boomy sound of the engine being spun at almost 2k rpm.

Only solution is upshift, but not possible as upshifts below 2k rpm are restricted and the in city driving, you often dont have the space to go from 65 to 72kph which is where the car crosses 2k rpm in 4th gear and upshifts.

The ASC guy says this is normal behavior and the car is okay.

Has anyone else with a D AT encountered this?

It seems Mahindra is teasing me. Today's Times of India, Noida Times, dated July 19th. Same full page advertisement stating offer starts from July 1.

Thanks very much for your recommendation. I am in Hyderabad now and booked service for tomorrow's morning slot at Neon, SanathNagar.

Unfortunately, Sireesh, Bangalore doesn't have slots till Tuesday and I cant wait more as Car is already touching 11k

At Neon, spoke to SA Umar. They have Maxmile Ultra v4 available.

Going for just normal 2nd Service as I have to leave for Bangalore as early as possible.
Few complaints + Wheel Balancing and rotation will get addressed at Sireesh Later.
