I didn't track my vehicle as I was getting constant updates from showroom. They created a whatsapp group and posted the updates regularly. My vehicle arrived on 27th July and did PDI on 29th.

As for tyres I didn't see any need to upgrade them as my main driving will ve un city.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

When I'm in the carplay navigation screen, or carplay youtube music screen, changing temperature does not show up in the screen, so there is no way to figure out what temperature the car is being set to. This is not the case when I'm not using carplay. Any idea how this can be fixed?

It happens with me too. It always works if I do it twice, i.e. the second turn of the temperature knob always shows up. Do try it.

1 usually , second movement of knob pops up the temperature ( please note that the use of word "usually" is intentional as we're having a Mahindra )

2. You can ask Alexa to change the temperature by 1 degree and see/ know it .If Alexa is working at that moment (because its a Mahindra)

Happy driving

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Dear Bhpians,

I'm planning to upgrade from my 2020 Verna D MT to the XUV700 AX7L D AT AWD. The primary reason for going AWD is to tackle those off-roadish adventures I've been missing out on due to my sedan's ground clearance.

I'm keen to hear from existing AWD owners about the real-world benefits, especially in these scenarios:

1. Highway performance: Does the AWD make a noticeable difference during hard
accelerations?
2. Cornering grip: Is the AWD system effective in improving stability when taking corners at speed?
3. Hill climbing: How does the AWD handle steep inclines, particularly in rainy conditions?
4. Snow performance: Has anyone taken their XUV700 AWD to snowy regions like Himachal or Kashmir? How confident does the AWD system make you feel?
5. Maintenance costs: What's the additional expense of owning and maintaining an AWD system?
6. Differential oil: Is it necessary to change the differential oil frequently, especially after driving through flooded roads?

Any insights and experiences would be greatly appreciated!

You can check out my detailed mileage here https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-...ol-review.html (Mahindra XUV700 MX Petrol Review)

On road price difference = 1.3L
Opportunity cost saved with petrol = 1.3L*0.08 (Capital gains after tax) = 10K
Depreciation assuming both petrol and diesel will resale at same price after 10 yrs = 13K / yr (linear depreciation)
Additional Maintenance & Insurance = 3K /year

So overall you will save ~10K / year. This is a small amount compared to the overall car ownerships cost. So pick the one that you like regardless of the economics if your running is ~10K / year.
If both of you love driving you should buy a car which gives you pleasure to drive; a petrol car is anyday fun to drive. After owning 2 Diesel XUV500's one after the other I went for a Petrol XUV700 AX7L and I have not regretted it.

I also want these questions answered.
I have just booked a Ax7 AWD
I am yet to own one. Looking forward to it.

1 and 3. Apparently yes. Someone also mentioned that even in steep flyovers, it kicks in.

Please check the linked comment.

I got the PDI done through Zeekardo and the showroom people allowed it without much hassles, except once he mentioned (when they delayed the PDI by 2 days) that they are preparing it well as I am bringing 3rd party for PDI.. . As mentioned by someone, the zeekardo person used obd scanner and it is a very small device that needs to be connected below steering wheel area. This can be done easily when seating at the driver seat, so you may still go for it.

In my case, the scanner showed the actual run of vehicle to be 111 KM, whereas the instrument cluster was showing only 67KM. The guy told that it is common for dealers to do this tempering a bit when they drive the vehicle to-and-fro from stockyards. Perhaps, to avoid the discussions on this topic, he may not be allowing you for attaching obd scanner. You may threaten him to go elsewhere if insists for no obd.

One thing that always works is reduce/increase the fan speed by 1, that pops up the fan speed display. This action overrides the apple carplay overlay over the temperature control, and then after that any changes made to the aircon will pop up on the display.

Something is amiss here. I suspect inaccurate calibration. The additional kms could be reset at the factory after testing the systems. But dealer tampering with the meter for few kms doesn't seem to be worth the effort and risk.

Is it possible to reset XUV700 odometer would Mahindra allow full access like this to dealership on a new software.

I am not sure, what could be the reason of the mismatch between obd reading and the actual odometer reading. The Zeekardo guy told me that it could have been tempered and the reading mismatch isn't that uncommon. I anyways went ahead with the same piece regardless. The showroom guys gave the reason to be a possible test-trip at the factory itself, which could also be true. Someone with better insights could perhaps shed some light on this matter.

In general, I found Zeekardo helpful in two respects that we ourselves can't do - getting results from obd scanner and paint check over the whole body.

I own Jan-2023 AX7L AWD vehicle and can try to answer some of the questions.

1. I do not have any comparative data to present, but have seen AWD kick in at times during the launch: primarily this was more visible in mountains than plains. Highway performance otherwise is absolute pleasure. It devours 1000+ kms in a day without breaking a sweat.

2. Again, I do not have any comparative data, and neither I drove it in a manner which pushes the vehicle towards the boundaries/limits. I never felt vehicle being out of control at any times, giving good confidence to the driver.

3. Hill climbing: Excellent performance. We recently did 30+ days trip to the North East, and the vehicle was challenged specifically in the state of Sikkim: broken roads, river beds, steep inclines and rains all around. XUV700 is extremely powerful and it never disappointed or got us struck. AWD specifically helped us in numerous occasions and a lot of local folks would stop near us and warn us to be careful ahead. The XUV700 rocked like a super star. Without AWD, we would have certainly not able to complete the trip with utmost peace of mind.

4. Snow: We experienced snow at Yumthang, Zero Point, Nathu La in Sikkim and then in Panga Teng Tso Lake, Sungtesar Lake, on the way to Zemithang and in Bum La in Arunachal Pradesh. AWD proved to be a real boss there. Many 2WD cabs including Tata and Toyota vehicles were struggling to even move 10 metres, whereas we were having good traction and never ever faced any issue. We were mostly part of first few vehicles to arrive at these locations to experience snow, and snow depth was not that much. But we drove on fresh snow and less on black ice.

5. Maintenance Costs: Not sure about it. All service costs have been very nominal and I don't think I would have paid anything extra as a major expense due to AWD. My vehicle is at 34K KMS as of now. Services done in Bengaluru and Guwahati centres.

6. No idea.

Hope this helps

You've cleared the doubt I had about spending extra for AWD. I'll proceed with booking the AX7L AWD. Did you complete this trip on highway tires or A/T tires?

Stock Tires: Bridgestone Ecopia 150 EP850 235/60 R 18. Primarily Highway tires. I am about to change the 2 tires in another ~1300kms as the depth left is around ~3.3mm, just after our long weekend trip on Independence day. Two punctures endured so far in 34K kms: one in Gujarat and another one in BLR. No other problem with the tires.
