Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hi folks,

I am about to take delivery of my new XUV700 AXL next week. I got the PDI check list downloaded. I was wondering if you guys had suggestions on accessories ranked from must have to good to have.

Thank you.

I have one manufactured in November 2023 and no such updates ever popped on my screen.
Is this OTA feature only for XUV's with an active Andrenox subscription? Can someone confirm on this?

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Recently completed OTA update on our 2024 March Petrol AT XUV700.
  • Took 25 minutes to complete
  • Seems like all 3 MID, ECU and INFOTAINMENT are updated, more in pics.
  • The maps still don’t show navigation blue line directions on MID.
  • The reverse sensor graphics has been moved from centre to right on MID.

Note: It needs engine to be on and vehicle stationary to start the update, I tried several combinations where engine was off it didn’t work. Not sure why!

Any experts from Mahindra can comment what exactly SOC, VIP, TCU modules are.

These are different compute devices in the vehicle. Think of them like small computers. There will be more than one in modern cars that are dedicated to specific functions.

SoC (System on Chip) - these are typically custom made chipsets. Could have functions like Body Control Module (BCM), HVAC (A/C) etc.
TCU (Telematics Control Unit) - This will be the one for internet access to pass on the vehicle logs to manufacturer and in our case Adrenox too. Thats how Mahindra support gives you a call when there is alert notification. I too got a call for DEF alert.
VIP (Vehicle Interface Processor) - This helps routing and prioritising the signals within the vehicle from various types of network ports and OBD-II port as well.

Found a link from a fellow bhpian who did a software update recently

If we are going by standard definitions,

TCU is transmission control unit. There might be some changes in how the gearbox behaves now.

SOC means either system on a chip. Basically the firmware for the adrenox system including the infotainment, instrument cluster display etc

VIP could mean anything. Probably some buzzword for some other module that you can only find out by looking at Mahindra’s software team’s notes or service manual.

Hi. Thanks a lot for the update. How much is your current odo reading?

Mine is around 17000. I have never seen steering assembly related issues popping up so soon.

Is getting a re-torque done a simple procedure?

This is what happens with my XUV. It appears randomly.

My AdrenoX subscription is active, but haven't received any notification regarding the OTA update as yet. Mine is an AX7 P AT (Dec 2021).

Just 4000km yes, its definitely not ideal. But the service center experience is fast and good, and the car is a hoot and a half to drive - is what I tell myself, when these niggles crop up.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Eagerly waiting for delivery of AX5 D AT.
Vehicle has reached the dealership, but unable to deliver as they say that keys received from Mahindra do not match the vehicle. Has anyone encountered such issues ?

The sound of your post suggests you are directly taking delivery. Are you not doing a PDI? Not to scare you but the reason shared by dealership is unusual and does raise some suspicion. Sounds like they are buying some time. Please do a thorough PDI - in fact I'd recommend to go for a 3rd party PDI service.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

PDI is the funny part. I have personally seen and inspected the vehicle at the dealer yard. The vehicle had a key which was used to start the vehicle and I got to check out the usual electronics of the car.
My suspicion is that the showroom guys have lost the original key before delivery and are requesting Mahindra for a new key.
How can we check if the key matches the vehicle ?
This is something new for me. Any pointers will be helpful.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hello,

Was wondering if anyone in Bangalore has had their Mahindra XUV 700 inspected by a 3rd party for a PDI? Does Anant Cars Mahindra allow a 3rd party to perform a PDI on their vehicles?

Any inputs here would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Every key has a key code and using the code one can order a duplicate key from the manufacturer. If you have atleast one key then you can safely take the delivery - other things being in order. In fact in 2022, when there was semi-conductor shortage in the market, M&M delivered 700 with a single key fob. The second key was delivered to the customers later. The new key fob had to be paired with the vehicle by the dealer.

PS - our name matches.
