Friends that have added step ups, does the step up really help elders to climb up? I personally don't see much difference in the height.

Does the read guard add value in case, adventurous bikes /cars get too close in Mumbai bumper to bumper traffic?
Congratulations! Wish you a wonderful ownership experience.

My recommended OEM accessories:

1. Screen Protector
2. Mud Flaps
3. Side Step
4. Rear Bumper guard

Third Party accessories:
1. 3D mats (preferably moulded and laser cut) - if you live around wet areas. I looked at a lot of them but finally chose GFX. Super happy.
2. 7D mats - if looks and luxury feeling matters more.
3. Magnetic sun shades / Sun film based on how much you like to dance with the law.
4. Dual Channel dashcam. I have 70mai A510 and am happy with it.

Side step makes a difference. My mom loves it.

Rear bumper/nudge guard does add value IMO. Stops pesky two wheelers from rear-ending you. Helped me twice already. Also some modicum of safety while reversing. It's a purely low speed/impact protection item. Even the side step sticking out a little does the same job as a side effect of its profile

IMO, they should launch this in India too
The Australian version also gets a three-point rear middle passenger seatbelt and an adjustable headrest.

Anyone who has had a three-point seatbelt fitted to their car? I am considering getting it done.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I had been struggling to find a place for my tyre inflator in the boot.
.
Came across a storage net option recently. Just bought and installed 2 of them on either side. Refer the photographs. Now the inflator is nicely parked on the side.
.
Have to see how long and how good the velcros will hold up.

This is an interesting find, few requests-
  1. Please share the link to buy this.
  2. Dimensions of your Tyre inflator box. I have the Bergmann, so asking for a reference.
  3. Does it cause any scratching or squeaking noise while driving? Or when going through bumps.
  4. Do you have to stick the Velcro strip on the side?

Thanks for sharing!

As you can see in the photographs there are two sizes available. Your inflator definitely can be accomodated in one of these.

I may have found a partial solution to the problem which I will explain below.

The charging bay of the phone has a thick flexible rubber mat. This is in addition to the plastic cover above the wireless charger located underneath. Refer to the photographs.

So there is a huge gap between the charger surface and the charging loop inside the phone. I think this is causing the charging problem. Ideally the distance should be not more than a couple of mm.
....
Charging being super slow, that has been my experience since I took delivery of my XUV 700 few days back. In fact yesterday, forget charging, I saw 1% battery drop on my phone

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hi Folks,

I have this observation in the first few days of driving the new XUV700:

Whenever the vehicle moves after being on Auto Hold / Parking, I hear a screeching sound as if the vehicle is moving out from some stronghold.

I related this to the sound I have heard when a train bogie starts moving ahead. At times the sound is too pronounced.

Has this been the observation of others too?

Regards,
Balpreet Singh

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I was looking to buy XUV 700 but despite repeatedly visiting nearby showroom and registering for Test drive, overall response has been quiet disappointing with an attitude of take it or leave it. But heart earns for XUV 700 and would like to know from owners of petrol vehicle what are common niggles associated with this vehicle and how is automatic transmission in this car?

Which city are you in. I had similar experience at one of the dealer in Mumbai. The other 2 were better.

I can confirm that the A510 wire is plenty long for the XUV700.
What's strange is that I just followed Chrisfix video and fit the a510 to my XUV 3X0 and the rear wire camera actually fell short.

Seems like 70mai has reduced the length of the rear camera wire to make some extra dough. I can see that they sell an extender for Rs. 1,000.

In contrast my older DDPAI had so much extra wire remaining that I struggled to hide it near the c pillar headliner in my old Honda City.

Imagine giving the rear camera wire so short that it fails to cover a sub 4m pseudo SUV.

I went with a Redtiger F4 4K camera. Primarily fell in love with the form factor. (Do note it falls back to 2K when connected with a rear cam.)
Talked to https://in.redtigercam.com support before ordering to add a rear camera and extended wire (claimed to be 33feet. default wire is 19feet) in the package.
I have installed the front cam so far (with OBD 2 Parking Kit). The rear one, I am waiting for a cold winter morning.

For 70Mai, nexdigitron sells a extended wire https://www.nexdigitron.com/products...cable-for-rc05

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I finally got my hands on the stunning XUV700 AX7 D AT, and what a thrill it’s been!
Just 20 days from booking to delivery—can you believe it? With a manufacturing date of September 2024, Mahindra & Mahindra has pulled off an incredible feat, slashing waiting times from the initial staggering 5-6 months to a mere couple of weeks!

After driving just 120 kilometers on the way from showroom to residence taking the delivery, I was blown away by how it glides over the highways, leaving my loving previous rides — an i10 1.2, an i20 petrol, an 1.6 SX AT Creta Petrol, and even the current peppy 1.2 WagonR AMT—feeling like they’re crawling. I didn't have to think long and hard for a name that captures its electrifying performance. “White Lightning” fits perfectly!

And here’s the kicker: the mileage! On that very first day of 120 km drive, I recorded an impressive 14.5 kmpl, all while enjoying some spirited driving on a bustling two-lane highway. But the best was yet to come. The following week, I took a 50-kilometer stretch on a smooth four-lane highway, cruising at a leisurely 73 kmph at 5th gear with the ACC on and minimal downshift / braking. I couldn’t believe my eyes when the MID showed a jaw-dropping 23.8 kmpl! For a fleeting moment, it even ticked up to 24 kmpl before settling down just a whisker below. Insane for a car and engine of this size, putting many hatchbacks to shame in mileage front!!!
And the bonus - no niggles till date after 1100 kms of driving in 15 days (except the thud sound from suspension on going over bumps).

Kudos to Mahindra for making such astonishing efficiency possible! They've truly challenged the notion that diesel vehicles are the villains of global warming. With the XUV700, it's clear that innovation and eco-friendliness can go hand in hand.

I am more than happy for my choice, which almost left nothing more to be desired from my stead, barring the spare wheel, which I changed on the very first day itself, taking a 32k hit for wheel and tyre, M&M offering no exchanges sadly...

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hey Folks, exciting times. Finally got my car delivery on 21st Oct. D AT AX7L AWD. DElivery experience was fine. I had done PDI before invoicing and did a quick one on delivery day as well, all was in order. Will start a dedicated ownership thread soon with observations but want to call out one thing that car NVH is lot better than the test drive cars I had driven. I was unhappy about vibrations during test drives but new one is so much better and refined.

Sharing few pics below. Found accessories from dealer bit over priced. CHose following from dealer.
  • Steel scuff plates
  • Mud flaps
  • Sun screen mesh
  • Metallic pedals

Got following from after market, reasonable pricing and better quality
  • 3D mats
  • Side step
  • Rear bumper guard

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hi Folks!

Was looking to book XUV700 AWD. My dealer has mentioned that AWD production has apparently stopped and Mahindra is not taking orders and is asking me to go for the FWD instead.

Just wanted to verify this from the forum!

Congratulations and many more miles to you.
It's true that it is a gem of a car. Sorry but I couldn't stop myself to share the latest high in mileage on my last trip

While this may bring a smile but the real tankful to tankful method is somewhat on lower side. Maximum mileage for a trip has been 19.84 kmpl for me (still impressive for such car). For reference my gajraj is AX7L MT diesel. Many more happy miles to you

Happy driving
