As per Dealers in Delhi NCR , AWD Models take 3 to 4 weeks for delivery . I can vouch for this because we booked an AX7 AWD AT at Shiva Automobiles, Patparganj with existing discounts offered for a November first week delivery .

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hi all,

Have a quick question. I installed 70mai dashcam in my xuv700. Since the 12v slot was in the back of the car, had to install it using the usb cable slot in the front dash. I noticed that even when i switch off the car, the dashcam is still on. Is this the default behavior. I am worried about battery charge if the dashcam is constantly on. Good from security perspective since you will now have footage when when car is parked. But still worried about battery. Can anyone help with suggestions please?

Thanks

  • Can you share when did you book AX7 AWD?
  • Has dealer shared any VIN number with you to confirm month of manufacturing?
  • Is the car recently manufactured or existing one from dealer stockyard?
  • Are you registering your car before October 31st and take delivery in first week of November?

I had a discussion with Mahindra SA yesterday and he is not aware if the discounts will continue past October 31. He said the price at delivery time will be applicable. This means if discount is not valid after October 31st, then AX7 will cost approximately ₹2 lakh extra.

Happy driving
Insane readings!!! And many congrats for being a proud owner.
For me too the tankful to tankful resulted in somewhat lower efficiency at 20.54 kmpl but as you see difference with MID was not much like yours.

For the particular up-down trip of mine the total distance was 128kms out of which around 110kms was on 4 lane highway and rest were mostly bumper to bumper traffic in Jorhat town in Assam by the of which MID came down to 19.7 also but started to gain once I reached back the highway. And fuel consumed was 6.23 litres in the same petrol pump, same hose.

I am still able to beat you

Engine Oil level increased in my XUV7OO D MT

I noticed rough engine notes, checked the oil level & found that the level was more than usual, it has been just 4k kms after the engine oil change and my usage pattern is 85% of highways. Will check with my MASS if there is any EMS update.

-This car was booked by my friend on Dussehra
-As per Dealer the car will be October Manufactured (since booking isnt mine , i will have to clarify regarding VIN from my friend)
-XUV 700 AWD wasnt available at their stockyard. After visit to multiple dealers in Delhi , Gurgaon and Noida not a single one had AWD variants available for ready delivery.
-Delivery and Registration will be only in November as per the dealer

Regarding the discounts , Our dealer said these discounts should be available in November as well for bookings placed in October.

Many congratulations, wishing you a pleasant ownership!

Which dealer is this?
When did you book?
Did you engage any third-party for PDI? Was it in the showroom or stockyard?

I think this deal will likely stay till the facelift is launched. There is an additional cash discount of ~50k on some variants, which will only rise as the year end approaches.

Hi. I own the AX7 P AT (BS6.2) variant and have been using it from Jan 2024. It has completed 13.8k kms (which is not very high). It has been an amazing experience owning it and brings a smile every time and makes you want to drive it more.
Coming to the questions:

Niggles faced-

Screen has gone blank 3 times, but everytime it either came back on its own or restart solved it. Nothing major. Recently got the OTA update and after that the issue hasn't repeated yet. Fingers crossed.

Other than this, everything else is working without any hiccups(touchwood).

No problem related to Engine and Automatic transmission. Being an AISIN TC, it will definitely be reliable. Behaviour wise, it doesn't excessively freewheel and upshifts at 1.5-2k rpm depending on the throttle input. We've tried pushing it suddenly while cruising and it didn't hesitate to downshift to 3rd from 5th or 6th and in such cases it holds the gear till redline (normal for any AT). Gearshifts aren't jerky and it does the job smoothly. Combined with the silent engine, it is a refined experience.

So you can definitely go ahead with it

A facelift for the XUV700 is incoming ? I haven't heard rumours of any kind or even spyshots .

I got it from Anant motors at Marathahalli. I did the PDI myself at the stockyard on mysore road before I did payment. they invoice the vehicle only after the payment is done.

I had booked the car on 1st sept and was committed delivery by end of Sept. For some reason they were not able to get White AWD til mid Oct. He did offer others colors during Sept but I needed only white.

Given that current model is from 2021, we can expect a facelift in 2025 for sure after Mahindra launches its electric range. I would anticipate new facelift before diwali in 2025.

Increase in oil levels due to fuel getting mixed is common in bs6 engines due to normal regens and aborted regens, how much above the second mark is safe only M&M can tell us.

This is where the third marker on dipstick would have come handy! Manufacturers have started providing a third marker on the dipstick to indicate max dilution beyond which it is not safe and requires a drain and refill of new oil. If M&M is reading this then please consider this and give us that third marker - an additional notch on dipstick should come in cheap as well

Personally, yours being a new engine I would have gone for engine oil change to avoid running on diluted oil and play it 100% safe.

Please reject any suggestions by asc/others to reduce the oil levels by just draining the excess - this will make it worse on a already diluted oil!

Few things you can try for the next 5k kms to keep an eye on this:
  • Drain and fill in 6L fresh oil. Use Ultra V4 only.
  • Fill diesel only from Shell and avoid all others for next 5k kms. The idea here is to reduce regens caused from any bad fuel quality.
  • Get an el cheapo obd reader and monitor the soot levels regularly to get a sense of your regen frequency/pattern.
  • After 5K kms drain your oil and measure it and see if you still see an abnormal increase in oil levels
.

The default behaviour is to keep the USB port power output for a few minutes before switching off. Guess it is 5 mins. It is a good feature for safety i feel, as the camera captures for sometime after you have left the vehicle unattended.

Even the headlights if left On by mistake will turn off automatically.

Attachment 2672847

Attachment 2672848
Update on the engine oil level

- Got the oil & oil filter replaced, oil was around 6-7L which was good but the technican informed that oil viscosity was less which costed around ₹3.8k including labour
- Had an EMS patch which was not part of any recall for my car but got it patched
- Checked Soot level which was around 9.6gms
- Engine note is normal after engine oil change

Will keep an eye on the engine oil level every 500kms
