1. It sucks. Should've been there. But the absence is clear even before purchase, we go in knowing that the feature is missing, so it is what it is. We all hated it, but bought the car regardless, because of other compelling reasons.

2. Mahindra seems to be selling boat loads of the car without adding the feature, so they won't be bothered to do anything about a nearly 4 year old car at this stage. Although when they added the ventilated seats, I was hoping the IRVM would get an upgrade too. But alas... it was not to be. Manufacturers only respond to a drop in sales or lawsuits. Neither is applicable here.

3. Durvient makes a replacement ORVM for the XUV700, compatible with stock mount. Check Google and YouTube for details.

Now, today I got a quote which is Rs. 23,000 lesser than the quote from the above dealer, but it is a November '24 make. If I cancel the 1st booking, I will have to forego only Rs. 2,100. Delivery will be immediate as per my desired date.

I request the forum's advise on whether it is worth saving Rs. 23,000 for a Car which is a month older.
I personally would blindly go with the month old vehicle. One month hardly makes any difference.
It would have only if there was any significant change in the vehicle between those dates, but in these case apparently there is nothing as such. So my suggestion would be to go with the Nov'24 vehicle and save ₹23,000.

A month barely makes any difference. My advice would be to save the 23k and go for the Nov '24 vehicle, if everything else checks out.

Dear, many dealers in Mumbai have stock of Dec '24 manufactured units. I too have booked the diesel AX7L AT, and have got the VIN for a Dec '24 make. The present offer is a discount of Rs 30k.

Absolutely. Had more than enough reasons to lead us to this purchase. A brilliant package and no other car comes close to this from a driver's standpoint in this segment

At this point, I think, only the new generation (whenever that's coming) will inherit all the high tech features, including the dashcam as well from the newly launched XEV series

Thank you all for your replies. However, I have decided to go for the December '24 make to be on the safer side. Some customer had cancelled his booking of the November '24 make. 1 month older car in a dusty stockyard/ warehouse of a car dealer with multiple customers probably being given demos gave me the jitters.

Thank you brother, I have already got a pretty good discounted price with a Rs. 50k discount on the Dec '24 make. I guess I was being too greedy to go for Nov make for more discounts, so avoided it

Otherwise, they told me that they even had to change them at 10k kms for some cars. So maybe, it's all about the way you drive and where you drive(City or Highway).
Having owned the AT in Bangalore now for 2 months, I am not surprised that brakes need replacement in 10-15K kms. AT relies heavily on brake usage in cities like BLR with excessive bumper to bumper traffic. At times big chunks of my drive go with just using the brake to modulate speed and auto hold also keeps constantly engaged. Same thing on my MT XUV500 was never a problem cause I did this kind of drive mainly with the clutch and rarely used brakes. This may not be issue in other cities with better avg speeds.

Based on other ownership reviews here and my own experience, the front brake pads on the XUV700 automatic variant typically last between 17,000 and 25,000 kilometres. I had to replace mine at around 25k. However, this can vary widely depending on driving style, conditions, and other factors.

Many have reported needing replacements sooner due to aggressive driving or frequent stop-and-go traffic.

But 10k is a bit too early, Again If you've been consistently driving in Bangalore traffic, as many others have mentioned, this kind of wear and tear is possible on an XUV700.

The dealer mentioned that side foot steps help prevent scratches from other vehicles. Do side foot steps genuinely help in keeping vehicles, especially bikers and auto-rickshaws, at a safe distance and protect the car from scratches?

What about the rear bumper steel/iron guard? Does it provide any practical benefits? Considering the OEM guard is priced at ₹6,000, is it worth the investment?

Looking forward to your insights!
Footsteps provide an extended dimension thorough out the wheels base, it is definitely an extra protection. I recommend company fitted footsteps. They are expensive but the most premium looking. If you drive in traffic, narrow streets- must go for it.

Must go for the Rear bumper -
MTek brand has really good style especially the dark edition coated bumper. However if you have Diesel variant - do not go for off market fittings.Enquire with Mahindra first because the Urea/DEF tank is right next the the bumper placement. when I enquired with a off market Mtek dealer, he in turn enquired with the company depo for rear bumpers for Diesel variant and The brand said that they have not yet manufactured any bumpers for Diesel variant.

It happened the same with me "E21 DEF Dosing Malfunction" after my visit to Mahindra yesterday regarding the CarPlay issue, which they were unable to resolve. Everything was fine when I came home, but the next day, when I started the car, it showed me the same error. I don’t know what to do as I need the car for the next month continuously.
My family has come to India for vacation, and now my 7-seater Mahindra is having issues.
Mahindra should really focus on improving the quality of its sensors.
The service center told me to come in two days, as they are extremely busy. This is because Mahindra has not expanded its service network as much as its sales in the past 4-5 years.
Could you kindly tell me how much time it took for you to replace the sensor? And how long did it take for the sensor to arrive?

It is excluding insurance. I asked them to match the 62k insurance quote which I got from TATA AIA

So, even if you manage the wiring and steering controls, you won’t be able to activate it.

However, you can install Nexcruise, a plug-and-play cruise control system. I've been using it for over a year without any issues. Note: I am not affiliated with Nexcruise. You can find videos of it on YouTube.
Hello Sunil,

Thanks for that insight.

Wanted to understand if you had a chance to check the wiring diagram for XUV700?

I understand that the current wiring for AX5 does not have the interface with the EMS ECU, we may need to connect the clock spring male connector to the EMS ECU with two wires to enable it (if at all there is no requirement for SW intervention).

Just wanted to check if you have tried this already.

I have had the chance for checking the wiring. The EMS ECU in the AX5 does not natively support cruise control functionality. To enable it, a programming tool that allows feature activation would be required, but Mahindra does not provide this tool.

The newer AX5 models come equipped with an updated ECU that has cruise control functionality enabled. There is a theoretical possibility of retrofitting cruise control by replacing both the ECU and the wiring harness to match the newer configuration.

However, the main challenge remains access to a feature set enabling tool, which, as of now, is not available anywhere. Without this tool, even after hardware changes, activation would still be a roadblock.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Folks, one observation around the ICE setting. Normally I prefer keep the music on the party mode in place of that 3D virtual surround. Last 2 months this option was permanent and didnt require any change but last few days I notice that with every start the sound goes back to 3D virtual surround mode by default. Any clue how to handle this?
