Highway runs are the only way to prevent DPF issues for Mahindra MHawks unfortunately.

When I was in the market for a D segment SUV , this was one of my parameters since our requirement was also mainly city running. My facelifted Harrier I bought in November 2023 with 25k-ish on the odo hasn't had a clogging issue still (fingers crossed).

With Mahindra diesels however it can't be avoided if you drive it in the city. Go for a weekly highway run, enjoy that juicy torque

This is the final quote after a big round of negotiations.
That's a very impressive quote. Happy Mile-Munching with your new ride.

Do you have any idea of the cost of Extended warranty?

Thanks a lot, yes as mentioned bargained a lot, removed all unnecessary charges and accessories, got 1L discount under the scheme and some adjustments on insurance, they have a big cut on insurance.

Extended Warranty costs 46K I think for 3 or 2 years extension. Not sure if it can be taken later on.

I'm shocked to see so many of us having the same issue. I had the same problem and when I told the SC, they told me one cell of the battery is dead and I need to replace the battery. I was suggested to get it changed outside as it would be cheaper.

I ended up replacing with Amaron's battery just last month. So far it's good but it's just been 2-3 weeks and looking at all these posts, I wonder if battery was the problem or something else really.

I replaced coin batteries of both the key fobs too. Mine's a 2022 model. I guess there is no warranty on the battery right?

Anyone else tried to replace the battery and it got fixed?

I had lock/unlock issue + it wouldn't start (multiple attempts, nothing would work) and we had to call a nearby mechanic to jumpstart the car despite the vehicle being used almost daily, totally weird. SC's answer was replace battery, that's all.

I have got 5 battery replacements, all under warranty, in the last 3years and 4 months. There is something wrong with the way battery discharges if the car has low usage and Mahindra isn't able to diagnose and fix it.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I have finally bit the bullet and completed purchase of XUV700 AX7 Diesel Automatic 7 seater. The delivery is scheduled in next 2-3 days. Got ₹1 lakh discount as this is a MY24 car.

I have registered on M4U app and am able to see the car there. Adrenox signup failed indicating my KYC is pending.

Ex-showroom price : ₹21,14,000
Insurance : About ₹64,000
Road Tax : ₹4,46,000

Some pics of the car waiting at the showroom after receiving much needed wash due to dust from stockyard. The car will get a name soon and most likely the XUV700 will take the name of my Polo 1.6 TDI.

Smoother engine on full tank?

Whenever I fill full tank, I feel my AX7 PAT to be a lot peppier and the engine less noisy. I usually fill XP95. Has anyone else felt the same?

While I know that the fuel pump would perform marginally better, I wasn't expecting such a difference in modern cars. While I was discounting this as placebo effect, I have been observing better recently.

I rather get those ‘football in back’ noises even after replacement of fuel tank with so called specially designed baffled tank.

Fuel pump is typically designed to deliver desirable pressure till
Pump able volume ,so that shouldn’t be a factor.

Between 91 and 95 RON Gasoline ,XP95 for sure feels a bit smoother but then no difference in fuel efficiency.

Would be happy to hear other users.

At the time of purchase everyone was given a seperate warranty card for the car battery. The warranty for 22 make cars were normally 1+1 year - so your warranty must be over by now.

Many of the 700 owners have faced this issue of battery dying suddenly - so this is a common issue and specific to your car. My battery also died suddenly one day despite the car being used daily and I had to change the battery last month.

You have not mentioned whether you own a D or P car - but if you have a diesel, then next time be careful to purchase a 90 AH battery, preferably Amaron. M&M is known to provide 72 AH battery in the earlier models and 90 AH stickered (actually with lower rating) in the 2024 cars - while the 2024 owners manual prescribes a 90 AH battery.

I am on my fifth battery in 3 years and 4 months. My previous battery was also a "105AH" battery as per the dealership which turned out to be 72AH in reality when I checked the model no on the amaron site ! M&M is simply unwilling to diagnose this issue. I have a feeling it might be a software issue just like sometimes android phones face battery drain due to android framework / other services getting stuck in the background and the processor doesn't enter sleep state. The only way to fix this has been to format the phone. This car is essentially an android device on wheels - some process is running / stuck in the background and not letting the CPU enter deep sleep forcing such battery drain ? I hope someone from M&M reads this and thinks of this possibility but it seems nobody's interested because this is an edge case

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Guys, I last drove my XUV 700 AX7L P AT on 7/2/25 (over a month ago, 1440km round trip to Kumbh and back) which was irking me. Today I had some time at hand and decided to drive it for a bit, get it refuelled, tyre pressure checked and park it. However, it did not unlock when I pressed the door handle, tried it with the unlock button on the remote, no luck. Then I manually unlocked the car and tried to start but after a flicker of the screen, it died. I have a set of jumper cables with me and plan to start the car tonight and drive it for 30-40kms. I will be using my Honda Amaze as the donor car. My doubt is that considering the sensitivity of electronics in the XUV, should I let the Amaze engine running while I crank the XUV or should I let the XUV charge for 5 mins with only the Amaze running, disconnect everything and then crank the XUV? TIA guys.

Why so many changes? And why would they not look into this seriously after 2 replacements...that's unusual.

I see. Thanks for the info.

Mine's a P version (see signature). I replaced with Amaron 95D26L based on SC recommendation.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I have no clue what the issue is. Car has spent ~9-10 months collectively at the dealership to diagnose the battery discharge problem but they just can't find the root cause. All batteries so far have been replaced by mahindra under the extended warranty except the first which failed within the first year and was covered under base warranty. Once the extended warranty is over I guess I am stuck with paying for a new battery every 2 years ( one free replacement under normal amaron warranty and then a pro rata replacement after the free replacement period is over ! )

Update. I went with the 2nd option. I let the Amaze running for 10 minutes, then shut it and removed all connections and the XUV started up. The problem I'm facing now is that even after locking the car, the handles are not retracting, though the car is locked. Has anyone faced this issue? What is the remedy?
