Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

AX7 and L has the intelli-control knob which the AX5 model doesnt come with. The knob takes up some area and hence the design difference. You can see the pics on the 1st review page itself. So its always been one cup holder in ax7 and above vs ax5. This is nothing new.

AX5 gets 2 cup holders as the know to control infotainment is not present.
AX7 MT, AT the infotainment control knob is present at the location where second cup holder is there in AX5.
AX7 AWD and AX7L MT, AT, AWD get 2 cup holders due to different placement of the infotainment control knob.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Good morning! Had a question regarding owner groups - I see esteemed members referring to owner Whatsapp groups in many of the cities. Wanted to check for the procedure for getting added to the same in Mumbai / Navi Mumbai please.

Also, would be immensely grateful for some recent guidance around tyre upgrade for my AX7L Petrol. The Ecopias seem to have a reputation for sidewall tears and punctures. My tyre dealer is advising me against Michelin and recommending Continental. Any thoughts please? Thanks!

Is the center console different across variants in XUV700?
I thought the center console is changed depending only on whether manual or electronic parking break is present, or in rare cases may be automatic or manual transmission.

Anyone has any idea regarding this? I searched on net but did not find anything.
Thats interesting. I have AX7L AT and it has dual cup holders. Maybe AT with handbrake has some reduced space for 2nd cup holder. Others can confirm.

For primarily city and highway use nothing beats the likes of Michelin Primacy SUV+. Contis are not too far either but certainly not better. Keep in mind Contis are made in India and usually have better warranty etc and I have seen dealers tend to push them more than Michelins.

Thanks so much! That's exactly what I was told - that the Continental warranty claims are easier to process.

I was very happy with UC6 on my Baleno, so don't mind them, but just wanted to check if the Michelins are so far superior.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hello all, I've XUV700 diesel MX, ran around 20k kms in 3 years mostly on highways.
Once in a while I drive my bro-in-law's petrol Tigor, it has lighter clutch feel. After I drive Tigor for 2 weeks and switch back to my XUV700, I feel clutch is harder. I've shown to service center guys during last service and they mentioned its just slightly harder but not at problematic level, and this clutch can easily another 40k. They also mention that even if I replace the clutch, gains are minimal. Is there a way to solve or reduce the this hard feel? Wearing a hard sole shoe has solved to some extend though.

This is expected as most petrol cars have super light clutch which a diesel has a heavier one. This is apparent when you switch between cars but you will be used to the weight after driving for a few kms. Like you rightly said, a hard heavy sole shoe/sandal provides support to the feet while driving a heavy clutch vehicle.

Changing the clutch would only give temporary relief as it will turn heavy again eventually as the KMs pile up.

Different vehicles have different tuning for clutch pedals. But in most cases, bigger engines with bigger gearboxes tend to have harder clutches. There isn't much you can do about it if the clutch plates are still fine. Also, there's no point in comparing a small petrol engine with the powerful diesel mill of your XUV. I'd suggest you to take it positively as a "feature" of your powerful SUV

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

krrr krrr sound coming from car.

Ours is a 2022 AX7 AT AWD model. Driven approx 40K kms. The sound comes randomly and generally below 80 kmph speed.
Only way we were able to replicate was to put in 3rd gear in manual mode and hard accelerate from 45 to 80 kmph in same gear. The sound comes around 60 to 70 kmph and around 3000 rpm while accelerating. And then a low intensity krrr sound after leaving the gas pedal.

Left the car today at service center. Awaiting mahindra's diagnosis. Has anyone else faced similar issue?

Below is the recording. It is a 10 second audio. Sound comes at end between 7s-10s.

Clutch pressure and travel is quite different between a petrol and diesel car due to difference in engine torque and power. Petrol clutch is lighter compared to diesel since torque is quite lower even for same car. Here, you are comparing Tigor petrol to XUV diesel which is like comparing apples and oranges.

I would very much like to know how you inferred that AWD is not working after 40 kph.

Theoretically, the XUV700 AWD works in 2 modes - Auto AWD and manual lock mode.
Auto AWD kicks in at above 80 kph in normal circumstances to help keep your vehicle stable along with Stability/traction control modules.
If you want to manually engage All Wheel Drive at a lower speed to come out of a tricky situation, then you switch it on using the button provided below the dashboard in the driver side.
You can actually see the power distribution to the wheels on the display by choosing the option on the Menu/vehicle info/ 2nd page. You should not drive fast with Manual lock engaged or use it on dry/smooth roads as it would damage the coupling.
It is not so much as AWD disengaging, but changing to AUTO mode after 80 kph where AWD kicks in ONLY when necessary and is in the background.

[b]The "Vocal for Local" sentiment falls flat if basic quality and service standards cannot be met.
I've also faced multiple issues on my XUV700 with the screen being blank the entire day being one of them. Thankfully, after the car was turned off and kept for the night, the next morning, the display was working again. Hope your display issue also fixes itself. It's a shame that despite it being more than 3 years of the car being released, Mahindra still hasn't found an answer for the display blanking out from time to time. On our Kia Seltos (Facelift) which also has dual screens, we haven't faced such an issue since the time of purchase which is one year.

Fed up with the issues, my father has been nagging me to sell the car and get a used Fortuner instead. I told him about the average ride quality on the Fortuner (since I've also TD my friend's car on our roads) but he's ready to compromise with several things on the Fortuner just so that I don't have to take multiple leaves from office to take the XUV700 to the service centre. He told me he'll even help me out with any extra payment needed to get the Fortuner if funds fall short on my end Thing is, I just love my XUV700 a lot and despite it's flaws, Mahindra have done their best time and again to address the issues. The only problem is, the niggles crop up again and again with no permanent fix in sight.

I have been suffering from unresolved issues for the past three months.

Apologies for the delay in updating this thread regarding the issues. I recently returned to work, and the XUV has been stationary for almost two months now.

The new display unit was installed after the vehicle spent about 10 days at the service center. While the display itself has been working perfectly since then, the issue with Apple CarPlay still persists.

That said, I truly appreciate how seriously Mahindra takes such concerns. To be honest, their service support has been exceptional—far beyond my expectations. However, the recurring issues continue to be a concern.

I’ll share a further update once I return to India. Despite these niggles, I remain deeply fond of the XUV. I don’t enjoy driving my cousin’s Fortuner, mainly because the XUV offers a far superior ride quality.

If Mahindra can address these persistent issues, I believe the brand will be in a league of its own. I sincerely hope more people can come to trust Mahindra the same way they trust Toyota. In my opinion,Mahindra should consider simplifying or removing some of the overly complex electronics—after all, most people buy a car for its driving experience. For electronics and other features, we have smartphones and aftermarket options.

Personally, I would definitely consider buying a Mahindra again—but as GTO rightly says, only after the first facelift.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

After about 2 months of usage, I occasionally go into the thought that I do not enjoy driving this car as much as did with the harrier. The noise from the suspension inside the cabin is so bothersome. Doesn’t offer the ride quality you expect from a car of this size. I realise over time that the build of the car is also substantially poorer. Screen goes black occasionally, even during drives with you not even having the speedometer working. I mean, if they couldn’t sort these issues in 3-4 years since launch I don’t think they’re really putting in any effort at all.

Bug in Adrenox App?

Hello Fellow Team BHPians & the Beast Owners!

Encountered this weird and maiden niggle in the Adrenox App today. Remotely switched on the XUV using the Adrenox App and though the vehicle switched on but it automatically switched off within 3-4 seconds giving this error message.

The vehicle was parked and stationary, there were no keys in the vehicle and I was operating it remotely from outside the vehicle.

Any suggestions towards the issue mitigation please.
