Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Any real life pictures and independent reviews of the black interiors in the Ebony & Blaze Editions? Again, can we configure black interiors in other variants?

Have seen only the brochure & ACI pictures here:

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hello
Recently my XUV went for 3rd year servicing. Along with routine maintenance of engine oil change, filter change, software update was done. It also included driver side window software update. SA told me it will enable anti pinch feature. However post servicing I didn’t see that happening.
Anyone else got this?

Doesn't anti pinch feature need physical sensors, instead of just software updates.

That said doesn't the XUV700 already have anti pinch features in models with auto up/down?

Thanks for valuable feedback!
To keep the calculation simple in the mind, DEF usage is around 10% for every 1000kms. So you can refill when you hit 20%.
If your car is in warranty, just follow manufacturer instructions so as not to give them any option to deny warranty. Just go with Mahindra DEF for now.
Technically there shouldn't be much difference between Mahindra and Shell DEF. It is pure Ammonia mixed with deionized water.

Thankyou. I was in mixed bag BTW mahindra/shell. It's in warranty so will stick to maxiclean for now.

I was looking to book the Ebony edition in a couple of weeks however this news has created a bit of confusion. I am assuming that there would be mostly cosmetic changes, and that too in line with the XEV and BE, which personally I am not a big fan of. Plus, once launched, the waiting periods would also be in months, so definitely not getting the deliveries anywhere before end of 2026.

Any thoughts BHPians? Wait for facelift or go ahead and book the current version.
Did you find any info on this? One of my friend is planning to buy XUV 700 and would like to know whether Mahindra has any plans on facelift and timeline.

Would love to know reviews & experiences of others here for these tyres!
Was trying to prompt Gemini for some insights. This is what I arrived at for about 35% Highway, 60% Mumbai City, and 5% Offroad usage.

I'd exported the results onto an Excel - attaching the image.
According to Gemini too, Primacy SUV+ seems great for the use case, with Geolander, and Pirelli Scorpion Verde also showing promise.

Will keep the forum posted once I've consulted my tyre dealer too.

Long pending frustrating issue

A quick recap on the quoted thread - AdrenoX resets frequently once I restart the car after a short stop, like at a petrol pump. Sometimes the outcome is minor but at times, display including the right hand side MID won't be live for several minutes; or, say, the ADAS won't display the speed. I cannot even se indicators marker on the screen or hear the sound.

Sharing an update on this. When I took the car for service in January, the ASC asked me to do an update assuring that should fix the issue and anyway the engineers from Mahindra would ask for the same.

So, when the issue got reproduced multiple times even after an update, I insisted on a proper fix. Again, they had an update - they insisted to try an update in April. Obviously it did not fix it - if they cannot fix an issue with an update for 3+ years, it is not going to happen now with an update. They enabled logs too.

Two weeks back, I left the vehicle at the service center for about 5 days when they were working on a TAR (Technical Assistance Request). The engineers at Mahindra again suggested an upgrade of an ESP software to a 2024.11 version; mine had 2021.8 version - recalls did not list it.

Meantime, I managed to copy logs and analyse it. While I couldn't figure out what is happening, I could notice a lot of crashes and Out of Memory kills that is happening. There were frequent SIGSEGVs that were happening due to null pointer dereferences and also Java NullPointerExceptions. There were frequent killing of processes too by 'lowmemorykiller' which might explain some of the errors we see with AdrenoX. Net-net, the software appear to be a lot fragile!

Another interesting find from the logs is that Ecosense data collection, like RPM and Speed is happening - just wondering why Mahindra chose not to provide Ecosense in AdrenoX app for P-ATs.

As of now, I do not have a resolution. They were even saying that the issue is with ADAS when all the symptoms and logs were saying that the issue is with AdrenoX - just one of the many symptoms has been issue with ADAS set speed display. The ASC collected logs again as the latest updates did not help. It has been quite a frustrating experience that Mahindra is beating around the bush, asking for yet another update without applying their brain.

Now, I am a step away from escalation - if they cannot provide a resolution in a week or so.

Are you considering any Tyre Upsize ? for AX7 is there any good option of 245X65XR18 as an upsize in Michelin Primacy SUV+ ? Will that be fine for AX7 from handling and other parameters?

Hey! I'm planning to stick with the recommended size for the time being.

On a separate note, I might not end up buying right now: just spoke to a dealer yesterday, and given the car has run ~2300 km, he's offering 10k for 4 tyres total - seems too low

Theoretically, the XUV700 AWD works in 2 modes - Auto AWD and manual lock mode.
Auto AWD kicks in at above 80 kph in normal circumstances to help keep your vehicle stable along with Stability/traction control modules.
If you want to manually engage All Wheel Drive at a lower speed to come out of a tricky situation, then you switch it on using the button provided below the dashboard in the driver side.
You can actually see the power distribution to the wheels on the display by choosing the option on the Menu/vehicle info/ 2nd page. You should not drive fast with Manual lock engaged or use it on dry/smooth roads as it would damage the coupling.
It is not so much as AWD disengaging, but changing to AUTO mode after 80 kph where AWD kicks in ONLY when necessary and is in the background.
Sorry for late response.
When AWD is Manually engaged, I noticed that the AWD power distribution in MID getting off after 40kmph.

As per User Maunal, yes it is supposed to switch into AUTOmode after 80kmph. In this case it is getting into Auto mode at 40kmph and I believe AWD is not working in Auto Mode at all.

Cotek @ Sireesh Singasandra observed same. They replaced ECU after getting instructions from M&M team, but still issue is not resolved.
Now they are replacing ITM(Intelligent Torque Module). Vehicle is still at Service Center. They don’t have spares available locally, everything has to be sourced from Chennai plant.
With my association with M&M from past 12 years, 10years with 500 and 2years with 700, this is first time I have to leave vehicle for so long in Service Center. So I am patiently waiting for them to resolve the issue and return vehicle in all good condition without spoiling interiors

Ideally you should have gotten a persistent AWD malfunction light if the AWD module failed, after you turn on the ignition and the initial self test completes.
Or if it is an actual AWD failure and the light is not on, then it should be significantly visible by it NOT lighting up during the self test, probably due to a blown fuse.

Otherwise, it would be very difficult to prove that Auto AWD is not working unless you watch the Torque distribution graphics while executing hazardous stunts like taking a sharp turn at decent speed or drive zig-zag at a healthy speed, hopefully on a deserted road.

It would have been decisive if the malfunction light had popped up - that would definitely mean Auto AWD module has failed, or an even more bizarre fuse blow out that caused the warning light to NOT pop up combined with an actual AWD module failure.

245/65/R18 leads to an increase in circumference by 4.8%, which is quite high. It is generally recommended to not increase by more than 2-3%. Upsizing impacts speedometer readings (actual speed will be higher than shown), turning radius will decrease (if the tyre touches or comes too close to the inner wall when the steering is fully turned left/right) and may also have an impact on ABS and TC.

You can check the variance in diameter/circumference from stock size on this website: https://tiresize.com/tyre-size-calculator

Yeah. 245/60/R18 is not ideal upsize. I checked the link you attached. Thank you.
