Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Not sure if this is already discussed but found this article on cardekho, which says ax5 version is would be available in auto transmission.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Going by the homologations docs, the XUV700 despite being larger than the XUV500, has a slightly lower GVW. I remember reading somewhere that XUV500 had a GVW of 2.5 tonnes. If someones comes across the kerb weight, please do share.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Expected to see a 5 seater and AWD variant in AX7 trim. Not everyone require 7 seats and would like to lug around additional two seats for no reason. That's a miss from Mahindra.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Just saw an Instagram reel of one YouTube food blogger driving the XUV700 at the track. He was doing 198 kmph and took a curve at 180+ kmph. Looks like the XUV7OO will be one nice SUV to drive. The one he drove was the 2.0 liter turbo petrol.

Mahindra is not leaving any stones unturned, by even letting food bloggers with a million subscribers to drive and market their XUV7OO.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

AT available in AX5 Petrol variant is surely good news.

This information that's come out sure looks like a timed leak from Mahindra, just to whet our appetite for more!

Really hoping the AX5 gets decent optional packs. The 360 camera and Sony sound system are both on my list.

Mahindra needs to leak the prices now!

P.s. Spoke to a couple of dealers in Mumbai, they are still tight-lipped and wouldn't even give me details about the Freedom Drive.

Totally agree. I too was looking for a 5-seater diesel AWD AT with with all the bells and whistles included but looks like we only have option of 7-seater.

Don't know what might be the reason behind this but I guess they must have thought if someone is spending this much then they won't mind additional 40-50k for that extra row, which can be folded flat anyways to make it a 5-seater.

I think if someone is too paranoid (like me ) to not have that last row at all, we can just unbolt and remove it and then put the AX5 5-seater boot floor in it. I think this should be the closest workaround albeit a bit costly.

Is this any cause of concern ? Does this stiffness translate to a bumpy ride like what the old Ecosport used to have ? Also, wouldn't the FSDs help adjust between stiffness and softness according to the nature of the tarmac below ?

[*]Noticed that the pop-out handles are "motorized" for the "L" variant. For the lower variants they are manual. So in lower variants, anybody can pop them out, even when the car is locked. The door won't open, but the handle will hang out. The motorized ones looked cool though.
Well this can be a worry at times I believe since these new handles will attract eyeballs and children might be really tempted play with it as well. I hope all these can be added to AX5 variant as optional pack, along with 360° camera.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

But Homologation not necessarily translates into company selling all the variants in one go. Sometimes they do it for future proofing, I reckon.

Saw this white one in Bavdhan, Pune.

Must say, it looks proportionate. It didn't visually appear to be shorter than the XUV5OO. Has really strong road presence as well.

It was alone though, not a part of any convoy. Nor did it have any 'Freedom Drive' artwork. Perhaps headed to a dealership?

This makes it the first real pic of XUV700 in White on a road. I guess? The only other white XUV700 was the cut-out cross section model showcasing the airbags at MRV Chennai.

It doesn't look like a dealer car given the amount of muck on it and the wear/scratches/fading on the headlights. And also in addition to the absence of Freedom Drive artwork it doesn't even have the "XUV700" badging on it. It looks to be a test mule which has undergone metamorphosis and shed its camouflage.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Am surprised there are no 6 seater options. I am not a fan of capitan seats in the middle but given how every other car in this bracket offers it not sure why the miss.

Also looking at the difference in GVW of the 5 seater and 7 seater options I am surprised the 2 extra seats weigh more than 200 Kgs. Or is the calculation not correct?

There will probably be some minor changes to the rear suspension setup and AC unit as well.

That is the gross weight (not unladden) correct? 2 seats with occupants would be approximately 200 KG.
