Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Today while I was driving my vehicle I intended to engage the reverse gear..I engaged the clutch but after pressing it down but it never came back up. The clutch pedal was just left completely to the floor even after removing my foot. I was stuck in the middle of the toll gate as I was not able to change the gear.. After restarting my car once it seemed to start working properly.. I was really shocked by this and i am not sure if this is going to be a recurring issue or one off situation..

Has anyone in this group faced this issue? Any thoughts around how to overcome this situation?

I am still waiting to get my first service done so for now I have only made a note of this issue.

Thanks for your help. Actually, I am getting the car under a different name so I don't think I can transfer the NCB.
I will apply for Fast tag myself then and I have decided to choose the following accessories.
  • Mud flaps- 800
  • Boot mat- 3100
  • Scuff protector- 1275
  • Reverse camera- 4500
  • Luggage cover- Have to ask the sales guy.
  • Rain visor- Aftermarket.(I am guessing 3k) Mahindra is charging 5k.
  • Seat Covers- Autocraft India(I am guessing 18k)
  • Audio- Motor concept( I am guessing 40k)

Has anyone sold there 17" Alloys to any shop? If yes, how much did you sell It for. I might buy a set of 17" Lenso's if difference is not too much.

One can always bargain for total accessories cost

Regarding aftermarket rainvisor , i got mine for 1200 rupees(six pieces)and I'm very happy with them (it has been 8 months)

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I got the alert that ‘front brake pad worn out’ at 10779 km which I feel is very soon and could be false alarm. The second service was recently done. The alert is not constant and comes and goes. Does anybody face the similar issue. I will be visiting showroom this weekend.

Get this issue checked with MASS. This is most probably a problem of the clutch slave cylinder or maybe the master cylinder not working properly. Whichever of the two is causing the problem, it requires to be replaced at the earliest.

This has been reported by some Scorpio-N owners. This was a common issue with Fiat Linea in 2010-11 and I learnt about this from my Fiat ownership.

If you have the AT version and you use AEBS then this is common. You can check the ownership thread of @Abirnale for further confirmation - his front brake pads were changed at 17K.

There is a sensor embedded in the brake pads and when the same is exposed, it starts giving warning signals on the MID.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I contacted my nearby Mahindra Service Centre regarding "service bulletin issued for change of the lower arm bush of the XUV700's suspension". They were clueless and according to them, there's no such recall/ notification from Mahindra. However, there are a few LUCKY XUV700 owners whose service centers have rectified the suspension issue.

Is there somebody on this forum who has got his/ her XUV700 suspension rectified under the recall?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Yesterday I spotted this test mule of XUV700 with Camo near AECS Layout Whitefield. Now I am wondering, why would a test mule be running after 1.5 years of launch ? If a dealer had this vehicle, he would have sold it already or would have used it as a test drive vehicle.

If you look closely at the rear, I could not spot the exhaust and the wheel alloys look different. However the car has a 2 - D AT sticker.
In a regular XUV700, the exhaust is very prominent. See below pic for reference.

Can the test car be the electric version ?

This has to be the BS-6.2 iteration of the 2.2 MHawk undergoing final testing. That explains the diesel stickering.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Finally.. we got the call from dealer stating the car has allotted (apparently it’s a reallottment as someone cancelled it).
The dealer refused customer PDI. After multiple phone calls and escalations the dealer finally agreed to PDI. But unfortunately I had to shell out a few lakhs as down payment for him to agree for the PDI. Its really is frustrating that it has come to this.
Finally got to do the PDI at the yard, didn’t do a very detailed check. But verified the body for paint issues or dents or alignment issues. Started the car and checked the engine. Verified some electronics like stereo, Sun roof etc. Checked all the doors and tumble seats. Everything checked out fine. It’s a Nov manufactured car.
Hoping to complete RTO formalities and expecting delivery soon.
Except the PDI part the dealership experience was smooth.

If my CPD is showing 26 Dec - 25 Jan 2023, when can I expect the online status to change from Order Confirmed to Vehicle under production?
