Hello everyone,
I am thinking of buying "tata punch" .
How is it's engine performance? specially In the long term?
(Currently unable to take test drive)

Also how does it handles bad/broken roads?
Any other issue I should be aware of?
Any hope for diesel engine?

The performance is nowhere near exhilarating, it is more than adequate nonetheless. I am saying this after driving the car for over 7k kms.

The car handles broken roads and undulations really well. It performs better as you pick up a bit of speed on such stretches.

If you are doing a PDI, which I certainly recommend, watch out for imperfections and ensure that the basic functions work as intended.

I seriously doubt it. In fact, a bold 'NO' would be my answer.

Hello everyone,

I'm considering buying a TATA Punch AMT, but after reading the horror stories about cars being invoiced to one person and then sold to someone else. I want to make sure this doesn't happen with me.
Is there a simple way to check if the car assigned to me has already been registered or invoiced to someone else?

Incidents I am talking about :

There are many similar cases in google reviews of TATA Showrooms in Hyderabad.

Hello everyone,
I've recently picked up a Punch (Creative AMT). The dealer gave me some basic accessories. The floor mat doesn't cover the rear centre floor. Apart from floor mats, I am also looking for other accessories for the car like seat cover, rain guard, etc. Not sure if I should go with what Tata is offering or go for a 3rd party. Need your recommendations and suggestions.

TIA.

Hello everyone,
Need another advice on the Punch. Should I opt for the AMC plan? If yes, which one? Gold or Silver? My usage is about 1500 - 2000 kms a month.
TIA.

I would suggest going with the Gold package. Since your running is fairly high, make sure you opt it early on.

Dear All,

I am currently at 13500Kms and 2.5 years and the ride quality has degraded recently. I am able to feel very minor road undulations also in the cabin and the suspension seems to have become hard. Specifically, concrete joints are coming in very hard in the cabin and dashboard even at slower speeds.

During my last minor service in last week of Oct at ASC, they did some suspension torque which brought back the original softness, however, that lasted only 10-12 days and now again it has become same.
Also note, I try to maintain the tyre pressure at 33 every 2 weeks from nearest fuel pump.

I have an appointment tomorrow again with the SA. Will share the updates here.

Can someone please guide as to what could be wrong with the suspension and what all the expect in order to bring back to original form.

Try to keep the tyre pressure to 30 and see the difference.

A close friend of mine is facing a stalling and starting trouble in his newly acquired tata punch run only 2800kms. Few days ago, his car broke down on a busy intersection and he somehow steered to a safe side. Luckily I was there on the spot and we tried to start the car, few times it started only to shiver and die down. The RSA was called and the car was towed to the nearest service centre (Bokaro).

The car is still not starting and the issue remains unresolved till now. First they suspected fuse, second fuel quality and so on, but all were find to be ok. The spark plugs were opened next. They were black and soot deposits were found.

What could be the issue? He has demanded a quick resolution, cost of commutes and a new car if something catastrophic has happened to the engine.

Looks like Punch 2025 has revised features now for the variants. I was out yesterday to test drive and book Punch AMT adventure rhythm. While booking discovered from Tata website that adventure variant has Rear ac vents and Driver seat height adjustment added. Even the SA wasn’t aware and he was able to confirm the changes with a Tata motors trainer . Not sure if the other variants also got any new features.

Any update? What was the issue.

New engine has been installed. They haven't disclosed the main cause yet. The original engine has been sent back to the plant for investigation.

Hi All! Finally taken delivery on Punch Accomplished+ AMT. Have a questions and request some pointers on the same:

1. AMT Jerks - the car jerks especially in 1st gear and in heavy traffic. I release the brakes slightly and the car jerks forward , and while i apply brakes, it jerks again. I didnt face this issue in test drive. Also when i switch to Manual mode or Eco drive mode the jerks are lesser. Should i get the TCU or AMT throttle checked at service center?

2. Accomplished plus - though brochure says no mention of rain sensing wipers or auto headlamps, mine has it. Confused if its an actual auto headlamps / rain sensing wipers or its the normal ones. Photo attached below, which was taken during PDI.

On the car overall, i really like the build quality and the space offerred by the car. The touchscreen is really nice and reverse camera offers HD like quality, which is wonderful. AC is really a chiller.

There have been plenty of posts on the nightmare that is the Tata motors service, am just here to add 1 more to that lot to help out a neighbor. This is also as a forewarning to anyone who is thinking of purchasing a Tata vehicle.

If someone asks me on my opinion on a Tata's cars, my response is,
"They are great cars, good built, safety, features and design." but if they ask me if they should put down their hard earned money on it my response remains the same as lot many people:

"Do not buy a Tata Vehicle unless you are ready to deal with Tata service or therein lack of it"

I do understand that all car manufacturers have good and bad service centers but Tata seems to have the taken the crown in majorly having terrible service.

My neighbor had purchased a Tata Punch Safari Edition AMT, about 2 years back, because they loved the vehicle and liked the space and features it offered at the price point. Trouble started at the very first service onwards, where the vehicle hasn't even covered 2000kms, the service center wanted to do a change of oil and air filters which was refused and later done post the 5k mark/after a year.

More recently the vehicle met with an accident, where the car side swiped a parked lorry while turning, resulting in a dent on the bonnet, scratched up DRL and bumpers, after initially quoting exorbitant amounts for fixing it they got a quote for 15k which they agreed and sent off the vehicle for service at FPL TATA motors, Guindy, Chennai and after 2 weeks they got the vehicle back and this is where more headaches began than the accident itself.

- The vehicle was keyed completely on the right side all the way from the front to the back, not sure if it was from being left out on the road without proper security, or if it was one of the service center employees that did it.

- The painting work done was pathetic, color matching was so pathetic, that a child could have done a better work matching colors.

- The car was scratched up from the service center on the rear right side, there were scuff marks and scratches.

- The cherry on top, while returning the car the drive was over-speeding and managed to get a challan for Rs.500.

They have been trying to reach out to FPL Tata motors since the beginning of Jan and other than fake promises no action has been taken till date.

So anyone even considering to purchase a car from Tata, you might get a good car, but you will lose your peace of mind.
