1. Door layout and design identical to Kushaq
2. Infotainment and AC unit straight lift from Kushaq/Taigun
3. Borrows same Digital Cockpit from Taigun, which is a shame.
4. Same rear view mirrors

Lets hope for a better fit and finish this time, with GNCAP ratings revealed before launch!

This is probably going to be priced at par with Kushaq. Kushaq might command a slight premium being the SUV/Crossover sibling. If its in that range then the car looks decent. Din't really like the interior color combination, so hopefully we get an all black/single tone option.

As already mentioned the GC does kill the look somewhat, but might be more practical for families with only 1 car.

My thoughts:
1. Excellent choice for sedan buyers looking for a better built classier vehicle.
2. Will kill off the D1 segment even more.
3. Will cannibalize the Octavia itself.
4. Raised GC looks odd but will help in our hideous roads.
5. Stylish well designed interiors and without excessive chrome.
6. Ventilated seats are a real draw.
7. Spacious boot.
8. Rear seat looks reasonably spacious.
9. 1.5 TSI with cylinder deactivation should be very economical.
10. 17" wheels with lowering springs should make this a cheapish sedan racer.
11. Digital cockpit gimmicky but a big draw now.

If I were in the market for a second/third car, I would definitely buy one!

Slavia gets something that buyers give a lot of importance these days, something that it’s elder sibling the Octavia doesn’t; a sunroof!

Personally, the raised stance kills the looks. The rear is good but the front end is just average.
Again the real sore point for me is the stance. The Mk1 and M3 Octavia and the current Superb looks so much sharper and still have that wow factor.

PS: I have a Mk3 Octy so may be a bit biased.

So Slavia will come with 2 important additions as compared to the Octavia which are an Electric Sunroof and Ventilated Seats and also the extra GC for the ones scared of scrapping the lower belly of low slung Octavia.

Given the number of people who were waiting for a probable launch of a 1.5 L TSI Octavia earlier, won't be surprised if that particular crowd of people switch to Slavia or similar at much lesser cost with 2 premium features that have become increasingly popular in the country in modern times.

No wonder Octavia will retain its own charm and quality being a CKD Unit with a much powerful and exciting engine and the DQ381 DSG but this limits Octavia even further to only the enthusiasts with Superb Sportline with discounts on close North of it and Slavia now on much South.

From the exteriors it seems that it has the same notchback design as Octavia but it doesnt. Skoda could have done that for more boot space.

I wonder how will current gen Octavia owners feel about Slavia getting a sunroof when Octavia doesnt have it. If this gets a response similar to Kushaq, it will be tough for Skoda salespersons to pitch for Octavia.

Sedans should have a squat stance. The Slavia takes the approach of SX4. While it aids practicality to have increased ground clearance, it takes away the charm of the 3 box sedan. 179 mm vs 165 mm of Rapid. Slavia would have looked much hotter if it wasn't so raised. Moreover almost 180mm means the body roll will also be more. Handling will take a hit if you are used to the Rapid’s beautiful handling.

Front design looks a bit overdone to me. It's bigger too. A good 15+ cm increase in length and also a slight increase in width. Biggest boot in the segment too, 520 L, besting City/Ciaz's 510L. Also the longest wheelbase in the segment. Rear overhang seems a bit too long.

Honestly Rapid looks much better externally IMHO. The interiors look classy, while there has been no soft touch plastics used, from the pics. Is it just me or anyone else miss the power window switches on the inclined part of the doorpad handle, like in the rapid/vento?

Weird placement of parking brake as well as start stop button. Another typical Skoda VAG trait of tall transmission hump in the middle.

Not a fan of that speedo console and also of that 2 spoke steering wheel. The crystalline blue looks very similar to the silk blue of rapid. Hope Skoda doesn't discontinue that shade like they did with Rapid.

With more features and tech, I guess the Slavia will find a higher price range than the Kushaq.

Many existing rapid owners have been unable to upgrade to another c2 sedan (specially the ones who find Octavia out of the budget). The Slavia will be a logical and nice upgrade to them.

That 1.5 liter TDI will be sorely missed, now more than ever.
