Thank you for the tip!

You need to turn on the recirculation mode every time you turn on the car if that is your preferred setting. I noted that in my review that it was and is a bit irritating as you can’t have the Auto mode on with recirculation mode on. Auto mode will automatically turn the recirculation mode off. I have now a muscle memory every time I turn the car on the next morning or after a day break at the office. But if you are running errands, you gotta turn the recirculating mode every time you hop in and off. Not ideal but of course not a deal breaker of an otherwise excellent ride.

I have observed that if the “Auto” mode is selected and then the Recirculation is selected, the LED light on the “Auto” button goes off, but it functions as Auto - the blower speed will be higher initially and as the car cools down, the blower speed automatically comes down. Next time I start the car, I have to manually engage the Recirculate for sure, but it continues in Auto mode, albeit without the LED on the Auto switch glowing.

I have been contemplating about buying a new car for a few months now and with all the discounts on offer, I finally was convinced that the time is right to buy one. On top of my list was the Kodiaq followed by Harrier, Xuv 700 and the Virtus GT in this order.

So I happened to approach the SA at our Ghy showroom for a quotation over the Phone and was given the following quotation after discount.

The 39.99L ex showroom price has been increased to 41.99L by the SA and when asked about the 2.5L discount that the company was offering, I was told that that 39.99 is AFTER taking into account the special discount offered by the company.

Please let me know what’s the Ex showroom price after the anniversary offer that the company was offering so that I would negotiate (or book online) when a similar offer comes around.

TIA

The official ex-showroom is 39.99L as per Skoda India. The dealership is not doing any favour for you by showing that 2L discount. Skoda India had reduced the official price sometime in March or April. Currently there are no ready stocks available at any dealership and the vehicle gets dispatched from Skoda Aurangabad plant only after placing the order. I would suggest wait for 24th August 2024. Skoda will again bring back the similar offer like the anniversary sale. They had been running it for the past 4 months on every month's 24th in some form or other. Maybe there won't be 2.5L reduction on ex-showoom but it will be somewhere between 1.5-2L.

Another side note, the insurance amount quoted of 2.42L is pretty high, so that 70K discount on insurance is a sham. Go for your own insurance. It will come in between the range of 90K to 1L.

The previous comment by @RootedCosmo is accurate.

I got my Skoda Kodiaq L&K delivered last week. I will share the price breakup here for whomsoever it helps.

This is with 2 years SMP and 5th year extended warranty. I am adding a 6th year warranty and 2 years additional SMP which will cost around ~50k which will come to 48L. This was at Raja Skoda Bangalore and the maximum discount I could get. If you choose to pick insurance from Acko then reduce another 60k.

Hope this helps.

Given the sudden burst of YouTube influencer videos, it is fair to assume Skoda has some kits available in India to be assembled / already assembled and sold off before launch of the next gen Kodiaq.
Going by previous cut offs ( such as BS6), while there were big discounts in the 4-5 months leading to the cut off date, Skoda managed to exhaust the stock of older vehicles by end Jan 2020, a good 2 months ahead of the cut-off and the last few pieces flew off the shelf like hot cakes without any discount. Assuming Skoda still wants to exhaust all stock well ahead of the new launch, this current discount may be the best one can expect and may disappear as the stocks near depletion.

Guys - I have bought a pre-owned Kodiaq TDI last week. All 4 tyres are gone and needs to be replaced. Kodiaq's recommended size is 235/55/R18 which the previous owner upgraded to 235/60/R18.

Should I continue with 235/60/R18 or switch to 235/55/R18? What will be the difference?

Please suggest some good mid range options.

I am planning to get 1st service done for my Kodiaq next week. Unlike my previous car's manual, I am not able to find a checklist of things to be done during the service (e.g. air filter change, engine oil change, timing belt check, etc.).

Where can I find a comprehensive list of things to be done?

You may find details of the parts that will be changed and the related cost from the below web link, at various service intervals.

https://www.skoda-auto.co.in/aid/ser...ost-calculator

Thanks, but the website is giving a very limited list - only 4-5 items.

Folks - Any other way to get a comprehensive list?

Following stuff has to be changed / replaced with new no matter what:

1. Engine oil.

2. Engine oil filter.

3. Oil drain plug.

4. Engine air intake filter.

5. Cabin air filter.

6. If issues with fuel line anytime - fuel filter.

Reconfirm all the stuff yourself that new one has been placed - old one might be cleaned & put back.
Sometimes filters aren't in stock - submit your vehicle ONLY when all parts are in stock.

Thanks. But is there no official Škoda list of things to be replaced/checked/cleaned?

Service manual is there but it's not for public view. Maybe we can fetch from other links.

They might have done to have a slightly more side profile for off-roading, or to match a tire brand/model that was only available for that specific size. Cannot think of any other reason for that kind of change.

Though it's a relatively smaller profile, the stock tire size is apt for the mix of comfort and spirited driving the Kodiaq offers. Pure off-roading might be a different scenario.

If you are not looking for anything specific in these lines my recommendation would be to stick with the recommended tire size.

I've also upgraded to 235/60/R18 on my TDI. I did it to have a more common size so that any tyre service requirement could be met even beyond the metro limits, since I leisure travel to some remote parts of our country.

The other benefit I've incidentally achieved is that the ride quality has become disproportionately better and everyone notices it. And its better at both - expressways and broken roads.
The better GC helps too.
