The Tiguan has matrix LED as it has an array of 24 individual LEDs which light up the road ahead based on driving conditions, but doesn’t have the beam cut off feature so as not to dazzle oncoming traffic. Although yet to be tried in real life. Kodiaq doesn’t have matrix LED but Skoda’s version of poor weather lighting, as explained below. The activation of front fog lights, activates poor weather lighting, the lower projector cuts off the main low beam to some extent, and sheds more light in the front of the vehicle, rather than the sides. When you use the lights to flash, as in pull the steering mounted stalk, both the projectors light up. Really need to see how this works in real life scenarios, but expect slightly better illumination during rains.
Based on the comments, few members have already booked the car. Any update on deliveries?
It seems members who have booked the car during pre-booking got call directly from Skoda for booking confirmation. However, it's almost ten days after the launch, and there is complete silence on this front. Very strange. !

I booked the car post the launch (12th January) in Ahmedabad and got a call from Skoda Mumbai the next day confirming details (name, address). Followed up with the dealer here and he sent a receipt yesterday of my booking amount with the model preference.

I pre-booked on 22 December’21 and got confirmation from Skoda congratulating me on booking Kodiaq. No updates on delivery whatsoever after that - my dealer has looped me in the email follow-up with Skoda regional sales head but no response at all. No option other than to wait now.
I booked one on 10th Jan. My SA told me that deliveries may start from 1st week of March. He also said there are several other customers ahead of me. So I am not expecting delivery anytime before 3rd week of March.
Seems customers who have reserved white colour might get deliveries first. Again pl take this with a pinch of salt.
Did anyone check the rear view mirror assembly has a USB-C port for dashcam power? Please refer the picture below from Skoda storyboard, the cars with ADAS module in Europe gets this one, but not sure the Indian version has it since we miss out on ADAS and the rearview mirror mount is a slim one.

Irrespective of ADAS tech, other Skoda models do get this feature. The current Octavia L&K has this, and no ADAS. KODIAQ doesn’t have this feature in India.

So is this different from the one on the Passat which had an “electrical connector on the damper”? Is one more advanced than the other? Lastly, if the connector or the electromagnetic valve fail do the cars chug along on normal mode or do the electronics simply stop the car from being driven?

I have sold my innova, which was a 2007 model. Never gave any trouble, and was as good as the day I bought it. I am planning to book the Kodiaq, but looking at another thread on the DSG failures on Polo's and Vento's, I am really sceptical and worried. I test drove both the L&K and sportline, love the car. But these failures scare me.
Scratching my head what to do.

Polos and Ventos ( And even the Taigun and Kushaq) use the DQ200 gearbox which had the bad history of failures. Kodiaq DSG is from the DQ381 family and is a wet clutch setup and does not have the bad history of failures like the DQ200. While reliability is still a concern with any DSG gearbox, atleast for this one, it need not be considered a deal breaker.

Hello, could you please post your impressions on the Sportline drive.
1- Do the interiors look as good as in the photos? Also, which did you feel would be easier to maintain?
2 - How is the suspension compared to the L&K? Is it stiffer on the Sportline?
3 - Which variant impressed you more?
I took the test drives in the night I have pictures I am attaching them.
The problem is we drove the L&K from my house to a showroom where the sportline was.
I did not drive both the cars on the exact same roads. To make a direct comparison. The Sportline suspension on nice level tarmac at triple digit speeds was nice and complaint. Let's say equal to normal on L&K.
The Sportline interiors, looks and seats impressed me more. But again I am a sucker for all black interiors. Sceptical how it would be in terms of maintenance. Also, to note the brochure mentions that it's not leather. When compared to the L&K and Style.
Looking at the L&K drivers side seat with 200km on the odo was already soiled. You can make out in the pictures as well.

Beige seats do get soiled easily especially if you wear blue jeans. But the seats are quite hard wearing and easy to clean. Having said that, this Sportline interior is sexy! Very classy. Only things missing are the offroad button, as it doesn’t get hill descent control, and 360 cam button. Better looking steering, matt embellishments instead of piano black, black headliner, its perfect! Especially like the alloy wheel design on the Sportline! I am too tempted to go for the L&K solely for DCC. But that is also one of the reasons I don’t want to opt for it. I have no idea on the longevity of DCC equipped shocks. In my Octavia i have changed the front shocks at 100K KMS. Rears are still original at 178K KMS. I personally feel any car should be treated with a new set of shock absorbers every 5 years or 80-90K KMS. Need to check how much a full overhaul for DCC equipped shocks would cost vis a vis. standard shocks.
