Will the USB ports support enough current to power the dashcam, or will it cause any damage to the infotainment system? |
Many congratulations.
I have tried both options, both keep supplying power even after ignition is off & car locked. Only difference is USB C lights shuts down & 12 V doesn't.
Power is adequate in USB C & it neither harms the infotainment system nor blow fuses.
I am using DDPAI Mola. When car is stationary, it enters Hyperlapse Mode & remains on.
Both sockets will keep draining the battery till it reaches a certain threshold.
To be safer, when there is no difference, I prefer to use it on 12 V socket.
When car is parked for a longer time, like Jangra, I unplug it.
Delhi NCR Kodiaq owners, I am based out of Bangalore, looking to buy Kodiaq for my parents in NCR. Looking for recommendations/feedback on Skoda dealers in NCR. I am ok buying from Delhi/Noida/Gurgaon/Faridabad.
From what I have read on this thread, brite seems to be among the better ones, but would want to learn more from fellow bhpians
Thanks in advance.
@Sameerg: please try with Zedex Škoda, Patparganj. I’m a Škoda Superb owner and pleased with my buying experience from them last year. If you need contact of the SA, please do let me know.
Just based on my experience with the SA and overall purchase, Zedex was far superior to Brite Škoda. Please note that I don’t have an affiliation with the manufacturer and/or the dealer.
Thanks, and hope you make the purchase soon! 👍🏼

Got the big boy home and the initial impressions have been good. Will pen down a detailed review soon. There is nothing that the other members haven't mentioned but here is my take on some things.
1. The ride quality especially in comfort is good. It's a bit wafty so to speak and filters most of the rough patches. Cabin is hushed too and family appreciates that.
2. Turbo lag is noticeable but it also looks like you can work around it. Know when to floor, it does take off. I am guessing the gearbox behavior will get better with more driving?
3. Third row is perfect for our needs. We went around a bit with 2 kids at the back and they felt at home.
4. Canton is remarkable. With the right equalizer setting it starts to sound good. Audio quality via Android Auto is dull and via standard Bluetooth is good. I guess it would sound the best with wired connection ?
5. Engine is super silent and refined. You only hear the snarl when it picks up steam. Start stop is good too and you don't really notice when it kicks in and out.
6. Auto hold is very handy and keeps the burden off your feet from brakes.
7. Fuel average was somewhere around 6 or 7 kmpl but again I only got to drive 25 or 30 kms in city traffic. I am guessing this will settle in the right range with more driving. Got to stretch it's legs.
8. Driving around town seems much easier with light steering ( progressive steering is nice) and it's surprisingly easier to maneuver. Turning radius for such a big vehicle is much better than our V40 CC.
9. Infotainment screen is good and responsive. I find the size right and don't know what's the deal with bigger screens. It's slick and high res. Gesture control isn't quite intuitive. Virtual cockpit is nice and presents a lot of information. Haven't managed to customize the layout yet.
10. Not a big fan of the alloys. The first edition had better dual tone ones. These are very clinical looking.
11. Drive in eco mode is avatually good and it looks like a mode where you can coast all day.
12. Sports mode is actually aggressive and you feel the rush with torque kicking in early on. It's fun!
13. Paddle shifter are nice and you feel the jolt with every shift which is engaging.
SA told me normal petrol is ok and suggested I stick HP, BP and Shell.
Any members doing ok with normal petrol for their Kodiaq?

My sales & services experience with Brite has been quite good.
But can't completely rule out Zedex too.

I feel audio is better in Android Auto than Bluetooth.

Just completed my first trip with Avalanche to Landour. Its located at 7500 feet, 1000 feet above Mussoorie, Uttarakhand.
Elevation is OK but it's the very narrow steeply inclined (sometimes upto 40 degrees) , mountain lanes / roads with stop & go traffic plus several V-bends that make its approach relatively difficult.
One of my batchmate is so afraid of Landour drive that he parks near mall road & take a local taxi upto landour. rl:
At first I was apprehensive taking her upto top but I finally dared.
Auto hold works superbly - fully loaded car never ever backed down - not even an inch. I was more panicky regarding hatchbacks ahead of me.
Torque is good, DSG & turbo works nicely - never felt car gasping for power - love the grunt during crawl.
Tyres offered supreme grip - climb was well heeled.
On extreme steeps, moving from standstill & further crawl, I electively chose manual mode - car felt more relaxed.
Handling & steering is very predictable - she goes exactly where you pin point her.
During descent, I mostly used engine braking. Gears hold well till 4K RPM or till accelerator isn't depressed. Didn't put on the neutral to avoid unnecessary brake load.
Also, I don't know if say car is descending at 30 KMPH in N mode freely, what will happen if D mode is engaged - will start from D1 or D3/D4 - couldn't take the risk.
All over, a very satisfying ascent & descent.
Happy that I made this choice.

Thanks for your response, I am unable to DM you. It will be great if you can DM me the contact info of your SA.
Thanks again :)
Can any member comment about the parking/collision sensors sensitivity ? It seems to pick up objects a lot far away and even beneath ( we tested it by placing something underneath). While area view is handy, the pop up keeps coming up and keeps beeping annoyingly long. In our Volvo it has a sensible range and only pops up when we get close enough to a vehicle or object. In the Kodiaq the sensors are hyper and seems rather unnecessary.
Is this the case in general and how do we adjust this?

Its true. They are hyper sensitive.
In mine, they even pick up front wheels when taking acute turns in R mode.

Seriously! It's so overdone that you end up muting it often that it defeats the purpose of having one. I read somewhere it can be adjusted. Did you try it yet?
Can anyone please help me with the email ids of Petr Solc, Piyush Arora, and some other higher-ranked folks at Skoda?
My car, unfortunately, had an incident, and all the dealers in NCR are refusing cashless insurance claim for policy provided by Skoda Showroom in Chandigarh.
Any help will be appreciated.

Can't find anything to adjust, maybe via OBD tool.

Sad to hear that.
Hoping damage isn't too much. Which insurance you having, does Chandigarh Skoda advised it? Is it zero depreciation? Generally dealerships provide cashless repair (as in my case) with policy which they have recommended. Legally, if insurance company completes the survey & hands over vehicle repair order to dealership of full or even 90% amount, they can't deny you a cashless repair.
Also, look into this post:

Good observation. Thanks!
I have booked the Kodiaq BS6.2 last week. Yet to confirm the revised features - as per my SA no revision in features was expected but will confirm these two additions. Have been communicated a 2 months waiting period. |
This is confirmed. I took delivery recently and the MY23 Kodiaq is coming with these Door edge protectors, Lounge pedals and BS-6, phase 2.

Hi Novice - is this message from some app from which you had shared the pic. I could only get hold of the Skoda ConnectED app working so far.

Thanks! The damage is minor but heart-ache is major. :(
Yes - It’s a zero dep coverage from Oriental Insurance and was recommended and issued by the showroom. I even paid the price they quoted without any negotiations.
Overall experience has been unpleasant with this attitude.

OBDeleven -

MySkoda Connect app too reads error codes from ECU and puts app notifications on the Phone.
