There is no denying that it is hard to wait but there is no other choice. If it was possible , we know that everyone from SA to dealers to Skoda would love to sell as many kodiaq as possible and as soon as they can. Its their business and its what they want to do.

I agree with you on the point of not spoiling the car buying experience especially so early in the process.
But I do feel that with advancement in supply chain and logistics and use of various automation technologies by the manufacturers, I don’t feel that it is too much to ask for the dealer/manufacture to give a proper estimate for delivery. Definitely it can’t be accurate but it can at least be in the ball park. I don’t think they would appreciate the same if the consumer gives a totally inaccurate timeline for payment. Just my two cents.

Are there any discounts for these demo cars ? or do they have the standard reply that auto dealers have these days - "Sir, the biggest discount we can offer is that you will get the car on time"

Suspect they won't reduce the ex-showroom price. That said, one should be able to negotiate free accessories, PPF, etc. Time alone can't be sufficient incentive to buy a car test driven by many.

Grab it if you really wish to. I walked into Skoda dealership only to reconfirm that it's sold out & no new cars (Superb & Octavia) available before April-2022 end. No Superb available for dekho, only Style variant of Octavia, & no test drives.

It seems they are only interested in selling lesser (read cheap) variants & given up fighting Toyota in real executive class.

Disappointing it is, but consider this. There are some 100 or more happy customers getting these demo vehicles out of turn / ahead of schedule.

Sincerely hoping that Skoda comes out and gives a tentative delivery schedule to all of us in the waiting.

My dealer has delivered 6 so far in a combination of Black, Gray and white/silver, but none in Lava Blue which is my color. No information on further deliveries.

Does anyone have any update / information on delivery?

I am waiting for an update on delivery for Blue too. In my interactions with Skoda customer care, understand there is a batch of Lava Blue in production and deliveries could start end of February. Not sure but I got an impression that the batch sizes are no more than 15-20 cars.

I am sure L&K will be having leather seats.

Skoda normally offers leather seats in their cars, other than sportsline which will be alcantara. Octavia, Superb etc. has leather interiors, so I believe Kodiaq should have it too.

Comparatively VW offers leatherette in few of their cars - last gen Jetta in India, even new Tiguan (not sure though)
