On the booking docket our waiting period was mentioned as 13-14 weeks but our dealer managed it within 4 weeks!

Congratulations on your new car @PGNarain. Have you got any delivery updates from KIA before the call from SA. Have you opted for Maintenance Package.

Looking forward for your intial review. Happy revving

Congratulations, yours is probably the first Automatic to be delivered in Mumbai, my SA keeps saying they havent delivered a single automatic yet.

Hope yours is also the 1st ownership thread on Team Bhp.

Just one question, did you take the My Convenience Plus Package and did you manage to take insurance from outside or from the dealer itself.

Congratulations PGNarain. Your perhaps is the 1st D AT delivery PAN India. Do post your ownership review real soon and also your first impressions about the D AT. Also, are you hearing about any impending price increase from 01.04.2022 from your dealer?

I am waiting for my D AT eagerly.

Re: Kia Carens Review

My Prestige 1.5 P came with steel wheels. I asked a dealer about upgrade to alloys, and he said it would cost 25k+ for 4 wheels. Would it be a worthy upgrade? I don't care much about looks.

I am also planning to get seat covers. It's difficult due to 6 airbags, but the shop owner is a friend and said he can do it. Kia should really provide these as accessories. Do they expect customers to keep using fabric seats?

Re: Kia Carens Review

I too got my carens 1.4 prestige plus today.
I had 2 bookings made in February for 1.5 petrol and 1.5 diesel prestige from 2 separate dealers. I came to know that 1.5 petrol delivery will take more than 6-8 months and by then due to price increase it will loose it’s vfm factor. For diesel prestige I was given 21 weeks waiting which was again just to cover up delays. However during all this I got this readily available 1.4 prestige plus white as someone cancelled. So decided to take the opportunity to upgrade. Fun fact I paid less than the prestige .

The gross weight is 1920kgs and unladen weight is 1330kgs. Hope this helps.

They are getting very less diesel models due to the chip shortage. The petrol top end models supply is prioritised due to obvious reason. However prestige plus is in much demand after luxury plus auto.

Congrats on your new car! Wish you years of happy ownership.

Can you please explain how you paid less than prestige for Prestige plus?

I opted for BH registration from a state which allows this facility to private salaried employees. If I compare with Karnataka, it’s more than 2.5 lakhs less for the same model.

I guess maharastra too allows. Check if you are eligible to opt for this.

Ok. No, I am not eligible for BH registration, because my company is present in only one state.

Anyways, I paid a bit above 1 lakh as RTO charges. Not much.

No. For me, ride comfort is paramount. So will continue with small wheel and large tyre.

Absolutely possible.
Look for "airbag friendly seat covers", multiple shops exist dealing with those. Even I have seen a lot of videos on it.

Sample screenshots ...

@pseudo_coder: what all accessories you have installed?

As updated, I will be getting my prestige 1.5NA next week. So, I went ahead and enquired about accessories. I m planning to have few accessories like door guard, visor, mud flap like that from showroom.

Planning to install floor mat (in showroom they charge 9k+ for 2 layers, wherein elegant auto accessories charges 6K+ for 7D mat), sun films, DashCam from elegant auto accessories showroom. They have airbag friendly seat covers. It was really cushy and soft. But, costly. They quoted 30k for Carens.

Floor mat, mostly will go with PVC plus Velcro type noodle mats.

For wheels, I m not planning to upsize it. OEM wheels should give more comfort. May be later on I will change the wheel cover when good designs arrive in the market. That will be more than enough for me.

Note: Elegant is know brand for auto accessories. I haven't used any of their product. Guys, please tell me how their quality is?

The showroom was adamant on selling the full accessories pack worth 19k. I bargained, took AMC instead, and took a few accessories:
- 3d floor mats: ₹4800
- 3d boot mat: 1200
- Door sil guard: 1200
- microfiber: 99

Now planning to get the following from Sky Car lounge, Pune, which is owned by a friend.

- Ceramic coating
- Seat covers
- Floor lamination
- Dashcams (battery powered, so as not to void the warranty)
- Dustbin
- Air compressor
- Puncture repair kit
- Body cover
- Duster

Anything essential I missed? Please suggest.

This will do? I m going to skip seat covers and Ceramic coating for now.

By the ways, is Ceramic coating is a must have one?
