Mine went in for denting work and they replaced it on their own. When I saw it in the final bill (billed as 0), I asked them what it is. They said they checked the vehicle's VIN in their system to check if there were any updates pending. Since mine was listed in their system, they changed it. Ambient temperature is now showing realistic figures as compared to 50s and 60s while being stuck in traffic.

Not sure if this is for specific batches or a silent recall. They did not comment anything when I asked the same.

Re: Kia Carens Review

There are news reports of Kia hiking prices of all cars in its range by upto Rs 50K in January. For Carens, it would be the third hike in a year. May have an impact on sales depending on the hike amount by Carens models.

That I believe houses the centre speaker for the audio system.

Even I am trying to find out. I don't know what's in there but it's definitely not any speaker/woofer!

That hosts the woofer/subwoofer of the music system, only for models with Bose Music System. For others, it should be dummy.

Re: Kia Carens Review

Recent trip experience:
We completed a trip of around 800 kms from Pune to Ratnagiri to Kolhapur and back to Pune in our Carens Lux+ P DCT.
There were 4 adults and 2 kids onboard. It was an awesome experience overall. The ride comfort was excellent and car performed well in ghats and on inclines. With half seat folded in the 3rd row, there was ample space for luggage for 4 days. All the passengers were comfortable and didn't experience any fatigue after the long drives. This being my first long trip in an automatic, I didn't feel any exertion after driving continuously for 3-4 hours. Features such as sun blinds, storage tray below co-passenger seat, ventilated seats and individual roof-mounted AC vents proved very useful.
On the fuel economy, tank to tank average came upto 13 kmpl whereas MID was showing it as 14.5 kmpl. This was with 80:20 highway:city ratio with AC on full time.
Overall, I am highly impressed and satisfied with the Carens. Here is a pic from the trip:

Re: Kia Carens Review

Another day, another price hike by Kia.

Carens now starts from INR 10,19,900. Price of 1.5 NA variants has been hiked by INR 20000; 1.4 T-GDI by 25000; and 1.5 Diesel by 45000.

The price gap between 1.4 T-GDI and Diesel now ranges between INR 50-60000 depending on the variant.

Re: Kia Carens Review

Booked Luxury Plus 1.4 DCT in Imperial blue colour. They had one in stock which is 12/22 manufactured. Planning to take delivery by weekend. Have opted for extended warranty. The dealer has provided price protection and has billed per 2022 year end pricing. He also confirmed that they're yet to receive updated price list from KIA which might come soon.

I did test drive Diesel AT as well however felt bit underwhelmed. 1.4 DCT seems to offer decent acceleration albeit with initial lag. Hope it grows on me. Seems to be a no nonsense car which ticks almost all boxes (except for that 5 star rating).

Good that I cancelled my booking after November hike. Three hikes within a year of launch . I had booked L+ diesel AT imperial blue in last March. They did offer me red, white and black colours after 5 months of waiting, but I was adamant on blue. I was willing to wait for blue which, as per dealer, is produced in very small numbers by Kia. November hike was the final nail in coffin. I asked them to let me skip accessories and buying insurance from them so that I can offset impact of November hike. They refused and I cancelled the booking.

How can they refuse a buyer's request to not buy accessories and insurance from them? Isn't that like our choice on what we need.
