Whenever you start a trip, go to settings and reset the long term to 0 KM. This is the only way you can manage long trips. 'Since Start' resets to 0 if the car has not started in two hours so what you need is 'Long-Term' to manage your trips.
Hello everyone,
Let me start off by saying a happy new year to all.
I have been using my Slavia Ambition AT for 1.5years now and done 15,000 kms. It's going great and I find reasons to drive the car more.
Reason for this post is that, I am looking for an audio upgrade with some plug and play speakers. Don't want to get into the business of adding amplifier and all that jazz.
I found some videos abroad where they replace stock VW speakers usually with this
https://www.focal.com/en/car-audio/c...genr/is-vw-165
Anyone has any recommendations for speakers? Would love to know if anyone has done plug and play audio upgrades and improvement in sound quality.
Thanks.

I had the same query for my Slavia! Quick question - does this reset the total distance traveled by the car? I’ve covered 4K kms and hope that doesn’t get erased by this..
I have completed another long drive in my Slavia 1.0 AT. Hyd-Bhopal-Jaipur-Jhansi-Hyd covering 3035 km. The car has been great except the ever so annoying noises from the dashboard and not so great AC, which wasn’t a factor in this trip due to winter.
Drive was a breeze on the highway and car is very comfortable. Car has covered over 27100 kms so far.
Somehow the right fog lamp stopped working! I will get that fixed in my next service.
I sometimes regret not picking the 1.5DSG!

Yes that will reset to zero but even if you don't reset manually it will automatically reset after 99+ hours.

The Skoda Slavia has 4 kinds of odo readouts.
1. Since start - This is reset every time you turn off the ignition for a brief duration (30 mins, I think, not sure, there must be a related post on this thread, please check). You can also reset this manually, if required.
2. Since refueling - As the name suggests this is automatically reset after every refuel.
3. Long term - This is the one which is being referred to in the conversation above. This gets automatically reset every 100 days or thereabouts. You can use this as an overall trip meter by resetting this manually using the infotainment system.
4. The main ODO - This records the distance travelled by the car since its rolling off the production line. It is illegal to reset this and typically cannot be tampered with by anyone.

I''ve heard these speakers and they're mighty good. Just get them only for the front doors and pair of coaxils for rear.

Thank you so much ashivas89! This is exactly the info that I was looking for. I followed the above instruction and it was perfect. Thank you! :)

We do have tweeter slots in the rear door as well, right? Any reason why we shouldn't get these for all 4 doors?

Yea, I had the same question. May be cause coaxials cost less. But since there is space for tweeters, I will go with the components in the rear as well.
I had faced some issues with the tweeters in my car where they had a crackling sound on certain songs, not all. I took the car to the service centre to get it replaced. The service advisor informed that the part will take time to come as it is not made in India and is imported. The tweeter is come after 5-6 months but I didn't send the vehicle yet. Below is the pic of the tweeter. I tried to google the part number to see if any other VW cars used the same part but I did not find any results. Looks like these are specially made for India spec cars. Someone who works in VW had commented that the OEM speakers are made by Harman Kardon. I don't know how far it is true.

The Long term gets reset after 99+ hours as mentioned by a member already.
Apart from this my Ambition with the analog instrument cluster has 4 trip meters and the main odo.
1. Since Refuelling
2. Since Start
3. Long term
4. Single trip meter which captures only the distance on the bottom right of the TFT screen in the instrument cluster (reference pic below)
5. Main Odometer on the bottom left of the TFT screen.
I usually reset the single trip merer to keep a track of the total distance on my long drives. Below is the total from my road trip to Rajasthan from Chennai. :)

It does but the the audio is designed in V shape so unless you're going for additional AMP I would leave the rear speakers as it

Any particular reason you say this? Do you find the 1 ltr underpowered on highways?
