For context, I booked a Skoda Slavia 1.5 DSG Lava Blue Prestige on Nov 13th last year. It’s been two months already but the dealer in Hyderabad (PPS Skoda) is saying that Kylaq production has been prioritized and they’ll know more about Slavia production plans only after Jan 13th. I’m getting frustrated now as it’s taking forever and without any confident timelines yet. Anyone else facing a similar issue?
I think they have. I went to a dealer in Pune for Slavia 1.5 DSG and the sales guy in there is committing a 2025 manufactured car delivery by first week of Feb.

That’s reasonable time to wait for a 2025 manufactured car. Sales guy is useless here in Hyderabad. In the last week of December, he mentioned that the ETA to share the ETA will be 4th of Jan when they will be aware of Skoda’s production plans. Until day before yesterday, no one reached out to me. When I called them back the sales manager was unresponsive and did not bother to call me back. Now, the new ETA to get the delivery ETA is 14 Jan. I’m certain that next week he will say sankranti holidays and new ETA will be one more week later. I’m okay to wait, but this lack of communication and clear lack of intent to sell by Skoda is concerning. I’m getting jittery about ASS already.

Re: Skoda Slavia Review

Hi All ,

My Slavia 1.5 TSI is making grinding noise when I brake only below 20kmph to full stopping the car (no sounds comes even if I apply brake at 160/120/80/30 kmph) especially after driving agressively for sometime even in Bangalore city. Service guys( Raja Skoda, Bangalore)said it might be the the pads have glazed due to overheating. I asked them to clean any dust and also sand the disc. Even after that the noise is coming, unfortunately

What is surprising to me is, I never heard this sound till I hit 15k in the odo and before my 1st service. Now my odo is 17k and even after two visits to service centre for this same concern, the issue won't go away. They checked my discs and pads and confirmed that they have a lot of life left did not need to be replaced. What can I do? Any suggestions please?

Which dealer and showroom location did you visit or booked the car with?

I visited PPS Kothaguda showroom mid of December last year, to enquire about Slavia 1.5 DSG. The response from SA was lukewarm and there was no interest or enthusiasm to sell the car or even show it to a prospective customer who just walked in. I was told that manufacturing has stopped and MY25 cars will arrive only in Feb. They had 3-4 test drive cars standing outside the showroom with typical test drive stickers on doors and yet the SA said no test drive cars are available. I pointed out to him the number of cars outside and was given weird reasons why those test drive cars were not available.

I wanted to back to back test drives of both 1.0 AT and 1.5 DSG, so I gave my number and asked for call back when test drive cars are available. It is close to a month and SA did not bother to even follow up with phone call or message. On the contrary, PPS showroom in Gopanpally is small but the salesperson was enthusiastic when I got in touch with them 6 months back.

Re: Skoda Slavia Review

I booked my 1.0 AT Sportline on 17th, delivered by 3rd Jan. Maybe delay is for the 1.5.

Yes, it’s the same showroom (PPS Kothaguda) where I have booked 1.5 DSG on Nov 13. They were trying to push one in the last week of Nov. After my PDI, I had rejected the car as it had dented and repainted front bumper. Now, I’m waiting for MY25 car, but no confirmation yet from PPS Kothaguda.

I totally agree with your sentiment. There is clear lack of intent from the dealer and even Skoda to focus on non-Kylaq models in the last month or so. Such a shame, given that they have the best 1.5 mil in town and yet not clocking enough numbers in the sales chart.

Its a known issue in Slavia when you come to almost a halt from speeds say for eg like coming to crawling speeds or halt before a huge road hump. The ASS tends to act unaware of this problem, but I’ve recently heard that there’s a new brake pad vendor, and updated brake pads are now available. I haven’t replaced mine yet but am considering it and will share an update if I go ahead with the change.

I agree its frustrating to deal with such dealers. Creates a bit of doubt in ones mind after going through such experiences. Wonder why its so difficult for these dealer folks to keep the communication open and clear. Customers (or potential ones) now a days are well informed thanks to social media and portals such as TeamBHP. Luckily for me, in Pune I had 2 different dealers to choose from so I could cross verify.

Sorry to be going a bit off topic here but anyone aware of any discounts offered for 2025 mfg Slavia 1.5 DSG? Would be helpful for my negotiations. TIA.

But I didn't clean my rear windshield so the bus registration number isn't visible in the footage. I noted it down after I came to the side and the bus was departing from the bus stop.

1. The paint has chipped off in two places in the rear bumper. Its small but when you look at it closely its not pretty especially for a ~2 month old car. Should I claim insurance for this considering the fact that I would lose my NCB next year during renewal ? Any idea how much would repainting the rear bumper cost ? Any good FNGs that can fix this, should I even consider an FNG for a brand new car ?

2. Any way I can complain to BMTC ? Its India so its a long shot anything meaningful would come out of this but still want folks to beware of idiot bus drivers like that. I am linking the video of the incident as well. The rear end happenshttps://www.Youtube.com/watch?v=uKar...b_channel=SudK at 00:09-00:10s
Yes this is painful but this is absolutely nothing . Go to workshop get a touch up via original paint which is done for free and in few days you will forget that a peel off even happened.

No harm in complaining to bmtc with a proof. You never know you might be compensated

This thread (The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals) has more recent updates on discounts, this post I tagged mentions November discounts.
You can always post there to see BHPians replies on what kind of quotes are being offered across India.

Kushaq/Taigun 1.5 usually have more discounts than Virtus/Slavia 1.5 is what I've noticed.
Skoda also runs sales on various days of the month on older models, and since its their 25th year in India, hopefully the sales should be more this year.

You should be able to grab a good deal on 2024 stock from the stockyard, if you're looking for a bigger discount.

Since you're in Pune, you can always pit Garve Skoda against Akoya

I have an SA's contact in Garve Skoda if you want to talk directly.

I didn't close the deal on the Slavia Prestige since I went ahead with the Virtus 1.0 Topline AT, but the SA was always very professional and helpful in providing a good deal.

1. It's a minor incident, I would recommend not claiming insurance and get it repainted at a good FNG.

2. Do complain on Twitter (X) tagging BMTC with the video and any pictures you might have showing the bus number along with location and time details. They respond sometimes. You could also tag ThirdEye (I don't know him, but he's pretty active and has good reach). Should give you enough traction.

Thanks buddy. Yes, I did that and I am planning to go ahead with Garve finally.

They (both Akoya & Garve) only had a few color/engine/transmission combination left from 2024 inventory. None of which worked for me. And then Garve gave me a good deal on the 2025 mfg model so I went ahead and booked it.

Just trying to squeeze the last drop out of the deal now . No harm in trying I guess.

Re: Skoda Slavia Review

Is there a facelift planned for the Slavia in 2025? Interested in 1.5 prestige but willing to wait it out for the facelifted model, if it's coming.

Thanks! This dechromed version was the only reason I felt that I need not wait till the 2025 Slavia facelift. In the flesh it is a treat to the eyes. The Blue was an instant choice of colour.

If the booking is done, best you can get post that is complimentary EW, accessories or SMP.

Else, showing that you'll do a Virtus booking is the last option
