The price is cheaper but do you guys suggest going for them?
Please avoid, as you plan to keep the car for long. Fresh piece from the plant is always the best option, for peace of mind, among other things.

Hey , One thing to keep in mind, 20kmpl is not really an average figure and is achievable for MT for the DSG AT 1.5 my average mileage is 8.5-9 kmpl, it’s is a mix of 80% city , 20% highway runs and an average of 14 kmpl for highway-only trips

This is the latest colour for Slavia and Kushaq as well called lava blue. It would be coming in Taigun and Virtus too.

Re: Skoda Slavia Review

It's the same colour I think as Russian Skoda Rapid. This colour should have been on Slavia and Kushaq since the start.

I am sure many people will opt for it.

Doesn’t the ACT help in highway drives?
I m a sedate driver, I do enjoy occasional speed runs but I generally keep my right foot light. Even during the test drive I saw it entering eco mode 2-3 times.

You can easily achieve 18+ on highway drives with light foot, you will be surprised to see the efficiency rise 20+ on highways and dropping to 9-10 in dense city traffic.

Seems like the Verna handles better than the VAG sedans. Watch from 00:54

Re: Skoda Slavia Review

Soft turn off and turn on of all interior lights and switch illumination - Isnt it there by default in the cars? Like when you manually turn off the light in the rotary switch, every light in the cabin fades out slowly and vice versa. I saw some video in insta where some page had claimed that they are enabling it via coding. But when I checked it was already the case in my car and I don't remember enabling it via VCDS.

Re: Skoda Slavia Review

18 days and 2,550 KMs update:

  • Covered over 1,600 KMs in last 6 days visiting Tandi, Sissu, Manali, Kasol and Manikaran
  • Positives: Ride, handling, gear shifts, pickup.
  • Negatives: AC, one touch up-down function on the driver window.
  • We were 4 adults plus 1 kid (in car seat), car accommodated everyone comfortably including our 4 suitcases, 2 duffle bags and 2 backpack with a stroller.
  • Rides so well, I was a bit skeptical on how comfortable the ride will be after Scross. Twisties were so much fun! Continental UC6 did the job well, I am loving these tyres, have the same spec on my Polo.
  • VAG needs to do something about the AC, on the return leg, at 42 deg outside temp it simply failed to keep the cabin cool. Had to idle the car under shade for 15 mins to make the cabin comfortable. Cooled seats came to the rescue for both the front passenger and driver.
  • One touch up-down works sometimes, sometime doesn't. What I noticed is the 12V charging socket and type-c ports are always on. I have to unplug my dashcam every-time I park the car.

Sharing some pictures from the trip:

Re: Skoda Slavia Review

Sad to see that even in the latest iteration (read Anniversary Edition), Skoda has failed to fix the 2 issues.

Weren't these issues reportedly resolved by some Software updates? Shouldn't the newer lot have these updates from factory?

Despite the 'Simply Stupid' always on connections in the front, the rear 2 x USB C ports are thankfully connected to ignition - they turn off when the car is switched off. They also supply >1amp @5v so I have a small USB splitter with which 2 gadgets are connected (dashcam + gps HUD).

As far as I know even the front USB ports turn off but with the head unit, which turns off after you turn off ignition and step out of the vehicle. Its only the 12V socket that is always on irrespective of other conditions.

Basically German cars have a concept of a vehicle bus sleep which turns off components one by one based on trigger conditions such as ignition off, driver door open, vehicle lock and so. The head unit actually stays switched on even though its display turns off for a while until the vehicle is locked. Only after that its powered off.

Re: Skoda Slavia Review

Just did a Mumbai-Goa return trip via Amboli in my Slavia 1.5 Style DSG and though the return was marred by an accident at Amboli, the car held up beautifully right through. What was most impressive was the mileage which was unexpected all factors considered. XP95 was the diet throughout. The break up is as follows(tankful to tankful or as mentioned):
1) Residence at Bandra to Shivraj petrol stn. Satara: 266km, 15.38L, 17.3km/L
2) Satara to Goa+in Goa: 486km, 31.28L, 15.54km/l.
3) Goa to Prakash expressway stn. Khopoli: 512km, 29.78L, 17.19km/L
4) Prakash to residence: 70km, 16.8km/L (as per car comp). Actual would be around 16.3km/L. Difference normally is around 0.5km/L
This translates to a round trip average of 16.52km/L which, all factors considered is excellent. Very rarely crossed 100km/H and adhered to speed limits as far as possible. ACT really does play its part in this.
