I got my Exclusive version 3 weeks ago. I waited a year for the Excite version, but to no avail. Guess some things are not meant to be, I could have done without all the extra features in the Exclusive version.

Congratulations! Red looks great! The monsoon has started setting in in Chennai and the white is a pain to maintain.

I drive the car so I personally haven't really spent any quality time in the rear. But my children and mother in law haven't complained even though they have only sat in the car during city drives. If it is a priority then it might be a deal breaker.

Below are the new prices. That's a hike of ~62K on ex-showroom price translating to a hike of 1L on road.
Man! It looks like both of us dodged a bullet here!

On March 18th 2022.
Booked a black one. I would have to wait longer for the black. They offered me a red one earlier this month so I took it.

This is my biggest gripe with this car. When we receive or make calls over Android Auto or bluetooth sometimes the call volume is incredibly low and almost inaudible. It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens completely randomly to some calls.
I tried out a 20 kw Zeon DC fast charger at Mahabalipuram. I also tried out Zeon's RFID tag facility. The charging was trouble-free. The RFID tag also worked seamlessly.

Few times I have received calls over Bluetooth and Apple Carplay, the call volume was never a problem. Neither the caller nor I had any problems hearing each other clearly.

When I am not connected with Apple Carplay, I have tried JioSaavn and Shortpedia apps. Both work well. No issues at all.

Re: 2022 MG ZS EV Facelift Review

The Excite variant has been soft-launched. I got the details from my SA.
Sharing the brochure here.

The following are the omissions from the Exclusive variant:
Sunroof, wireless charger, rear seat arm rest, auto fold ORVM, power adjusted driver seat, seat back pockets, Rear drive assist.

The exclusive now gets a new interior dual-tone color scheme.
The price has been increased by 70k across the board.

Re: 2022 MG ZS EV Facelift Review

The Excite version looks like good value for money. MG has a winner here and I think the waiting list is going to be long.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Excite attracts customers of the top-end Creta/Seltos. For just Rs. 1L to 2L extra, they'd get much better performance, negligible running costs and possibly better safety. The trade off would be giving up a few creature comforts like sunroof, better sound system and ventilated seating.

The MG Excite also looks like better bang for the buck vs. the Nexon Max. For just about 10-15% more over the top end Nexon Max, you have a larger car from a segment above, much more kit (360 cam, 6 airbags etc), more polished software and much better peace of mind.

This is why those saying electric cars will become cheaper are wrong. The rate of price increase is higher due to rupee depreciating and overall inflation. When every raw material is getting expensive each year cars (IC or EV) will only get more expensive.

But a EV will start saving the moment you start driving it.

You are right on the impact of currency depreciation but that's just one part of the cost. EV components like battery and motor still don't enjoy the economies of scale that ICE transmission and engine units do. When you have been manufacturing for decades with units in the millions, the economies of scale are huge.

As EVs start becoming more popular, the ICE world's advantage in economies of scale will start slipping and at the same time EV's economies of scale will pick up. While this alone may not be enough to reach parity in upfront investment between both types of vehicles, it will drastically reduce the gap.

The car got a software update during it's first service and the problem hasn't resurfaced.

Quick update: Just got back from a trip to Jim Corbett. The spoiler does work! Not flawlessly but as you can see in the picture, it stopped massive amount of dirt going on to the rear end. I would be waxing the spoiler as it is quite sticky and hence the dirt sticks to it.

I saw a custom bodywork online. I think this would work perfectly! Not sure where in NCR can I get someone to get this done

Re: 2022 MG ZS EV Facelift Review

and Here it is after the PPF coat and minus the "electric" and internet inside badges.
The finish looks good, but i feel the colour has become a tad bit darker.
What do you folks think?

It has, just took mine for the second service on friday. Saw 3 brand new ZS EVs standing there in the lot. They were silver but considerably darker, closer to the astor silver. Could be the same with Red

BTW were you able to get the front covered with PPF?
