Re: 2022 MG ZS EV Facelift Review

Hi,

I have MG ZS EV Exclusive, red color scheduled to be delivered on October 27th, 2022 (this Thursday). I already saved money by taking insurance from Acko as advised in this forum. Thanks a lot.
Now I need advise on what accessories I have to buy from the MG showroom.
I have shortlisted below ones:
Mud Flaps - 499
3D Mats - 4,499
Rear spoiler entry - 3,254
Bumper corner protector chrome - 1,599
Hood branding chrome - 1,400 (I liked the way it looks on EV)

Thanks

I only bought Mud flaps and 3D mats. This was hard to get from the outside market and the prices quoted were reasonable and the mats fit perfectly.

Yes, even in Mysore I saw few newly delivered ZS EV on the road including one delivered to my relative.

There is a group on Pulse app, but a whatsapp group would be useful.

Hey
They quoted 25k for the accessories
I paid approx 6k for floor mats, mud flaps, tissue box, keychain, document folder(no manual received?) and the idol.
They were charging 16k for a side step which i did not find useful as the car is not too high for ingress, merely cosmetic.
And the floor mats are not yet in stock!
They have promised to give by month end
Will look aftermarket, if i manage to procure the same, will ask for a refund.
My dad was very surprised to see that these things were chargeable, he assumed they were complimentary as were in his “good old days”

Can you share when you booked your car? I am awaiting delivery myself.

I booked on May 8, 2022. Had to push the sales man a lot to get the car delivered this month.

Re: 2022 MG ZS EV Facelift Review

Fellow BHPians,
I test drove the ZS EV and booked the Excite variant at Bangalore. Verbally the SA promises quick delivery if I forget colour options. However, when I received a formal notice, it says Excite has a waiting period of 12-14 months.
Post booking, I got a call from SA to mention that the colour of my choice Red is not available. At present only Silver or White is being rolled out on Excite.

Anyone else got similar feedback from other dealers ?

I am considering downgrading my booking from exclusive to excite. Is there a TD available for excite?

I think the power train would remain the same, the differences maybe purely cosmetic, with the panaromic sunroof being the main differentiator between the two. If not for the waiting period, the excite is definitely more bang for the buck! It wasn’t available to book when they launched the facelift back in march
Please update us if you find anything else worth mentioning

I was curious to try this out on my sisters 2020 ZS. The battery was charged to 100% and I drove it around 15-20 kms in which the charge dropped below 95%. The regen worked like always, right from 100%. I cross checked on the display as well which shows an image on the current flow.
Maybe it is something new on the later cars.

Better not to. Considering the tremendous response for exclusive variant itself, MG is less likely to build enough excite variants anytime soon.

Off the topic, can anyone explain how the MG BUY BACK scheme works?

I had the same concern and hence didn't book it on Excite launch. But I have changed my mind for the following reasons:

1. We have seen posts on our forum where people have reported a waiting period of 2 months being shared. MG has been pretty honest about their waiting period till now.

2. MG's production has shot up significantly to ~750 units per month post the excite launch.

3. While MG will prioritize making the most profitable variant, it is possible that they are able to procure more Excite kits from China than exclusive due to the additional chips being used in exclusive.

Anyways I have mitigated the delayed delivery risk by retaining my exclusive booking. Booked the Excite variant with another dealer. I also have an Ioniq 5 unofficially booked. Let's see what the car Gods have in store for me.
