Re: Jeep Meridian Review

I've been following this thread closely off-late, but not because I'm interested in buying this car.

Once the (over)price reveal happens tomorrow, the responses to that on this thread will keep me entertained and amused for hours! Cant wait! Dont disappoint me Jeep by pricing this sensibly I'm joking here of course, I don't REALLY want any car to be overpriced.

The dimensions of the Compass and Meridian are significantly different when compared to the likes of Harrier/Safari, XUV 7OO 5L/7L or Hector/Hector+. Meridian cannot be a Compass replacement and the two look significantly different in size when seen from the side profile (Hence the Hexa effect too!)

Meridian - Compass = 391mm
Safari - Harrier = 63mm
Hector+ - Hector= 65mm.

Meridian is 8.8% longer than a Compass, whereas the Safari is just 1.3% longer than a Harrier. Even the Hector+ is 1.3% more than a regular Hector. XUV retains the same dimensions for both.

In other words, Jeep extended the Compass platform 6 times more than what TATA / MG did to create their 7-seaters. Did it help? Not really - because the base vehicle, the Compass, is a compact crossover and the end result of the extension is still smaller than the other two.

That said - Jeep could have compromised on boot space to liberate more 3rd-row room. The current boot space is almost class-leading and if it was made similar to a Safari, the problem would have solved completely.

Safari - 73L
Hector+ - 155L
Fortuner - 200L
XUV 7OOL - 220L
Meridian - 233L

I guess that decision was taken in view of the popular Brazilian market. However, Jeep India shouldn't have removed the 2nd row adjustments then!

Re: Jeep Meridian Review

Very unlike Jeep to advertise “Irresistible price”. Wonder what they are comparing against? I got invited for the launch at KHT Bangalore(As a compass owner and the who cribs the most about the rattling noises!)

Hope they really have some irresistible price on offer.

How long did it take for rattles to show up in your car? I've had mine 4 days and I have the occasional rattling rattling coming from the dashboard.

Re: Jeep Meridian Review

The Jeep Meridian’s pricing is expected to start at 35 lakhs on road Delhi. One can save a bit in Gurugram & Faridabad. However, I believe that for 4x2 automatic variant & in that case it may be a costly preposition for what’s on offer on the Limited variant minus the 4x4 mechanicals.

I was called for evening unveiling , but can’t got because of office work. Maybe visiting Mathura Road or Noida this weekend as my Safari is delayed.

1 week.
Just need a small stretch of “indian” road. After that, even if you drive on a run way - you will get the rattling noise. It’s just horrible.

Not trying to make this thread about the Fortuner, but are you sure about this? I always thought Fortuner boot is 296 litres.
Anyways it sure takes in all of our luggage even with all seats up

Re: Jeep Meridian Review

Neither here or there pricing. Not sure which buyers they are targeting. Most probably will eat into Gloster's share. Good luck to them its really important to have more players in the field.

Re: Jeep Meridian Review

Introductory Price! This is fortuner and kodiaq territory at much lower powered engine. Does is make sense to buy non 4*4 version of meridian? Innova offers everything that non 4*4 version offers!
