I haven't been using Sygic. Mainly it's Google maps.
One more thing I noticed is that the volume issue is maybe related to Android Auto. Because without it if I'm listening to music, the volume doesn't go down |
Were you able to figure out the cause? I have tried all but not sure which setting in Google maps it is. I know that it does this whenever a road changes and have tried making notifications to alerts only, still not able to get rid of it.
Everytime the volume reduces, i need to activate and cancel voice command to get it to normal level or keep it max. :Frustrati

Hi Wohroy, I inquired my dealer in Chennai regarding the same. It can be done. He quoted 8 to 9k around for Sub and for amp he quoted some crazy amount. I am not sure if thats the right quote.
IF you get the quote, please do share and also the brand they offer. |
Thanks a ton, Shiv. I am yet to receive one from the Mumbai dealer. But the amp price of 1 lakh is preposterous. A Sony or a JBL with up to 1000W power comes below Rs 10k. And as a B2B deal, VW must have got the components at dirt cheap rates.
When I get to know about it in Mumbai, I will share in this thread.

I had a similar issue which later someone suggested in the forum is due to Sygic, went to apps on the HU and uninstalled Sygic and now all is good.
Just to let you know I was not even using Sygic when volume used to go down and sometimes audio used to cut off and come back. I rely on Google maps through Apple car play.
Slavia and Virtus 1.5 come with ACT. Isn't it bad in the long run? I mean 2 cylinders in continuous up and down motion without the supply of oil. Isn't that harmful to the cylinder in terns of long term reliability? Is there any possibility of coding out this feature?

There's no cut-off of the supply of oil, otherwise the engine would have seized in minutes, only the petrol supply is stopped. So nothing to worry about. Take a test drive, the transition from 4 cylinders to 2 cylinders is so seamless that you wouldn't even feel any difference.

My bad. I was talking about petrol only. Is it somehow going to affect the long term reliability? I did take the test drive and loved the engine. But I plan to keep the car for 10-15 years, hence the concern. Even some YouTubers like like Scotty Kilmer suggest the same.
1.0 TSI has no such fancy technology but lacks in performance. So I'm utterly confused.
I think there will be more wear and tear in the two active cylinders with respect to the two cylinders whose fuel supply is cut off ,unless there is some mechanism in built so as to allow alternative switching of cylinders in engine. But it will be gradual and in very long term. Only an expert can throw more light regarding this aspect.
Hello fellow members, today took delivery of Virtus GT Plus Silver in MT (with new features : Electric seats, subwoofer-amplifier and footwear illumination)
1) Just brought the car home driving very slowly and gently.
2) Delivery went smooth.
3) For those, wondering, Electricity seats are 6-way.
AC is working great, along with driver side window. AC makes a hissing sound though.
4) The sound output quality of audio system is phenomenal. It is significantly better than many branded (Bose, Arkamys etc.) Systems.
Immediate Dislikes
1) Stock Horn is very bad.
Will post a detailed r

Many congratulations, nice to know about the sound system, awaiting your detailed review.
Meanwhile, would you be so kind as to let me know around when you booked your vehicle? I booked my MT online in late August, and it is yet to be shipped to the local VW dealership here.

Hello, I paid booking amt. on 10th October.
My order was punched in (as per dealership) on 11th October.
Two things.
1) I was offered older stock of 1.5 MT GT+ (before updates) within 1 week by the
owner of dealership itself. (Along with 40K further discount). But I insisted strongly on new version with updated features (elec. seats, subwoofer-amplifier, footwell illumination)
2) I was asked for alternative colours. But I was adamant on Silver only and didn't give other Choice despite them asking several times
Dates given to me were -
- first, within October. Not met
Then 9th November I was offered a White GT+ MT which I refused.
- then, by Dhanteras. Not met.
Then I was told on 15th November that my car was ready but reason for delay was that dealership had many bookings and the truck will be dispatched only once from factory. So they were waiting for all cars to be allotted (which was very reasonable)
- then, I was commited 30th November. 1st December I received the car. I took delivery from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
So, all in all, for variant and colour of my choice : 50 Days.
I think difference is that I booked offline via dealership. In online booking, there is a possibility that dealer margin is affected, which might make them lose interest in prioritizing yours.
Regards,

Happy to know that you were able to stand your ground and eventually get the vehicle with the specifications of your choice. Unfortunately, the Black MT appears to be an elusive proposition. Yes, you're probably right; I probably messed up by booking it online, but the +90 days waiting period feels a bit much. Thanks for the insight regardless.

That fixed it. Thank you. should have tried it earlier.
Tested on a long drive without Sygic installed. Now need to rerun once with simply turning off the notifications. I understand that this should also work as per other posts on Taigun and Virtus threads.
A volkswagen dealer is offering me August made MY23 model of Virtus GT+. Price difference betwenn MY24 (With electric seats) and MY23 is around 40K. I don't care too much about the electric seats, should I consider the MY23 Model? My only concern is that it is 4 months old, and for a supposedly hot selling lava blue model it's a bit strange that it should remain unsold for so long.
Also should I negotiate for better discount if I do decide to go for the MY23 model? as out of the 40k price difference around 30k would be because of ex-showroom price only. So I am only getting additional 10k discount for buying a 4 month old vehicle.

I would suggest to go for the new one. since you are going for the top variant.
No harm in showing off electric seats when you have spent that kind of money, also you get a better music system.
I would stay away from the Aug build as we don't know what all it has weathered till now and even the price difference is not worth the bother.

I had a similar dilemma 2 months back. I made a choice based on few considerations.
1) As you begin buying most recent iterations, the product improves. Company finds many faults and shortcomings which are slowly fixed in lots and batches which are not known to us. :D
2) Discount you are getting is no discount because, there was a price revision in between.
3) Electric seats of Virtus are proper 6 way. These are good.
4) The subwoofer-amplifier addon is important in my opinion. :Cheering:
5) Psychologically, you are buying the top model, but in reality, it would not be so. :unhappy
If still you go for MY23 one, try to get more discount. May be 50k more. Because, Volkswagen and it's dealers are really in a spot with older Virtuses. I was offered 40k discount instantly without bargaining 2 months back. You are getting same after bargaining 2 months later. :disappointed
Regards.
