My SA has informed me that vehicle will be available in next lot, and expected to reach them after 25 June. Is this possible, or should I take it with a pinch (or truckload) of salt?

Also keeping fingers crossed that ICU remains unchanged.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

My VW Virtus 1.5 DSG in Carbon Steel Grey has reached the showroom. Here is an image I took during the PDI. Surprised that the spare tyre is the same size as the main 4 tyres- 205, 55 R16 and not a size smaller. The 4 running tyres are MRF while the spare tyre is Goodyear. I am quite sure that the display car spare tyre was 195, 60, R15 when I had gone to check out the car the first time about three weeks ago.
The infotainment unit is 10 inches and not downgraded to 8 inches as in Skoda Slavia.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

After weeks of contemplation and research finally booked the Virtus 1.0 Topline AT in Relex Silver today. I have been committed to a waiting period of 4-6 weeks. I took an extensive test drive of the car and did not feel the air conditioning lacking in any sense at all unlike the Slavia’s.

I do have some questions, does anyone have any real-time FE figures yet? Also, has anyone enquired if there is a possibility to change the stock black & beige seat covers with the black & red from the GT?

Display car in Relex Silver.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

I had pre-booked the Virtus GT in blue in May. SA called me for payment today but didn't have any vehicle ready. He didn't even show up for negotiation and sent someone else instead. Dealership quote for insurance is 92k whereas it is available online for 35k. Dealer said insurance is non-negotiable, manager said the same thing and refused to give me a car without purchasing insurance from them. Horrid experience this has been.

Needless to say, I immediately cancelled the booking and approached another dealership who said he has no such restrictions and promised me a car within 1 month.

In case anyone is looking to get urgent delivery of the GT and is willing to jump through these hoops, DM me and I can connect you with the SA

Congratulations Buddy. Only GT variant gets full size Steel wheel, topline gets 15". Also what is the manufacturing month of your car? I'm awaiting my GT as well. Hope to get it by next week with the actual 10" display.

I was told during Test drive of 1.0 that 1.0 comes with full size steel wheel whereas GT is coming with full size alloy wheel. Yours has alloy or steel wheel?

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

The spare wheel has steel rim. The manufacturing month is May 2022. I was told by the SA that a price hike is on the cards by October. Could be in the region of 70K-120k. There is no news regarding the downsizing of the ICE screen but it is likely once the current lot of cars is delivered.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Got this New Baby. Went in for the highline 1.0 MT.
The first initial impressions from well wishers were,
"Wow! did you get a Jetta/Passat?"
The first thing I need to get are floor Mats ,Can anyone suggest a good site online or a shop in Mumbai?
Looks stunning in carbon steel. Would have preferred black but fortunately to my goodluck at night it gives an impression of being a black colored car.
Sharing a few pics now, will be giving a detailed review shortly.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Awesome pics. Specially the ones with the valley and mountain view in the backdrop. By the way, didn't the dealer fix a number plate holder on the front and back. It is surprising that Volkswagen didn't provide an indent for the the number plate. I just hope when it gets fixed it is in the center and not off centered.

I picked up my carbon steel grey Virtus 1.5 GT yesterday.

Opted out of the 4 year service pack that costs around 30k as upto the first major service at 15,000 kms/one year is free for labour. Fluids and filters should cost around 6000-7000k. After that I thought of taking the service pack. I am quite sure VW will come out with a scheme then, going by my experience of owning a Polo.

Took insurance from Policy Bazaar @35000. Dealer was quoting 81000.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Congratulations to all the new Virtus owners!
One question- You got the 10.1 inch or 8inch infotainment system?
In case you got 10.1 ones and the 8inch starts coming from july, your cars will be the rare ones :-)

All the initial batches are getting the 10 inch system. Although I don’t have any issues with the 8 inch system, what I really would have missed is the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Wireless Apple CarPlay is such a breeze to use - get in the car, the phone auto connects and the music resumes. Although this is true for even the bluetooth connection, having the entire CarPlay OS auto resume takes it to another level.

Got the 10.1 inch which looks fabulous. Super slick to use. I just hope it supports addons in terms of hardware such as front cameras or 360 degree cameras.
However, I got the rotary air conditioning knobs instead of the touch panel.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Will this Seat sliding rail manage to hurt passenger's feet?
If the seat is pushed back the rails also move back so much that it touches the shoes so wondering if it can hurt someone wearing sandles/slippers. It does not have any plastic cap as well.
