Re: Citroen C3 Review

You can fix MOCO 360. I have it on my old horse the 2017 Nexon and it is as good as OEM, screen is outstanding at 2K.

As far as I know, Citroen's India sales is just a side gig for them. The main gig is exporting made in India vehicles.
So they should not be taking the direction that other Stellantis group participating members took in India, and you should be safe in terms of availability of spares and service ( this could be a challenge ).

Citreon is already heading towards Fiat story. Excellent cars but disinterested company.
The website shows Thane, Andheri (2) & Navi Mumbai. So now all 3 are closed? If so its a shame. Utter shame.

Re: Citroen C3 Review

Mumbai dealer has changed first in last 18 months from PPS Motors to Garnet and now to Landmark. Hopefully a bit more stability now.

Re: Citroen C3 Review

With Citroen doing these kind of numbers (in the hundreds) all over India, no wonder dealerships are shutting shop, the car needs to sell for dealers to stay afloat and the company needs to do its best to ensure that.

Re: Citroen C3 Review

1 year and 6000 kms ownership Report

Model : C3 Turbo 6MT

Kms covered : 5985

Accessories added: ( from dealer) ; Engine guard, 3D mats, boot mat, underbody rust coating

From outside : Alloy wheels, Vredestein Ultrac 195/65 tires, door damping, equalizer, amp, subwoofer and the works.

Pros:

- Comfort: in terms of seat and the ride
- Reliability : Not the most complex piece of kit on the road, so good reliability till now
- Compact size and high seating position
- Super effective air conditioning
- Explosive mid-range performance ( this car is in its element on the twisty MC road and other narrow highways in Kerala)
- Adequate boot space
- Wireless android auto
- Bright headlamps
- No need to bang shut any door or the boot. Just gradually release it and it locks in place. Love Citroen for this. Au contraire...., I have to inform my passengers not to slam the doors !
- slick gearbox ( although the gate spacing is less, like the MH410 Zen)
- steering feel and response at highway speeds
- All switches are backlit, very useful on night drives
- Reasonable service interval and cost ( yearly once and it cost me 7500 rupees including oil change, alignment etc. EVM Citroen has been good to me so far

Cons:

- Not that great to drive in city ( turbo lag, wooly steering, bunny hopping due to turbo suddenly coming on boost etc etc.)
- Mediocre fuel efficiency ( 9 to 12 km/l ) depending on city or highway, although if you bring down the speed a little, mileage should be better
- Pipette sized fuel tank. I mean 30 liters in a turbo ! Very risky especially for trips to the middle of nowhere ( i was once almost stranded in Munnar)
- Three cylinder vibration and fluttering at idle ( especially when cold)
- Missing features ( I chose the base model as I didnt like the company alloys), though these bare minimum stuff have now been added to the later models - auto folding mirrors, flip key etc.
- atrocious key design - too long and it pokes you when you put it in your trouser pocket
- rear power window placement
- front seat rails extend way back and it hurts ingress for elderly people. My mother always rubs her leg against the steel girder like seat rail resulting in her cursing the car every time she gets in
- Missing front passenger grab handle. Super useful for elderly folk, but Citroen don't see the need for it
- flimsy ac middle vents, crap quality. They already have lost the ability to stay in place and swing down. You have to push it up. might have to replace them under warranty

Conclusion:

I would recommend this car ONLY to those who love driving and are willing to put up with its foibles.

For everyone else who are looking for a car as their ONLY car, I would suggest to look for more mainstream ones like Maruti, Tata or Hyundai- both for the features, fuel efficiency and the service network.

I love my Citroen though

Thanks Nanolover for sharing your experience. With the updates from last year, the C3 has become more palatable. But with the lack of touch points, it still doesn't cut out as the only car.

This has been remedied by the C3 Dark Edition that was just launched. Fuel tank capacity has been updated to be 45 litres. Fuel grade too has been updated and the car is now E20 compliant.

Just had my first experience with Landmark Citroen service centre. It wasn't good.

My car needed a windscreen replacement due to an unintended interaction with a coconut! That is when my saga with Landmark started. Firstly they said they were in the process of setting up so i had to wait 2 weeks for the workshop to open. Luckily the crack in the windscreen wasnt too bad so i continued using the car till then.

Once they had opened the service centre they collected the car. Except that its located in Thane - 40 km away! No service centre in all of Mumbai sounds a bit crazy!

After my car reached the ASS, i informed them that i had already filed a claim with the insurance company. A few days later I was informed that the surveyor had come and allowed the claim.

I naturally expected that the car would now be ready in a day or two at max. Unfortunately that didn't happen. I was told that the part wasnt available and would take 2 weeks to arrive! Considering that i had informed them of what needed replacing, I would have expected that they do not take away the car until they have the replacement in stock!

After waiting for the 2 week period and following up with them regularly (because they didnt bother to give me any updates unless I asked), i was finally told that the part had arrived, and the replaced it. Which should have been the end of the story - but no! They took 3 days after that to send the car back as they didn't have a driver!

All together, my car was away for over a month for fixing a broken windscreen!

Considering that Landmark also handles Jeep, I wonder if this is how they typically service clients or is Citroen given step-motherly treatment?!! I suspect that my car may have been one of the first ones that they received in the service centre because they seemed totally disorganized.

I love the car - but after this service experience I don't think I can recommend buying Citroen to anyone in Mumbai unless they upgrade their service standards substantially!

Re: Citroen C3 Review

Just got my C3 automatic. Completed 1000 KMS.

New changes to the standard C3 shine model.
1. Soft touch finish on the dashboard
2. Adjustable front seat headrests
3. 45 Ltr tank.
4. Citroen Connect is discontinued.

Misses out on a soft-touch finish on the door armrest and ambient lighting from the dark edition.

I will write my overall experience soon.

Any idea if the 45 ltr tank can be retrofitted into earlier C3? I'm tired of heading to the pump every week!

Alternately, since you're in Mumbai why not check with the dealer whether you can retrofit the CNG kit for the C3 which is available for an additional price of Rs 93,000 across all Citroen dealerships.

Quoting from the parallel TBHP thread on the subject :

According to the company, the CNG kit is factory-tested and calibrated to ensure a refined drive quality and optimal efficiency. It is said to deliver a mileage of 28.1 km/kg, which equates to a running cost of Rs 2.66 per km. The kit comes with a 3-year/1,00,000 km warranty.

Citroen says that the CNG system is integrated without compromising the boot space and the spare wheel remains accessible. The CNG nozzle is integrated within the petrol filler port. The CNG version gets specially tuned rear shock absorbers with reinforced springs and an anti-roll bar.

The CNG retrofit kit is available exclusively for the C3 powered by the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine and in four variants: Live, Feel, Feel (O) and Shine.
