Re: Citroen C3 Review

Have completed 12k kms in C3 turbo AT. Really impressed with the car as a whole package. The ride and handling package the car offers is unmatched even in a segemnt above. The engine gearbox combo is also superb. Did the 10k kms service from cochin evn service centre.

A few dislikes -
1) Mileage - the best we could manage was 14 kmpl.
Mostly the mileage is in the range of 12-13.5 kmpl. Because of low mileage my father (for whom the car was primarily meant purchased swift amt)
2) Sudden jerk and a strange sound from front when we brake - of which the sudden jerk/bite was partly resolved by the service centre but the strange sound while braking (abruplty/suddenly) remains now.

Upgrades planned -

1) From the above posts understood that now the car comes with soft touch dashboard - will be trying to get the same done from showroom.

2) The ambient lighting available in dark editions is also available as accessory from showroom - shall be trulying to source them also.

3) alloy and tyre upgrade to 16"

4) Stage 1 remap (doubtful though - in an attempt to increase mileage.)

Please keep up posted on how all of these go. I'm also planning on a tyre upgrade for my car as well. Been considering 205s, if possible, 215s, as i love tight fitments. What alloys are you picking? Basalt comes with 16 inchers, getting nice wheels in 108x4 fitment is a task for me...

Will be going in for 205/55/16 most probably. Pcd as pointed out by fellow bhpian is 108 - which is rather rare (comes in tata cars.) . So gettinga lloy designs will be a task though.
I will be doing a roof sticker job on the car soon - shall post pictures after the work is done.

And yes, even I could not find official documents on this but this information is available pretty much on every European website for puretech 110 engine.
But this is what I found from some other website that seems to have the necessary information. I hope any existing C3 owners can confirm if this is how the official user manual looks like.
One interesting observation from the quoted manual is that the manufacturer recommends driving off immediately on ignition rather than waiting at idling rpm for the engine to heat up to optimal temperature.

Can anyone corroborate this from their owner's manual please?

Also, is this being recommended by manufactures of other brands as well for turbo engines?

Re: Citroen C3 Review

There seems to be a new edition of the C3 coming out shortly. It's called the sports edition and will have some cosmetic changes, but not sure if there are any changes to the mechanicals.

Re: Citroen C3 Review

Good evening memeber,

A bold and great looking sport iteration of C3 has been launched inspired by Citroën's rally heritage. Personally, it looks really dashing.

Re: Citroen C3 Review

The main functional issue with the C3 as I see it now (in it's current avatar) is the lack of adequate rear headrests. The current ones provide absolutely no protection to adults, or even support - which means long journeys are going to be quite tiring for the rear seat passengers with no armrests and (practically no) headrests even though the car is extremely capable. They need to fix meaningful issues such as these first before proceeding with stickering jobs for a "sports" edition.

I also remember reading about advise of driving off, immediately after ignition in Kiger Turbo model. Slight warm up and down of Turbo Diesel engine maybe recommended, but not sure if it is the norm currently.

But in order to make it E20 compliant did they make changes in engine calibration and fuel system componens or just updated the label on fuel lid ?
I understand Honda did the later as their engines were already compliant. I wonder if any brand did long term durability testing.
