They confirmed that they have received the software for Android Auto & Apple Carplay & would be flashed tomorrow.

I have received the same RSA call.

Are any updates available OTA also or is it always something that happens at a service station?

Can we get this update without visiting service center?

This can be done by the service center staff. They need to flash the software onboard with the latest version. I don't believe it can be accessed via OTA. Although I remember seeing some option in the Infotainment Screen regarding software update.

You're right. The OTA method doesn't work - the on-screen link goes nowhere.

Got the update. The service center guy told they have received it yesterday only and I was the second person to get it.

No OTA option. It seems for newer cars (mine is May model) only one update is required.

The version therefore is different from what was shared a few posts ago. My version ends with 64 rather than 75.

Soon it may get crowded as the word spreads.

CarPlay successfully installed & working well so far.

Today I put the pedal to the metal for the first time and also noticed the loud buzzing noise highlighted by other members. Will demo to the SA during the 10k service visit.

Guys, suggestions on AT tyres, please.
Narrowed in on two options.

0. Stock is 255 60 R18 - 30 inch dia
1. 265 60 R18 - available in AT2. 30.5 inches.
2. 255 65 R18 - thar tyres. 31.1 inch dia.

Now I know we have sidewall rubbing issues with stock tyres under extreme situations like hard braking or max articulation - but what is a better bet then? Wider? Taller?

Manufactureres are now a days looking at Simpson desert for publicity stunts. Earlier this year Mitsubishi took their Outlander PHEV to Simpson, now its the turn of Mahindra.

An SUV made in India has set the inaugural world record for shortest trip of a production vehicle across Australia’s Simpson Desert.
Key Points
New record time of 13h 21m 5s over 385 kilometres
Mahindra Scorpio driven by Gene Corbett & Ben Robinson
More than 1100 sand dunes, temperatures over 50ºC
Just for reference, This is a 3-4 day journey for an average traveller. I am sure this will be beaten soon with a much more capable 4wd. But a fast run without vehicle damages in a stock vehicle is commendable

Went to the service centre in Hyderabad (VVC Hitech) today to get the software updated. Could only see Apple CarPlay after the update - I have a Z6 and an Android phone :(. Neither service centre nor customer care has any clue about Android Auto updates :Frustrati . Anyone from Hyderabad was able to get it sorted?

Team, Z8 4x4 variant here.

Any feedback from 265 60 18 and 255 65 18 tyre owners? I.e standard fortuner or thar tyre swap size? I last put G105 255 65 17 on my Z6.

I'm on the fence and am planning an upgrade by noon today. I wouldn't mind a 17 inch alloy swap with anyone here.

The table below is 265 (aftermarket) vs 255 (thar) tyres. Stock size is 30.

Oh and also, do we have RCA out in the head unit?
I got a Nakamichi DSP cum Amp and plan on setting it up. Any recommendations in Delhi? I am in noida generally, and am at Karol Bagh on Wednesday.

Got a laundry list of accessories I'll be buying.

I recently took a test-drive of Z8L AT Petrol.
It was kind of a dealbreaker for me to see the mileage on the console to be 3.8km/l.
Am I missing something, or is it just a fact that we all must accept?
Also, no matter how lightly I pressed the brakes, they were jerky.

Test drive vehicle's fuel consumption should not be a dealbreaker. I test drove similar kind of vehicle and on my drive of appox 20+ kms (yes, thanks to local agent's patience) easily managed double digits (10/11 kmpl) in Bangalore.

Am sure some owners here have already shared their more real life numbers. But, yes don't expect more than 11 for a heavy petrol vehicle like Scorpio in day to day traffic of city.

Please keep in mind, the fuel efficiency gets affected by the idle time (eg: car running in idle, while waiting for customer to show up), a/c and engine being pushed to limits to "test" the vehicles.

I did not find brakes too clingy, so again maybe a vehicle specific issue (remember Test vehicle after all). Try another dealer or, ask for another test drive in different vehicle.

Update: Reached out to customer care through email with references to Team-BHP posts and YouTube videos. Received a response that Android Auto should be active and the service centre will reach out.

The initial batch of N vehicles had a noticeably sharp brake bite, which was also felt by us. However, later batches vehicles have shown improvements with a more progressive brake bite IMO.

I also experienced a similar difference in the steering feel. During the test drive, the vehicles had a very light steering, but now it has a noticeable improvement with a good amount of weight and doesn't feel lifeless, even at speeds below 10 km/hr.

I see these as feedback based improvements clap:

Well 3.8kmpl is too low and it must be specific to the Test drive vehicle.

Having said that, the mStallion is very thirsty on the Scorpio, so don't much expect much. You will be lucky to get anything more than 6kmpl in typical city traffic.

I got my Z8 MT petrol few days back, driven around 800kms till now, 60%city 40% highway.

Overall mileage has been around 7.0/7.5kmpl.

To add more perspective, most of city drive has been in western suburbs, link road, JVLR, WEH and a few drives to south Mumbai.

On a drive via JVLR the 2kms SEEPZ-Powai stretch took me 45mins to cross and i saw around 4.5kmpl here on MID, without Automatic start-stop this would have gone down further.

Maximum i have seen is around 14kmpl on WEH on a weekend, absolutely free moving traffic and being gentle on throttle.

As mentioned by others Petrol Turbo is extremely sensitive to throttle input, i am trying to map its behavior and seeing that with gentle throttle inputs and allowing it to build up speed gradually (which it does quite fast) rather then driving pedal to metal helps in getting improved figures.

Having said that, in typical weekday Mumbai traffic expect around 6-7kmpl, anything more is a bonus.

Now only hope is reduction in petrol prices before the elections.

Coming to the Brakes, i had the same observation as you during my test drive last year but in believe Mahindra has worked on it, no issues now with braking, very smooth and progressive.
