Did any of you get told from your dealer that there are supply chain issues with Hyundai and that they have slowed down the output ?
I got an email from my dealer in Bangalore quoting a further delay of 8-10 weeks. And that it is a pan-India problem.

I live right by Advaith Hyundai on Outer Ring Road. I see their Test Drive Tucson almost everyday either parked in the dealership or being driven in and around outer ring road.

DM me if you need a contact - i can send you my SA details. He's quite awesome and very responsive.

Thank you to you both. I managed to get a test drive yesterday from Lakshmi Hyundai.

My take:
Excellent and totally modern vehicle without any major flaws, powerful and torquey diesel and seamless well-matched 9AT torque converter.

Drives almost like a sedan really. Was in the back seat on exact same route as XUV700, Creta, Seltos, Kushaq etc. and the Tucson was by far the best. To be clear, there is no comparison whatsoever on typical rural patchy road surfaces.

Rear seat very spacious too, and without too much bling or useless fripperies. Interiors are super good quality, and far better than my 330i Sport.

Looks are polarizing though - I felt the white will look better. Wifey hated the front end, DRLs or not.

Sequence of pictures:
Ignition off
Engine on, headlights off, DRLs in day setting
Engine on, headlights on, DRLs in dimmed setting

In our use case, we need this as a 90% chauffeured second car, and somehow 38L for a FWD Platinum diesel is a showstopper as of now. If we were looking as a self-drive spacious modern AWD, we would have gone for the HTRAC AWD with eyes closed.

Frankly, for the diesel (KA on road 38.5 - 42L), there is no competition.

Hyundai is struggling big-time suddenly with logistics and SCM issues. The SA refused to commit to 2 months for the Platinum D variant, saying they have been directed not to do so.

EDIT: Please excuse the awful pictures. It was at dusk with imminent heavy rain.

I got an email stating 6 months to a year revised waiting time.

P.S I already waited a decent 75 days.

Hello All ,

Wishing you all a very Happy Diwali.

Today I got a call from SA he confirmed that the vehicle has been allocated & I can take the delivery by November first week.

Hi..

When I did the Pre-booking on Day one (July 18th) the SA promised that he can delivery the car within 30 days. But right now it's 100 + days.

Good thing I didn't sell my old car :Cheering:

Good to hear, I'm considering canceling my booking. I too pre-booked around first week of August, now that they have revised the wait period to another 6 months to a year. I'm not willing for such a long wait. :unhappy

Hello there,

If you are referring to default email which comes from Hyundai telling there is chip shortage & there will be additional delay with the delivery please ignore that email because this email is sent to most of users. Also in this price bracket / Segment you have very less vehicles to choose.

My Suggestion - Please hold the booking till Jan 2023 for sure you will get it.

Thanks for the suggestion, will ascertain before canceling. I did speak to the dealer after receiving the email and it did not instill confidence.

Hello there,

Sure will do it :thumbs up

A few side by side pics of the Tucson and my Kodiaq. The Kodiaq has better presence and looks a lot bigger in person than what the dimensions seem to indicate. I also prefer the cleaner understated styling of the Kodiaq.

I had carpet mats from my previous car which I have put into the Tucson until the Kagu mats become available. I have reached out to a couple of numbers I found in the thread on accessories / mats - I have been given a tentative timeline of a month for Kagu mats.

Yes, I got extended warranty for 5 years and 120,000 KM as I expect a yearly run of over 20000 km. I was charged about 31K for this.

Any source for the Kagu Mats ?
