Re: 2022 Hyundai Tucson Review

Happy to announce that I too joined the Tucson Club. Took delivery of my Tucson Diesel Signature AT AWD Black. Just drove about 40 Kms on the Outer and Inner Ring road in Chennai, I am yet to explore much of it. I could get a feel of the Lane Keep Assist, Smart Cruise Control, etc. Would be taking it for a long drive (Chennai to Mumbai) later this month and will share my experience then. For now, just couple of pictures after ppf + cermaic coating ...

Congratulations and welcome to the club. The color looks awesome. Looks to me you went for a PPF or Ceramic coating from some of the images. Wishing you a long and happy ownership and thousands of exhilarating drive miles.

I will give you my impression of 4th Gen Octavia and current Tucson. Octavia has nice interior. But I did'nt like beige alcantara leather on dashboard as well as on seats. I have liked black ones on Kodiaq and Superb. I was given test drive in a car which had run about 19k Kms. Beige alcantara leather looked very dirty and did't give premium feeling at all in that test drive vehicle. May be that particular car was not properly maintained. Further I did't like placement of AC vents as well. Ergonomically everything else was was spot on. Everything was similar to 3rd Gen Octavia and I don't think it was a bad thing. Tucson's interior is excellent. Everything looks and feel premium. Apart from light beige colour which can easily get dirty, I do not have any complains.

I feel Tucson has more space than Octavia both for front and rear passenger. Incidental during our test drive of 4th Gen Octavia, we felt that 3rd Gen Octavia has better front and rear space than 4th Gen Octavia. Tucson can easily seat 5 whereas Octavia comfortably seat 4 only due to large hump in rear seats.

For ride, I will compare 3rd Gen Octavia to current Tucson as I haven't spent much time in 4th Gen Octavia. Octavia's ride can be termed as comfortable though on a bit firmer side. At low speeds you can feel imperfections on the road but at higher speed you do not feel anything. It rides really well. Octavia's handling was very good. I am not the one who will stretch the limit of my car. I had no issues negotiating turns at high speeds on hilly sections between Ahmedabad - Udaipur. Tucson's low speed ride is better than Octavia's. Compared to earlier generation, ride has become stiffer in Tuscon. I haven't got an opportunity to take it on highways but my limited experience on city road suggests that on highways also handling would be fine though not in the same league as Octavia. It is perfectly understandable as Octavia is a Sedan whereas Tucson an SUV!

I bought the floor mats from the below website.
https://www.hotcarshop.in/productdet...)&_pc=PROD5730
It was delivered promptly and fits Tucson well. This version costs 6900. There is one more version costing 4900 as well.

I also bought the side step from the Hyundai dealer for 32k

Just because, the detailer offered it at about 50% of the cost as it is incremental.

Re: 2022 Hyundai Tucson Review

Hi, need your inputs, whether to go for insurance from dealership that comes under Hyundai Assurance Program, they have listed many hassle free claim benefits over third party insurers and an additional zero depreciation premium for 32k, which I feel is too high just for add-on. Thoughts?

Hello All,

Today I was able to spot Upcoming Hyundai Creta in Indonesia the font design looks exactly like Hyundai Tucson with some changes to the DRL section.

Re: 2022 Hyundai Tucson Review

Tucson is probably one of the very few cars that can truly replace an Octavia, offer the full sized SUV feel and then some without burning your pockets. And Hyundai is known for a trouble free ownership.

Wishing you many thousand miles with it! Happy motoring!

I took through dealership and got 20k discount on same as did comparison with external market.

I think for first year atleast go via dealer and from subsequent years take a call about outside.
