Its the air pressure as described in this Youtube Shorts Video:

As suggested in the Video, I re-tried closing the driver door with any of the other door window or door open, and Viola, its works perfectly.

But still, I am not sure why this issue in this particular car(Grand Vitara) only. I have owned several vehicles in the past but never came across such air pressure issue.

If its a design issue Maruti must correct it as soon as possible.

?
I drive Toyota Urban Cruiser, older gen Breeza in Toyota brand, and face similar issue from day one. After all the inspection and rechecking with other vehicles as well this is common issue with their design with front passenger side door not closing as all other three does. Roll down window a bit and it shuts properly else there needs to apply more pressure to close that door.

Gear shifts are fine in my alpha MT. Compared against my creta petrol which is also very smooth. For perspective, I've been driving manual transmission cars for more than three decades.

It's a 6speed A/T (Torque Converter).
The 4-speed A/T (torque Converter) in my Vitara Brezza 2021 model doesn't have this problem.
Informed this to Dealer as a complaint in 1K service.
Anyone facing this issue and any leads to rectification? please do let me know. Thanks in advance.
Good News is that, we got a fix from MSIL. Initially the MSIL Indian technical team kept saying its normal operational noise!
Nevertheless, I kept expediting at their top level management, which made Suzuki Japan involved and they have come out with an update for A/T control unit software update. After this fix, the issue is resolved 95%, but little noise comes when doing harsh braking or sudden acceleration. Now the downshift during smooth deceleration is noiseless! Thanks to MSIL for taking up my case! This fix is for all A/T smart hybrid including for old vehicles.
I am only surprised, that this issue was never highlighted by any of the specialists who have done the review of the model during the test drive hitherto!

Highway fuel efficiency update @ 1400 kms ODO reading

Below are the snapshots from the Suzuki Connect app for the my recent short highway runs on the GV SMART Hybrid AT.

Unfortunately could not do thankful to thankful, but I do know that the error margin is quite less in the MID and Suzuki Connect app, hence even with a 1 kmpl drop I would say around 17kmpl is what I got.

Mostly drove on cruise at speeds varying between 80 to 100kmph. Did some hard acceleration as well to overtake slow moving vehicles.

I would say the FE is acceptable, but being a Suzuki I was expecting a couple of points more 🙂.

Note: Ignore the trip duration in the pic below as the car is parked in basement so Suzuki Connect loses connection when parked at home.

Great to know.
Try cruising at 80km/hr on highway. You get excellent mileage! Mind Boggling.

Yes, I have the same issue, especially the rear seats you need to buckle else you get the red warning light popup in the instrument cluster.

Do you have any before-and-after videos showing the noise from the 6-speed AT transmission? I hope they are updating the TCU software during routine service. My 2-year service is coming up in a couple of months, thanks for letting us know.

I guess all AT smart hybrid owners face this and folks at A.S.S get away with it by saying it's normal behaviour. Is this update widely available or it was performed on your vehicle only? I just checked with the local A.S.S and they had no clue about it.

Re: Maruti Grand Vitara Review

Wife opted for a GV strong Hybrid Alpha+, and we brought it home yesterday in the Nexa Blue colour. While driving back home after the delivery at 8:30pm, I thought that the default lights on the GV were very poor and needed replacement. Did anyone else feel the same? Has anyone upgraded their lights? Any pointers would be helpful. Thanks

The LEDs are quite ok. The bad ones are the halogens on the base model.

By the way , I hope you have tweaked the headlamp leveler to lowest (0 or 1) position ? That way the angle of spread moves upwards and it helps.

Re: Maruti Grand Vitara Review

I have a peculiar problem with my GV Zeta+, whenever I start the car, the driver side ORVM won't open on its own. Whereas the passenger side ORVM does open. I have to press the ORVM open/close button on the driver side 2 times to open the ORVM. Any idea why is it happening? Is there some setting, which I accidently changed?

Thanks. Yes I did move it to 0, even then I felt the need for better lights. Maybe because I had changed my Jimny Zeta halogens to 50W Osram LED, and was comparing with them.

Yes the lights on high beam are poor and am planning to replace them with Aozoom projector units, the spread and intensity are poor. Low beam is somewhat OK and manageable.

Re: Maruti Grand Vitara Review

Can owners clarify the below for the mild Hybrid (AT version).

1) Service costs for the car considering it is a Nexa product so premium pricing expected?

2) What grade of synthetic oil is recommended for the engine? My current MAAS fills in 0w40 for my Swift wherein the manual recommends 0w20.

3)Compared to the Brezza the Grand Vitara is 5 mm bigger in width and around 14 inches longer. Does this cause difficulty or pain to park and drive in crowded streets or the car is easy to drive. While the Grand Vitara seems bigger I am not able to perceive that it is just 5 mm wider than the Brezza.

Thanks
