3. Is there any maintenance / service pack on offer, or recommended? Something like 5 year service plan
4. Does doors auto lock, post attaining speed of 20 kmph?
5. Instead of just notification on MID, is there any alarm incase any door is open?
1. First service is 30 days or 1000 km. Second service is 12 months or 10000 km.

2/3. Not sure about that.

4. Yes. Doors auto lock. Auto up/down on all 4 windows.

5. Yeah there is a continuous beep if a door is open and vehicle is in motion.

Thanks jthomas. Am I right in understanding that post 1st service, its 10k kms or 1 year which ever is earlier.

Also, how many free services does Toyota offer?

1. First at 1k kms and then every 10k kms or 1 year.

2. Not sure but I expect it to be below 10k.

3. They only have a 20k kms plan for 2 years. I would have liked something longer but the salesman didn't have a clue about extending it. It cost just 7.5k rs which isn't bad for 3 services.

4. Yes and you can also set them to lock on shifting from park and auto unlock when putting it in park or driver's door open. It's all customisable.

5. There is an alarm if someone force opens your door. And warning beeps if you forget to close the door while locking or if car is moving. Furthermore, parking brake will not automatically disable if any of the doors are open. They have thought it all through very well and every component of the car talks to each other.

Zero free services. You are forced to buy their smiles service package that I mentioned above.

The screenshot from the manual clearly states that the service interval is 10000km or 6 months, whichever is earlier. The time interval is mentioned right below the distance inteval, and it is every 6 months. They want you to bring the car in twice every year.

It is reference to miles, not months.

Here you go, the whole section of the manual. The 6 you saw below 10k kms is 6k miles which is equivalent to 10k kms.

Hycross maintenance .pdf

They mention 6 months as inspection for tyre pressure, brakes etc but all replacements are at 1 year/10k kms or more.

Also here is the Toyota smiles service package for 2 years/20k kms where it clearly mentions 1k, 10k and then 20k kms as service intervals.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

AFAIK ever since the first generation Toyota Innova, it has always been a standard policy of having inspection every 5k kms & 6 months, and full service every 10k kms and 1 year.

Better yet, here is a screenshot from their app itself where it mentions first service at 1k kms. Toyota Innova Hycross Review-img_1510.jpg

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

I have a question regarding the hybrid models in general and Hycross in particular. If the vehicle is unused for few months, lets say 3 to 4 months, does the battery pack get discharged?

Kindly advise.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Got my HyCross delivered yesterday. Vehicle had a factory date of 12th May. While the SA was non-committal on E20 compliance, I was pleasantly surprised to see the sticker "upto E20") on the inner side of the petrol tank lid cover.

Congratulations on your new car. You are the first person to confirm E20 material compliance on HyCross. Those who have already taken delivery over the past few months will feel short charged. Requesting you to pls share a photo of the said sticker for everyone’s reference.

Interesting, my mid april manufactured Hycross does not have this sticker. I thought all vehicles manufactured after 1st April had to be E20 compliant?

1st April was deadline for BS6.2 compliance, which everyone has complied with. It was also the date for limited introduction of E20 petrol, in select locations. Even today, many cars are being sold that are not officially E20 compliant. Hyundai-Kia’s 1.4 TGDI and VW-Škoda’s 2.0 TSi engine are rated for only upto E10 petrol. Manufacturers are not mandated by law to make their cars E20 materials compliant as of now. But ultimately, the risk of buying such a car at this time is totally on the customer.
